| Are women into overweight men? Posted: 4/16/2007 9:53:28 PM | Are women into overweight men? SOME overweight men, definately. Same as SOME who are average or athletic. The extremes (obese/underweight), I'm not too sure about. It's never happened yet, but I never say never.
can you all give an example of someone famous that has "a few extra pounds" Let's start with the whole cast of The Sopranos. Yeah, almost the whole cast. And it's the same thing ... some of those guys I find attractive, and some I don't.
Edit:
I am now pushin 300 pounds at 6 feet tall...but the reason I am fat has nothin to do with bein lazy I was in a major accident and I am close to being paralized so if that makes me lazy cause I can't workout then by god I am proud to be lazy.... how the HELLZ you gonna call me LAZY?? James, only an idiot would call you lazy. Don't fret, concentrate on getting well. Best wishes.

| Are women into overweight men? Posted: 4/16/2007 10:19:29 PM | i like a guy with a bit extra weight.. a guy who is skinny is a bit of a turn off. just as being say 50 kilo's overweight is too..
but a guy that is say up to 30 kilos overweight dont care.. and im using kilo's as few pounds.. few this that is a little vague in indications.
just as.. some ppl carry weight alot better than others.. some ppl who are say 15 kilos over carry it great and look good for it.. just as some dont!
so.. all depends but honestly its all about personality.. and chemistry.

| Are women into overweight men? Posted: 4/17/2007 2:23:15 AM | Hmm, the general consensus seems to be a "depends on the type".
As for the comments on "not being active", i am constantly on the move at work, don't over-eat (though i do tend to eat foods that might be considered un-healthy), a few of my mates eat the same sort of stuff, and are less active, there weight just doesn't budge..
i tip the scales at around 115-120kgs (it varies), am around 185cm tall, i look at myself in the mirror, i don't see myself as "obese" BUT, i look at myself in a photo, and its a completely different story (hence no profile photo, i am still trying to find a good one).
saying the sopranos carry "a few extra pounds" is one thing, anyone want to pick some links to random photos from the net that show it?. Cause i can guarantee that someone else of my height and weight will carry that weight completely differently. (most of the sopranos tend to be more on the "big build" side than the "excess fat" side.
as for ladies, i usually have to say its a weight vs shape thing, if that makes sense.

As for me and my preference, I definitely lean more toward a man who is slightly overweight. I'd rather have a cuddly, teddy bear type man than one who is too skinny, simply because I am a hugger and like to "snuggle in" when I am sharing a hug. A bony man just isn't fun to get close to!
I have only dated one man who was medically obese. He was at least 100 pounds overweight, but had the most beautiful eyes and the best sense of humor, so I took a chance and asked him out. The man I am currently involved with is about 25 pounds over his ideal weight, but since I am also a little over mine, it isn't a deal breaker.
Someone in another thread made a comment that has stuck with me. Here it is: "Looks fade, but personality stays the same." It's a shame that so many in today's world spend their time looking for perfection, missing out on knowing some great people.

| Are women into overweight men? Posted: 4/17/2007 9:05:07 AM | james is single.....Some people cannot fathom the fact that there can be medical reasons as to why a person becomes overweight. They assume it's laziness because they are ignorant. Diabetes is a good example, medication is another. I currently have a client who is HUGE (requires a walking frame) just to go to the loo, and he is so depressed it's not funny. He tries to exercise the best he can, he eats the correct food etc, but his medication doesn't allow for him to lose weight, though he tries and tries in vain. I have the upmost respect for him, as he's a beautiful person. Some people need to look beyond their blind spot. | |

| Are women into overweight men? Posted: 4/17/2007 12:49:03 PM | | I lived with and/or dated all body types. It is what's inside that counts. People can lose weight. I have had some fantastic chemistry with an overweight man. I don't have a ceratin body type that I am attracted to, but I do like a more substantial man. I do like tall men, but the one I was married to was 5' 6. | |

But if I've got to lift it up to find the surprise - then that's a bit too much!
yesiamcute -- that is tooooo funny!
But -- that's not to say I wouldn't date him IF he had good hygiene (and good hygiene is tough if you can't reach certain spots), didn't smoke, treated me well, dressed nicely.........

| Are women into overweight men? Posted: 4/17/2007 5:23:55 PM | As with everything, some woman are and some aren't as SOME men like skinny chicks and SOME don't. I, a plus-sized woman (or however you want to phrase it), have a preference for a man with 'a few extra pounds'. Who am I to judge a man's weight when mine is more than it should be? At least a heavier man won't be telling me I should have a salad when I order a burger! It's all personal preference! | |

| Are women into overweight men? Posted: 4/17/2007 8:28:55 PM | What I have been experiencing lately, is that more and more men in my age range seem to be letting themselves go. Men are funny in that they expect an attractive female to be in decent shape, but seem to want to be accepted as is, pot belly, bad teeth etc. If you are looking for a women who has taken care of herself thru the years, then by all means put a little effort into your own appearance. A little extra pounds is really not a big deal, but once you start becoming involved in a relationship, you start to picture what the person might look like with less clothes on. I for one would prefer a gentleman who has made the effort to keep up with himself. | |

| Are women into overweight men? Posted: 4/29/2007 11:52:16 AM | oooh, now Jack Black is a cutie... As SweetTreat said: "some just fall for a guy who happens to be overweight" It's what's on the inside that counts and if that has extra protective cushioning, it doesn't bother me. It definitely did at one time, but tastes change and mine were changed... Or dare I say, broadened? | |

| Are women into overweight men? Posted: 4/29/2007 2:42:44 PM | | My ideal is the linebacker build, so I'd have to say I'm not into skinny guys. I'm a big girl, and I prefer to be with someone bigger physically than myself. Just personal preference. ;) | |

| Are women into overweight men? Posted: 4/29/2007 3:01:57 PM | | It’s what’s on the inside that matters most to me. I don’t care if he’s skinny, average or packing some extra pudge. I am not, however, attracted to the obese or someone who is huge. I’d think a guy like Jack Black would be awesome to date. Sure, he’s pudgy, but I find him exceptionally attractive because of his personality, wit and humor. | |

| Are women into overweight men? Posted: 4/29/2007 9:31:57 PM | I don't let a man's body type deter me from dating him. His physical body is not as important to me as what's inside. That's one of the least important statistics on a man's profile to me. He can be athletic, large, average, a few extra pounds, whatever - it doesn't matter to me. My past bf's have all been various sizes - from thin to obese.
Yes, obesity is a problem and has become much more prevalent than it was in previous generations. I've dealt with being overweight my entire life so I can relate to a man who also deals with this issue. That being said, I can also relate to men who don't.

| Are women into overweight men? Posted: 4/29/2007 11:22:02 PM | I've dated a guy with the washboard abs, and I've also dated a guy that was almost 50 lbs overweight (VERY awkward). I'd go for the abs any day. That is just my personal choice. 20 lbs overweight I could deal with. Maybe. As long as he didn't have a fat face.
