It not so much about being "fat"...it's how you carry your self, and most "fat" people exude the lack of all the skills we look for while seeking a potential partner. Or on the flip side, are so desperate for attention they dress half naked or act like lesbians while in public, and it is just disgusting. Do these women think men actually view them as potential wife material???
Be what ever you want to be, fat or skinny, but do it with some class and self respect. | |

wow.......is this dump on fat people day? i didn't get the flyer. imagine that. most fat people have NO SKILLS that would make them a potential partner, and if they decide to GET BRAVE and wear clothing that is alluring or go out with girlfriends and have fun, they are disgusting.
seems to me that the people who lack in self-esteem the most are those that feel a need to attack and judge"MOST" of a certain segment of people without even knowing them. | |

Posted: 2/17/2008 7:38:19 AM | | ^^^^^^littlemisssunshine, i think you raise a really good point. when i was thin, i was definitely given more attention from men. but when you put on weight, that all changes. it's so important to value yourself as you are, fat or thin, because fat women are criticized to death, even if they are in the gym exercising. what people who have never been fat don't understand, is that it is harder to go out there and be who you are and feel good about yourself when people feel free to insult you and your weight to your face (or on a forum thread). its so important to remember that you are more than what the number on a scale says, and that you are a person of beauty and value. | |

I agree with you. Just because I'm carrying an extra 50 pounds doesn't make me a horrible person. I work out, I try and eat healthy (although it does wavier on some level of occasion) and I just deal with it. I've dealt with a lot of crap in my life because of my weight and until you have "walked in someone else's shoes" you don't know what it's like until you've been there. | |

I am not saying everyone is. Nor knocking anything. However, if your going to be heavy, there is no reason you should let your hygeine suffer. Your shoulders do not need to be slumped, and you can chose to carry yourself in a dignified mannor.
How you carry yourself IS an aspect of social skills.
Being a bombastic pervert in public is NOT a social skill. It will not score you a quaility partner in life.
Wear it well. I migth like you then. Wear it poorly, I will not consider you. No matter how many other positives you may have. | |

It like women who are only attracted to guys with long hair, tats or great bodies. Everyone is so fixated on this kind of crap and forget what is really important.

Too bad you did not read my previous post in this SAME thread on the subject you would have not have responded in such a way. You would have seen my views on "chunky" women. Silly.
I doubt anyone is "into" people who do not take care of themselves. When a person is nasty, it does not matter if they are fat or skinny. Being fat does acerbate the situation. You read venom in my post. Look beyond your preconceived visions of what the general public thinks and don't be so quick to respond in a sarcastic mannor.
I offered an opinion on the post about social skills.
Poor hygeine is an aspect of a social skill. If you carry yourself as a slob, people shall view you as such. If you carry yourself with aplomb and dignity, you shall receive greater luck in finding a mate.
Thin skin is the #1 reason which I do not post much on this forum. A person is not allowed to share personal values or they are shouted down by indignate members or the threads are locked prematurely for risk of offending adults. If feelings are hurt so easily than maybe the internet is not the best place to look for love to begin with? :)

I know StormOwner personally and he definately does NOT have a problem with us bigger (chunky) girls. He's very sweet, considerate and great fun to be around. I got what he was saying right off the bat. I've met guys for coffee and they've shown up in sweats and holy shirts.....looking/smelling as if they haven't showered in a few days. NOT attractive in my book at all. I agree with Storm.....if you carry yourself well and keep yourself well-groomed then it shouldn't matter what your size is...but, if you're unkempt and slobbish...you're not going to attract much. | |
