Here's a point I really think should have been thought of as well; Ok we all agree this is a dating, meet someone, make friends, sight. I find in reading everything this has sure stirred up into a big hornets nest, problem I would like to know is if the first shot is to be a head shot, and when you read the delete if it is not a person or torso shot, my question is why not delete if it is a childs shot as well. This is a dating site hense adults and I see way to many childrens pictures on this site, so why not them be deleted as well. I know some of the viewers are going to argue well my children are part of me bla bla bla. This is a dating site , and you do not know who is viewing your children. So why is it that children can be on this site but, animals, shirts, torsos, are being delete. but why are you leaving first pictures with children, Just asking. | |

I see two in the admin profile. Don't be fooled by the fact that POF is 'free'... it's not. Mr. POF is earning his living, thanks to us, by selling advertising just like those "free" weekly newspapers.

Posted: 4/9/2007 6:27:31 PM | The biggest problem I find in China, and I am a Canadian teaching English here, is that Chinese women over 35 often post photos that were taken 10 to 15 years previously, and many are doctored by professional photographers to make the women look like movie stars. In the beginning I was badly burned by this, having spent a lot of money to travel fairly far to meet whom I thought was to be my loved one, but unfortunately I hadn't travelled in H.G.Wells' time machine.

I know alot of people are going to disagree with this, but really, what are you hiding?? I mean, if you TRULY are looking for a relationship and just not on here to have fun, then obviously people are going to have to see you eventually....
Thing is, techchick, I'm *not* on here looking for a relationship (or, more accurately, I *found* my relationship on here, and I'm "Not Single/Not Looking" now), my GF and I stay on to read/post in the forums and to keep in touch with a few people. I had a cute pic of my cat curled up in the sink as my main pic, and a full body/face pic as my secondary, the cat as my primary *because* I'm not looking for a 'date'. Interestingly, I think I got more emails in the past couple months from people commenting on my cat pic, and sending me pics of their cats, than I got in the prior 6 months. And not to 'date', but just to share stories and experiences of our pets. Since I'm not here to date, I removed my full body/face pic entirely now (still have it there to send in email)... happy? | |

When I see a photo, whether the number one photo or not, of a woman with her beautiful child, I must commend her for being so open about hoping the man she meets will want and love her AND her child. The woman who is proud of and loves her child and wants that child to be a part of her total family (including me) is the kind of woman I seek. She hides nothing, but shows a total (well, sort of total) picture of what to expect, and I respect her for it.

glad it was a woman that finally posted that one because i've been thinking the same thing all afternoon...
all i know is that this whole thread is really turning me off this website altogether...i thought it was an adult site, but i see it's for the most part, just a bunch of self-centred whiney little brats...over a couple of little pictures...good grief
i think i'll really mark my words in future forum posts after really seeing the mentality we're working with here

I suspect that a bunch of people have more than one account. For example a guy wants to talk to a girl that has 'hasn't messaged other users for intimate encounter checked', so goes and creates a new account so he can message her. I don't know how you catch stuff like this, other than maybe a RSA key or something in a cookie that is machine and user specific (so you don't block computers used by multiple poeple). That could still be hacked but would be a little better (as the vast majority of people wouldn't know where to start). | |

I am amazed at some of the whiners, and at the complaints. I think there are other sites out there for people seeking sex. Your secondary photo can only send the message you are seeking sex. You posted that you are looking for dates, but there is a category more appropriate as looking for intimate encounters, if you want to be honest with the men looking at your profile. I for one do not want to see pics like that as a primary photo, or any other photo in this 'dating' website, so I am glad most men do not post pics like that. | |
