Posted: 2/4/2009 8:39:35 PM | just as a positive suggestion ...... everyone should check their main photo out as a thumbnail ... [that's how you see it in the forum postings] .... and decide if you are recognizable in it and would it attract someone enough for them to look at your profile.
remember ... the shape of the thumbnail photo is the shape your original should be or it will be distorted. ... now you may want it distorted... for that false representation that these ... dorky picture reporters think they are preventing. ha ha .....
if you make your picture wider than it is tall then it will make you look thinner.

Yes, because this is a dating/relationship site. Yes, other pictures can tell me more about what the person likes to do or where they go. . . but the first picture should be a face.
Only I think you should clarify that YOUR first picture MUST be YOUR head shot.
I logged on today to learn that the famous actor Adrian Grenier from HBO's Entourage has moved to New Brunswick in Canada-- wow! And he's single and looking on POF!

I also think that the rest of the pictures users upload should actually express what they want to express. For example, if they are an excellent bowler (if they can play bowling well), why is a picture of one playing bowling unacceptable in their profile? | |

Posted: 3/14/2009 5:53:23 PM | Again, I still think this feature is abused by some members. I did have a shot with my face (with no sunglasses or eyes "colored" over) that also got deleted. As far as I could tell the picture was fine, not blurry, not too dark, etc, but it got reported by someone for some reason.
So, I gave up, because it feels like no matter what I put up, someone out there has a problem with my specific pictures. Now I just have an ad with no picture. Wish there was a feature preventing abuse of this feature. That's the problem with most dating sites. They're never going to make everyone happy with everything I suppose.

let them do what they want, its so much easier to see they are playing games right up front, making it easier to avoid them. -the only exception is if they steal someone elses pic to use on their profile. | |

Posted: 4/13/2009 4:19:47 PM | I got a message from a girl that said I had digitally altered a wedding picture of her friends and added myself. I did nothing of the such, she must have been at the same large Italian wedding. She reported that image and now I lost the ability to add photos.
I don't think that is fair. I didn't do any photo retouching, it was a real image of me at a wedding that she must have also been at.
What can I do to get my ability back to upload images? I don't think it's fair when I did nothing wrong and the lady that reported me was wrong and doesn't realize its a small world.
I sent her back an email saying the couples name and all the information about the wedding so I know she will feel like an ass but still now I lost that ability and that is upsetting.

I see these shots all the time which are basically cut off somewhere just below or thru the middle of the eyes, showing only the lower half of the face. It's like the person is trying to stay within the letter of the law (so they show up in searches) while still being almost entirely unrecognizable. | |
