Posted: 5/22/2008 3:31:53 AM | it boggles the mind that there are actually whiny losers out there that would take the time to report someone they will never meet about not having a so-called acceptable photo on their account, its ridiculous ,if you're going to censor pictures,how about deleting all the ugly people,oh ya ,wouldnt be many left then would there,or the ten year old photos ,or the illiterates,or the dishrag personalities.
or we could let people put up whatever they feel is representative of them,make people actually read the profiles instead of window shopping.
its no different than television , if you don't like what you see,turn the channel,click another profile.
how about a feature to show if someone reported a non-compliant pic,so i could avoid them. | |

I have met three who looked 10 years older than their pictures.
Met one who looked 10 years younger !

Posted: 5/22/2008 7:28:24 PM | I recently deleated two pics and then tried to upload two more and could not as to no browser button. I contacted a moderator to be told my pic privilages had been suspended and not given a reason why I then contacted adminn with no reply. All the images I have had on POF in the past have been by the rules and not offensive in anyway.
Folks: If your images are not accepted just look at some that the unacceptable pics that some moderators have on here and complain. Filtered,not human,altered and cartoons. You be the judge. Just look for yourself.
Think I may be nuked over this one but what the hell eh.
Perhaps voulanteer image moderators are in order here. I'll step up!

Fitness adds a lot to appearance, and at that initial level of acquaintance, it should be plenty to go by... Then if her profile (or email conversation) is interesting, I'd ask for the facial pic.
I think "torso" pics should be allowed. Maybe as a separate category? This would be a huge advantage over other sites.... | |

Posted: 7/3/2008 6:26:38 AM | I agree with rusticbadboy that it's a problem if only certain people get targeted. I know that I always try to be nice with all of my replies when getting an email. Sometimes their are people who actually get rude with their emails to you when you politely say your not interested but thank you...Sometimes it is necessary to block someone cause they get pretty verbal.. So if someone that is upset with you because they don't get the response they would like and report you, for those reason its not fair.
I have seen alot of not decent pics up, but have never reported anyone.
I had a photo as a 3rd photo taken on a holiday scuba diving, it has been on here for a long time and it got deleted along with some other photos which did have my face in it. | |

If you vote to have someones pic deleted, you should be man or woman enough to let them see that you did that. So it basically becomes a "hi I think your pic should be deleted, because I don't like it"
Thats all, theres enough deleting of posts by the "bitter post delete posse" that do little more than whine about interesting posts, leaving us with nothing but "why can't a nice/bad/tall/short/old/young/fat/thin/guy/girl get a date" posts.

Posted: 7/28/2008 4:30:47 PM | i can still not post a photo......whats going on??? i had one on here...tried to upload another it wouldn't work...tried deleting the original...it deleted it and now it won't let me add any pictures...both of the pics are jpeg...i have tried everything...i am getting very frustrated...tried different browsers...logged out...logged in...used a different computer...whats up??? both are head shots

Who decides to delete pictures.. I think it is because I have a crazy lady who wants me to not have my daughters in my pics even though they are blanked out.. So she reports it..

Also been aware of girls using headless pics of models and claiming it's them. I too am sick of torso shots and shirtless people - what's all that about??? | |

Since you are complaining. The photo I believe you are referring to as a “main” photo with the children with white over their faces might be a “head shot” of you but you have sunglasses and are a bit far away. So, as a main photo it wouldn’t be acceptable.

The Admin/Big Fish/Creator of this site is the only one that can delete photos or profiles. It wouldn’t matter if the Queen Of Sheba reported you, if he doesn’t think they comply to his rules they go poof.

If there is no head or you probably wouldn’t recognize them on a date if you met report them using the button under the main image on the profile or at the bottom of the profile. You must be logged into your email account to see those buttons on their profiles.
I usually only report the one photo people that you clearly can’t see what they really look like or not even a photo of them, just a dog or a bridge, which is probably there just to get around the “you must have a picture to contact “ filter. Also, the ones where none of the photos is a clear head shot. I personally don’t worry about those that have a good clear photo but also have a photo of a bridge or their dog somewhere among the photos, but technically they are also not allowed. | |

I have reported 2 people since being on this site and NOTHING has changed.
One was for using a copyrighted pic of a musician (usually as his main pic) and he is still using it....
The second report was about some little thug wanna-be who sent me a nasty, threatening email (I promptly blocked him) and I had NEVER spoke to this 'kid' once prior.....so I don't know how selective the mods are being on reports.
I considered reporting again (at least where thuggy was concerned) but figured with my luck I would be the one deleted......go figure!

Plus all my other pictures were deleted including a torso close up shot ( it is a few years old so not right to make it my primary)
This doesn't make sense you can't post a profile pic unless it is just a head shot.. But of course you don't have to put up any picture.. If it isn't then it shouldn't matter what picture you put up.
I am ok with a head shot rule but then make it mandatory that a recent Pic must be used. (with a date stamp) This means I could post a picture of myself 20 years ago as long as it is a torso shot ?? Instead of a more recent one like I did. It is better than a blank spot where the picture should be.

In the photo of you and the kids, the white blocks over them and the checkered flag, it sure doesn’t look like just eyes even from far away. Either way it doesn’t appear that you would be recognizable in person from that photo on a date, that is the whole idea. As far as I know the main photo on the profile is the one that is the biggest concern, if you have one or two clear shots of your entire face visible along with one or two further away to show body type there probably would not be an issue made.
You have many people that have one half shadowy photo of themselves and the rest are dogs, cats or artwork I have even seen billboard signs they thought were funny. I think the rules used to be more relaxed and you could have some of these as long as you had one or two good clear head shots, but it got so out of hand the rules got tighter
Those that don’t post a photo will not be able to circumvent the “must have a photo to message” filters. However, someone with a picture of their feet could still contact those with that filter and those people don’t want to be contacted by someone they can’t see right up front. This is even mentioned in the OP of this thread that was posted by the Admin of the site. Since that was implemented the rules for photos if you decide to use them have become more rigid. Why is it so hard to just post compliant photos and show off others to a potential date through private email or even on a date??? Wow, what a concept??

It was in the DE or another relationships thread. The thread was probably 10 pages long, and nobody in the thread said anything about the OP's picture being fake. This was before I got my cookies straightened out so I could post in the forums. I reported her main picture as being fake but don't know what happened with that.
If it looks like a model or a professional picture, it's likely a fake. | |

I'd like to know who reported one of my pics so I can block this uptight person (or group of uptight people)... and the picture in question was just a shot of two beers with the caption "Guess which one is mine" ... it was intended as a conversation starter. It was really benign compared to many many other pictures I've seen on this site.

I had to make an effort to find one of myself (I'm usually the one taking the pictures!) and think if onyone is going to take the time to put a real profile together for the purpose of finding a mate, the photo should definitely accompany it!
As to reporting photos - I've seen pictures of well-known actors used as the main photo. I have no problem reporting them! It would be different if they had their own photo, then one of the 'celebrity' that maybe had a caption of "people say I look like _____".
I don't mind when people share photos of places they've been or pictures they're proud of. Take the time to put a caption in, though. I've also put in the dates on my older photos, which are on there to show a little background of who I am (and how I've grown!  ) | |
