Posted: 9/8/2008 8:13:32 AM | I was goofing with some of my female forum friends and they were all posting one goofy "ken doll" pic as one of their profile pics and I played along and added Ken to mine. And got reported. And of course it was deleted (I UNDERSTAND WHY! We were just playing around) my profile is hidden here and I just post in the forums right now as I am with a gal I met here on POF... (hopefully a POF success story finally ! Wahoo...)
but I also lost 3 other pics that all clearly showed my face in every one of them and those three had been my primary pics here for over two years. ALL clearly showed my face. One was a full length photo taken from 8 feet away that clearly showed my face. One was full length from 10 feet away without a shirt on but very clearly showed my face also??? So what other criteria are you using to delete other photos. Those should clearly meet all rerquiremnts for non MAIN PIC photos. All were straight on into the camera from 8 to 10 feet??? Perfectly clear photos.
Is a male pic without a shirt wearing blue jeans considered nudity here? One I had a Cowboy hat on? But it showed my face? Both eyes were visible it was not a profile pic but even a profile pic as a non main pic is allowed right? There has to be more going on here on the selection process of what you delete. Because every pic of mine you deleted (other then the Ken Doll pic) was of me and taken from 8 to 10 feet away and showed my face clearly????

Posted: 9/9/2008 5:25:46 AM | It’s funny that the Moderators have stated at least dozens of times in all these complaint threads that they have no photo or profile deleting power, guess it takes more times for people to get it.

If I have to manually review a profile because someone didn't follow the rules and have a headshot as the main picture I'm going to delete everything that doesn't include a person's face.
Guess perfect English is just too difficult for some. | |

Were the posts above that you missed not in English? We are complaing because thats NOT what happened. They deleted pics with clear face shots that should of all been acceptable even as main pics for me anyway.

If you continue to upload images that do not follow the rules your uploading abilities will be disabled
The main picture in question being the one you can see to the left of this post.... So if that doesn't show my face, why the **** do I get msg';s commenting about my smile?

Posted: 9/9/2008 9:38:53 PM | I have seen hundreds of complaints that pictures were full face shots that just like the one above, I don't know how anyone could compliment on a smile you can't see, in fact very little of the face can be seen it is so dark. I have seen these complaints about dark and blurred photos as well as those that have sunglasses, a hat along with scarf so the only thing visible on the actual face is maybe the nose, but they will scream to the rafters that their face is in the picture. I have even seen complainers when the photo is that back of their head and again screaming to the rafters, oh but "my head is in it". Not being recognizable has also been stated by the admin and moderators as being non-compliant. Once again not sure what part of “must be a visible head shot at minimum” people don’t understand especially since it is in bright bold red letters on the image upload page.
So, yes, I noticed everyone "claiming" to have clear visible photos, have read hundreds of them and seen the unrecognizable photos that go right along with them.
Have a feeling I am not having to try as hard as others. | |

I hate the idea ... It's a form of censorship! Just like the other commercial sites, I don't like my personal expression (Image or words) to be judged by the Gestapo profile police ... I've banned myself from using ANYTHING Yahoo and Match because of that reason because they policed my profile ...
Sure don't use other people's photos if you do, credit them! ... Don't put a singles ad online and use a photo of your daughter, or some random stranger or yourself 25 years ago to attract a younger male ... duh!!! Don't use a celebrity ... again DUHH! But if you create your image ... why not? I have many photos I like to use, some have been pulled, I'm pissed when it happens, why can't I show my talent without a face present?
How would anyone really know if we lied anyway unless it was a mainstream photo? If I don't want to post my face (for whatever reason) I should not be required to do so but If I want to show off my artistic ability I should be allowed to do so. And if people MUST see a photo just to speak to a person so be it ... MOVE ON (I don't wish to speak
to you anyway) ... Say Hi to me first ... I'll send a recent photo of me .... geesh ...
The whole idea is to make an ad attractive .... to attract a certain person whom may appreciate that image, your talent, your style ... YOU. But don't try to be someone whom you are not or may HAVE BEEN ... thats not the way to start any relationship.
Report Spammers and Fakes leave the REAL PEOPLE and their own images and words (whatever they may be) ALONE.
Maybe a check box to claim ... "Not my face"?
In the end it all comes down to what the site owner decides ... as it should be ...
I agree. My pic was deleted by the Admin for the reason that it does not show my face, according to them. Well, it DOES show it, but the problem is probably with the size of the pic (I think). I will remain pictureless for the time being.
Some other posters expressed their opinion that if a pic is not real, then the person must be lying. Well, he (or she) might be lying anyway. If they don't give you their home phone number, chances are they're attached, married or whatever, and are playing you. Then again, even if the pic meets all the guidelines, it could be someone else's pic, so what's the point.
If I ever win in a lottery, I will open my own dating website, and let everybody post whatever pic they wish. I think that it should be up to the poster what kind of a picture they want to, and if someone else doesn't like it, hey, move on to the next one. No big deal.
Why some people just loooove it to blow things out of proportion? Beats me. | |

I had my picture deleted for no reason. It was the right size (396 by 317 pixels); it is now 400 by 350 pixels; is THAT enough? It clearly showed my face and nothing else. I am at a loss how this site works. Do you just delete pics as you please?
I need some instructions on how to try and upload my pic again. I want to give it another try. I looked all over the place; can't locate the button with "Upload Pic" on it. Any ideas?  | |

Anyway, his pic looked cute, and then, I thought, some people look young for their age, and he looked like, wow. We were going to meet in a parking lot of some coffee house. I pulled in, and here he is, sitting in his Pontiac G6, but OMG. Compared to his pic, he looked almost like his own father. I hesitated to get out of my car, was tempted to turn around and leave, then decided to step out, just out of courtesy. He sensed it, pretended to be reading Giant Eagle flyer, and then informed me that he couldn't stay as he had to appear in a courthouse. Yea right. A good excuse. BTW, he was wearing one of those Harley Davidson t-shirts, but his profile did not mention anything about motorcycles. I am glad that this wasn't far from my home, so had a nice ride, that's all.   | |

May be I DON'T WANT MEN TO LOOK AT A PICTURE OF MY FACE AND DECIDE HEY SHE LOOKS GOOD AND NOW WILL BOMBARD HER WITH CRAP. May be I think a full-length pic of me is a good idea of whatever reason, be it I am full and I wanna highlight that or be it I am in a wheelchair and I wanna highlight that... whatever!!... My pictures are my choice.. if someone likes them they can reply me, if not, then don't! Are you gonna put a rule next against facial hair? That can hide your face too! lol
The fake photos are not few around here and the admin is obssessing about main pic not of face... at leat the corpse is mine! HUMPH! | |

I even went so far as to download it onto a disc, and then tried it that way.
What am I doing wrong?
I need a play by play, please. It would make it so muck easier.
By the way, I am trying to do this from a library computer, I dont have one of my own if that helps. | |
