One great thing about taking your date to the rifle range...it tells you exactly how far you can peeve her off

Most gun owners are pretty level headed...also highly likely to have sick senses of humour...but you get that with firefighters/cops/military/medical folks too...most normal people wouldn't be able to go to a multiple trauma car crash and then have lasagne after leaving the scene...

Maybe not the first date... As a shooting coach myself i could have an excuse to get close while coaching so more of a 2nd 3rd date type thing.. as well as it can get your adrenaline pumping which is always good

Tell me about it. A friend and I went through 100 rounds each of tap and mk 262 in 5.56 and another 60 or so of .308 tap, not to mention the .45 and the cheap ssa .5.56 for his suppressed SBR. For roughly 500 rounds today, it cost him about 330 bucks. Of course, we're shooting at 200 yards and wanted a combo that could put em through the same hole. So no cheap stuff.

When you own a Calico & a tec-9, you go thru ammo like a drunken sailor goes through blondes. Each magazine on the Calico holds 100 rounds. Each mag on the Tec-9 holds 50. I had to buy a second bigazz safe just for the ammo...

Speaking of which, get a real safe, bolt it to the floor, have at least one boobytrap set, and hook up an alarm system to it.

It also helps to have a next-door neighbor who is a retired Army gun nut working opposing shifts...any hint of problems at either home means some poor bastich is going to be filled with lead. Then we'll call the fuzz if the dogs can't eat it all

Since I love to paintball, play shooting games etc., I would love it. I guess I am a bit of an adrenaline junkie. I fired a 9mm once out in the desert, it was pretty cool.

I would love to shoot at one of those body targets and think of a few people in my past and sing "A shot to the heart, you're to vain, you give love a bad name"

how would you feel if your date took you to a range to squeeze off some rounds?

I reakon it'd be pretty cool. Would probably really enjoy it. Have shot at tin cans and stuff...and same as archery. I reakon Id be okay cos I got an eye for that kinda thing.

My biggest issue would be if a guy was into it seriously...would he own guns?
I wont have them in the house...under key or not.

We have exceptionally tough gun laws here in Australia. You're a freak if you own one.

Many years ago when I moved in with common-law I found a rifle in the closet. (registered weapon ofcourse) but...
...told him point blank (no pun intended ) to get it the fcuk outta the house or I was history.
The gun went.

Keep it down the "club" if you wanna...but not in the house.
I dont have many "rules" but that IS one of them.

Awesome! Nothing like firing off a few rounds to ease the stress from the whole date.

Shrek, you'd think they'd listen to Bill. Even he said that the ban was a mistake. It had no effect on crime and cost the dems the congress the next election. He said it was political suicide. Now Obama wants to institute an even more restrictive ban. It's nothing more than feel good politics. The truth is that so called assault weapons aren't even in the top ten list for crime guns. Bangers are cheap, they use cheap lorcins, ravens, and illegal SBS's. my Glocks and ARs are all extremely reliable and pretty expensive. You can get a lorcin for 75 bucks. My cheapest Glock was $500. I have $2500 in my M4, My guns can't be stolen either. And one has saved my life twice.

They need to go after retards with guns not guns. I mean one of the things the clinton ban restricted was bayonet lugs. When was the last time anyone here heard of a drive by bayonetting?

I think ill NOT comment on this because i do not fancy being singled out any longer
and also since the patriot act, The statements that i am used to verbalizing, will have to be suppressed.

bad date activity? boring? not personal? no real communication in such an activity?

good date
less boring than some
yes, personal enough
lots of FUN communication

i do love the smell of gunpowder and i'd bring my own guns as well

i wouldn't want to do it on a first date unless i knew him well and was convinced he was level headed and experienced. i don't want to target practice with a gun toten' newbie!

Let Obama have all the semi-auto's...I can empty out two single-action Bisley's faster than most cops can empty out a 10 shot .40 and I tend to be a bit more accurate with 'em. SASS shooters are ten times nastyer than regular gun nuts

Anyone got any actual Hard Data on what Obama has said so far on gun control?? I know Hillary planned to re-institute her hubby's gun ban, but I never heard anything outta Obama.

Depends on the gun nut. I shoot IDPA, IPSC, (uspsa) 3 gun, and 2 gun. Plenty of youtube vids of em all. I ain't slow I'm also stepping into the long range arena lately, it's 100% new for me. It is rather fun to put a 20 round mag into a targets head at 200 in about 40 seconds w00t!

I was a firearms instructor for several years for the sheriffs office I work for. With me being a sigle guy I was surprised at the women I met that want to go on a shooting date . They love it.

Well, IF a large-scale gun ban passed both the house & senate, there would either have to be a Grandfather clause for the ones already out there or a special license made for that purpose. Like the Clinton Gun ban, they could only be sold to those with the appropriate licenses. Most Dems remember what happened with the Clinton Gun Ban last time...Republican's took over Congress on the next voting cycle. The Gun issue gets people voted out of office. Why do you think Congress let it die when it was up for renewal???

It would also face a Supreme Court challenge...no doubt.

And it would force a lot of americans to become criminals, because they just are not going to give up their guns. Florida already has a Beautiful CCW plan, a good anti-criminal law with 10-20-Life, and crime is dropping as we go...I LOVE it here!! Take a look at Alabama's problems with Urban crime...compare Mobile with Pensacola, it's sister city...Mobile's crime rate is atrocious...
