I use MTS for phone and internet access. When I was moving into the city, I was trying to decide on which company to get my internet access from. After 30 seconds of research (literally), I decided on MTS for my net access. Shaw has a very stupid and unnecessary download limit of 150 gigs per month. I download a lot of stuff from usenet and well..150 gigs would take me 3 days EASILY to use up. I personally don't see how they can justify a limit when they also offer a cable TV signal. You probably receive a lot more then 150 gigs worth of data if you watch TV for 3 days straight. MTS has no such download limits. So that's why I went with them.

Well looks like no one has replied to this topic in a very long time, but here is my take on things. Currently I am with MTS for everything and I love it. MTS TV offers more channels and will soon offer more HD channels than Shaw does and they have better quality. When I was with Shaw Digital I always had issues with pixelation or macro-blocking whatever its called and it was really annoying trying to watch tv with their service. MTS always has a great picture. As for internet, when I was with Shaw quite often their internet service would be down, so far with MTS I am always able to connect with no problems and with MTS you are not on the same connection as the whole neighborhood like Shaw so if i'm online in the evening with everyone else in the neighbourhood things don't suddenly slow down. As for phone service, why change when it ain't broke. MTS has always had an exceptional phone service with very little problems and it's much cheaper than Shaw's service since we rarely call long distance and have a cheap long distance plan with another company. I guess switching to Shaw phone makes sense if you have internet and tv with them, but for me it's not worth it. As for customer service, I don't usually use it so I don't know many problems, but I never had wait that long to talk to an MTS representative, meanwhile with Shaw I was always waiting 30 or more minutes which was ridiculous! And don't forget MTS's new Ultimate TV service is far better than anything Shaw could offer with total home pvr on any tv in the house and tons of HD channels Shaw doesn't currently offer as well other great features like a guide that lets you remove channels you don't have and allows you to create your own line-up if you want. Also with MTS I can easily change my packages online whenever I want as often as I want at no extra cost, unless of course i'm adding more than I currently have of course. Anyway, that's my opinion on MTS vs Shaw.

i prefur shaw cuz i support canadian jobs and canadian companies... stream lined to me reminds me of the american business principals being played out in our rural area's and devaluing my country(out soursing picks my pretty lil azz)....do not care, will support the canadian company even if an american one uses one of manitoba's stars to draw past american advertizing... i was mts all my life untill i discovered stream lined and was booked an appointment with a machine instead of a real human....not in myhouse...not ever! puts the boots to any azzhole who treats me like a robot by talking business with a computer...falk them and the horse they rode in on.....imo of course

i prefur shaw cuz i support canadian jobs and canadian companies... Doesn't the 'M' in 'MTS' stand for Manitoba? Does that make MTS a canadian job and a canadian company? Sorry. Just wanted to ask. :) I'm not sure who I would choose. I found that customer service for Shaw is better than MTS. Im not sure about the phone or TV service because I have only used MTS phone and Shaw TV, but I choose MTS internet over Shaw. MTS seems way faster for me. In conclusion, they are tied. I just go with the majority of the household. lol
