Posted: 10/5/2009 7:00:48 PM | I'll apologize in advance for not reading all 900+ posts on this subject. A couple pages was as enough so if someone else has stated the same thoughts then by all means send me a note and tell me you've been looking for someone like me all you life!
First off, does anyone ever wonder why hair in the armpits and pubic area grows so prolifically, compared to leg or chest hair? It's because those areas are subject to vigorous movement and the hair acts as a bushing, e.g. a simple friction reducer.
Secondly, when one shaves an area on the body does it not grow back in a very short time? Our hair, all over our body, grows at a steady rate. When left alone it grows to that point where it is worn off by natural movement and other activities. That wearing motion tends to leave the hair worn off in a taper rather than blunt which is what a razor does.
Tapered hair tends to feel softer than blunt cut hair.
If you "trim" and leave it a few days it's not nearly so rough as when shaved and grown out a few days, just like a man's beard!
A good electric clipper with attachmets would be much more useful for most men and women than a razor. I've found shaved partners who enjoy having my shaft head rubbed against their clitoris to be simply too uncomfortable even when freshly shaved. Some curves are too hard to shave close! I like the non-contact areas to be trimmed if that's what my partner wants but otherwise I tend to feel that "nature" has a plan that works pretty well.
So as someone who has discovered just how much more hair wants to grow as I get older... I say clip it and keep it as neat as you (or your lover) like. I pay attention to keeping my shaft shaved smooth and mouth comfortable but I only trim the rest of the landscape.
Besides, topiary is an artform!
