| Why is it that men always want to save some girl with a mean bf? Posted: 4/10/2007 8:36:29 AM | Me Tarzan!! You Jane!!
Come on... you already knew the answer to that question.
Why not ask women why they line up to jump in bed with the guy she broke up with... taming the wild beast maybe? She didn't know how to treat him like a man... right?
Funny thing this attraction Game eh!!

Women don't need chivalrous men. I doubt they've ever needed them. Women know how to solve their own problems, and, more importantly, will only recognize their personal problems when they're damn-well ready to. They use other women (and some unfortunate men acting as "honorary girlfriends") as live mirrors... avatars of their own inner-monologue with whom they can work out their troubles.
Regardless, if you want to know why some men keep trying to save women, then the other men that have already responded to the thread are dead-accurate - understand that the men CARE about the woman they're trying to save. Yes, this care may well be self-interested ("I'll help her out of her problem and then she'll come to ME and we can be together"), but it's still a man showing his compassion and devotion to a woman he thinks is special. And he invests A LOT of time and energy to try to make this happen, most of the time without the result he desires so much.

Hero sticks out manly chest and rides in on charger to rescue damsel (aka self-harming woman) from distress to the sound of trumpets - ta-ta-ta-dahhhh!
Then he slumps in defeat as said damsel runs off with the black knight (booooo hissss!) when she gets bored with our hero's saintly ways (to the sound of a deflating balloon)
'scuse me, but don't women want men to be chivalrous? Well then, there's your answer. Please can you contact all the women who start threads titled "is chivalry dead?" and let them know it isn't.
You'll also read lots in such chivalry threads about the dreaded 'nice guy disease'. This explains why said damsel takes up with another bad boy (Sheriff of Nottingham type) once our knight/nice-guy has rescued her temporarilly from herself.
