I personaly am pleased about never having to view another bike, car, dog, baby, huge fish, boat, jetski, house, garden,tv and hi fi equipment, sunglasses, football team badges...need I go on?

Posted: 4/8/2007 4:44:13 PM | i'm gonna have to agree with admin on this, all these stupid pictures people have like close ups of buttons and their car, or any of that crap is annoying. but i do think there should be an option to leave you main pic blank, but have others. some of these people are artisitc and want to show that, and i'm all for it. i have pictures of my tattoos up, mainly to show them off. if you don't like them, fine, they aren't my main ones, and they won't be. but just remember if your here for dating or relationship purposes, we don't want to have a relationship with your artwork, or your car or your horse or any of those, just keep that in mind. the main pic should either be a face or body shot of you, and i don't mean one that's you about 50 feet away and you look like a black smudge. and all these group pics get old too, how the hell am i supposed to know which one you are??
as for the people complaining about the report image option, think about it this website has one administrator, he can't browse every single persons profile by himself and make the corrections. he needs all the help he can get, and if that means site users helping him so that he can keep it free i all for it | |

At the moment, we intelligent people can spot, in nanoseconds, profiles that need to be ignored. As soon as we can't, we'll leave POF and try or start another site. | |

I had also put and example of my graphic art (t-shirt design) and a photograph I took of a 60' wave on Maui. The 2 non-human pics got deleted. So WHAT? Is all form of expression to be deleted now? I understand the need for a pic of oneself there, but there should be room for artistic expression. I get requests for examples of my art a lot....now I can't post them? There needs to be a happy medium here somewhere in the mix.
Otherwise, I like it!

Posted: 4/8/2007 5:10:13 PM | I've been around a few dating sites and seen both sides of this argument. As usual it has two sides and both have good and poor points. The facts are though:
1.) After 14 mths on this site I have never encountered a scammer. I am currently on 7 other sites and all of them have scammers.
2.)Have you ever met with someone and it's not been what you expected? I haven't but know plenty who have and even had the opportunity to witness it once at the local park, she had a very pretty face, which did not match the rest of her figure. Expect your date to last about 5 mins if the facts don't add up.
I think your making a rod for your own back and creating unnecessary work.
Use your scripts. This site is not broken so why try and fix it.

If you have a dog, it can be your 3rd or 4th picture. Just the main picture has to be a headshot of you.
If I have to manually review a profile because someone didn't follow the rules and have a headshot as the main picture I'm going to delete everything that doesn't include a person's face.
it took a while to find these two post from the Big Fish....
if he has anymore... please add to this and pass it on ....

As for fake photos, what is stopping anyone from placing a photo of someone else up...face shot or not....NOTHING as I see it. So whats that point. However with that said I will be glad to see all the female T & A photos getting deleted. Once you have seen one set of T & A...you have seen them.....all.... As well when I have rated photos...it would be nice to have something on that page to report nude photos and not just rate them 1 to 10. I have seen more then my fair share of some guy that just puts a photo of his DONG of someone elses up and asks for it to be rated... Maybe on the rate my photo area you can also include a DELETE due to cartoon and or nude photo botton, as well as a crop the photo one along with the rating number scale.....just a thought for what its worth... | |
