Yep, there is no sane, logical reason at all to fear guns. I can understand people being nervous over trying to shoot the first few times or something like that. But if you have a problem with them in general, sorry, it ended before it started. Wouldn't be the first time.

I think it would be a blast and like another poster said...a definite stress reliever. You would get plenty of "get to know ya time" while reloading too.

Wouldn't mind at all since I already enjoy going to target practice. However if the guy has an unhealthy obsession with guns and violence then I would be outta' there.

Would be a blast--was that pun intended?

Target practice would be fine if I knew the guy well and he had a healthy respect for firearms.

Maybe it's because i live in England, where there are no guns, except in the hands of criminals and the police, but i think guns shouldnt be in the hands of the public. too much can go wrong, guns in the wrong hands etc. How many school shootings have there been in america , and there has been 1 over here in Dunblane. If you must have guns, at least limit the age range to over 21s. just my 2p worth =same as 2 cents but worth slightly more

I have taken 3 different women to a pistol range in my old city and all three really enjoyed it. They were very nervous and skittish, but after a few minutes they really started to have fun and relaxed.

When I was little and living in the country we had guns around and would shoot at cans and stuff, never animals nor people. Now that I'm adult, I seriously do not want a gun anywhere near me. I'm not scared of them. I do not like them

White knight its not that people are letting kids have guns or buy guns. Kids will find guns anywhere and everywhere on their own. They are pretty easy to get here in america. legally and illegally.

Odd that an outsider knows your reality better than you do. Crime has shot UP in England and in Austrailia since the "gun bans" have been enacted. And a TON of civilians own guns. The UK is well rep'ed on my gun websites.

Hell elegant, I talk to canadians all the time that think ya'll can't own guns. Sad thing is, ya'll can get some guns we can't get down here south of the border. But we get full auto, suppressors, and short barrel rifles and shot guns

Took several dates target shooting, skeet shooting,
they loved it. Considering larger caliber rounds
have much more punch, gals may not like it so much.

I think it's a great idea myself. I don't think you should limit the gunplay to the firing range though. If I could I would wear a western style holster on my belt in everyday life. Sometimes I like to fire off a few rounds into the air as a display of power when I am displeased or losing at cards. Or just to emphasize a point.

I'm a little taken aback by some of the overly enthusiastic responses I see concerning the use of guns.
I do agree that unless you are both serious enthusiasts, don't make it a first date-- maybe ease into it a bit later into the game.
I've been to the range a few times and have friends and family members who own firearms. I personally am not against the idea, but seeing someone trying to impress me with their 'skills' or treating a gun like a toy would end the date so quickly my date wouldn't know what hit him.

ahhh, c'mon...tell me you wouldn't be impressed if a guy shot a valentine heart into a target at 25 yds with a pistol??? Or at least did a Mel Gibson smiley face??

It is a great idea! I would love to go to the range...Once upon a time a date offered to take me, but it never came to fruition, cause we had to cancel.

sorry but you are totally wrong ,some crime has gone up in the UK (violent crime i'm afraid to say) but most has gone down. and while a " ton " of civilians own guns, 95% will be illegal .

Violent Crime has gone up in the UK & Australia...well, gee, there's a surprise...

When criminals don't have to worry about the general populace having guns, they grow emboldened...all they have to do is avoid attacking people larger than themselves. By taking away the Fear Factor from crime, you get more rapes, more murders, more robberies, more beatings. Heck, one of the kids from Harry Potter just got knifed to death in a barroom brawl in the UK...one bodyguard with a pistol could have prevented that. Woulda been nice if a Bobby were around, eh??

I'll actually agree that in a CLOSED society that removal of handguns and assault-type weapons would be a wonderful thing...only problem is, it ONLY works in a closed society. Absolute border control, no illegal substances or items able to enter a country at all. That ain't gonna happen in our lifetimes on Earth. Might be possible on Mars...but not here. There are currently an average of 42 guns PER PERSON that have already been manufactured and currently are in circulation. You've got about as much chance of keeping guns out of Britain as you do of keeping illegal drugs out. Good luck with that.

Target activities...I like the Grandmother in Australia who hunted down the guys who raped her granddaughter to a fare-thee-well and emasculated them by Shotgun. GO GRANNY!!

Bet they've had fewer rapes in THAT town...

Not only that but in the UK, a man defending his home from intruders who shot and killed one was convicted of manslaughter. The other intruder he shot has brought a lawsuit against him.

His name is Tony Martin.

Along with the others, definitely an awesome fun and relaxing date - of course not for all. THAT would be a fun time, no pressures to be all proper and intense. Nothing like target practice in getting to know someone huh? Really tho, it's a blast and a good way to have fun and get to know someone on a lighter side.

I'd prefer going out for the day into the wilderness and doing some skeet shooting, then we don't have to be stuck in a crummy building :)
