Posted: 4/23/2005 5:58:50 PM | Sweetkristine, I agree some content can be irritating and some posters have attacked others but, as Jane Doh points out there are more than a few other posters who more than make up for it. And will jump into the debate fearlessly. I would quote a few names but, I got to thinking of a few and it grew to more than a dozen quickly and then 15 then. Well, there’s a lot of fine folks out here. Just look how fast this thread developed. And you got Ladydi, on a bad day no less, offering you to come on over for some sweet talkin’ You’re a lucky girl.
Oh Yea, it’s a full moon tonight. Don’t care what anyone says: I’ve been working with people all my working career. The full moon brings out the wolves.

| Do people not realize there are REAL people behind the keyboards? Posted: 4/23/2005 5:59:06 PM | My theory is....if you can make someone's life better, do it. If you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything.
^^^there would be a lot of quiet people out there in the world lol.........blah...i dont like mean people lol...even the a$$hole that emailed me and told me i needed to excersise, I replied back..thanks i'll be thinking of you when im having sex, thats a great cardio workout..hehe...cruel, but at least i was nice about it...I just will never understand, why people are just to hateful. Life is way to short to be hateful. My friend who was like a 2nd mom to me, told me that on her deathbed...never forget that

Also a lunar eclipse on Sunday wee hours of the morning. That has a huge impact on imbicilic behaviour but does not excuse it.

Guy emails total email says hi
My profile states hang-out email only want to participate in forums...no mixed messages.
I email back not interested and wish him the best.
He emails back a bunch of nasty names and blocks me so I can't reply!
ok now I am better...had to share an example of not nice behaviour...it burns.

Posted: 4/23/2005 6:23:42 PM | | OHH of course there real my god a computer doesnt show emotion in there sentances or use smileys to express feelings. I've met many people over my years in chat, been to several chat meets and had a wonderful time at all of them.. Never met a bad person in the bunch.. I have many very close friends now that I visit regularly in Missouri, Washington state, and Michigan. I look forward to that list growing. As for being rude.. yes. I admit, I've been rude.. but I"ve never started it.. I have however finished it a few times. I give respect and expect it. Fair enough I'd say. Everyone on here has a mother that loves them and I'd like to think she has good reason if you get my point. Whats that old Cliche?? Oh yes.. Cant we all just get along? lol.. Lifes to short to be miserable. ENOY!!!! Lynn.

SweetKristine, you see how people treat their fellow man/woman don't you? Why would people online, that you can't even see, get any better treatment?
I used to have a much better opinion of the average person, but years of being disapointed have destroyed all my illusions. We live in a very selfish society and world. Most people's highest thought processes never leave the realm of what makes them happy.
This is what makes love so wonderful. True love, healthy love is when someone else's wants and needs become at least as important as your own. If the world was filled with more love than selfishness, why would poets bother writing about it?

| Do people not realize there are REAL people behind the keyboards? Posted: 4/23/2005 7:31:40 PM | | We make our profile to look honest on whom we are ,but we still have our faults. We all are human and we only look for someone who we think is our best match, but even we think that the best match isn't the one.Sure we meet new people but we become friends ,but only online ,but theirs ones you meet for real and find out those things they wrote about themself are not true. But also the ones that become true friends.See the hole purpose of this dating thing is to meet the right person, but it takes the comuncation between two people who have that conection to pursue that relationship. Most of us out here are truly looking for the romance that could last a life time ,but theirs the ones only looking to destroy you or just plainly shut you out, like you don't exist. We look for answers but they don't exist, but we don't give up hope cause sooner or later one day that person will appear ,but we enjoy continue on meeting and chatting finding out more on what we really want in life.Nobody in this world will understand these true meanings we all make these choices to continue..But most of all be yourself ,thats you and no one in this world can change that.Think before you leap!!!!! | |

^^^i guess i'm just nieve online, and in real life, bad experience on here made me question being so "nice and open" to others, when I don't get the same in return...its sad to think that people get their "rocks off" by being mean to others...after this last time, i question myself if i should be so nice w/people online who i dont know...hard to change who you have been all your life though....this guy from my area immed me tonite, we talked for awhile, he asked for my number but i didnt give it to him, becauase i was like what if he was like that last as$hole, and i shouldnt be so nice to him right off that bat...i just don't what to do i guess...be nice, dont be nice...

| Do people not realize there are REAL people behind the keyboards? Posted: 4/23/2005 8:39:22 PM | | ^^^ You know Kristine, when i get a hateful message, my first impulse is to tear into someone fierce (especially if they have easily mockable grammer and/or photo). But I almost always manage to control my emotions and simply delete the offensive message. I tell myself that they are just trying to get a reaction from me so they know that they got to me. The best thing you can do, and the greatest revenge you can take, is to just ignore them. Send them the message that they aren't worth your time. | |

| Do people not realize there are REAL people behind the keyboards? Posted: 4/23/2005 8:48:12 PM | Well, when I first started off online, I didn't really view people as "real" because to me they were "internet people". After some time, I learned that there are real people behind the comments and I changed the way I did things.
I think A LOT of people come online to blow off steam and escape the real world OR they come looking for extramarital affairs OR just one-night stands. So for that reason, the way they interact is changed from how they would in public.
I'm more into being "myself" online (as much as I can possibly be), but that doesn't mean that every now and again I don't get the urge to fall back into my old ways. It takes work as does any improvement.

| Do people not realize there are REAL people behind the keyboards? Posted: 4/23/2005 8:51:23 PM | | Sweet, I cut to the chase very fast. It's the only honest thing to do. I try not to be offensive unless I have felt offended myself. I get the same stuff in return. All's fair in love and war, but remember to leave your computer feelings inside this damned machine and forget it in your own real world. We are just words, and nothing more. When the screen goes dark, we do too. | |

| Do people not realize there are REAL people behind the keyboards? Posted: 4/23/2005 11:55:56 PM | Sweet Kristine,
I am fairly new to the forums yet I have seen your postings in a few I have been in. Just by reading what you say one can tell you are a beautiful, vibrant, caring soul. Don't ever let someone make you feel different.
Unfortunately there are those on the internet that are here for one soul purpose which is playing games. They don't think about the fact that the person behind the computer is a person with feelings and emotions. Those are the people who truly don't care about their own life much less anyone else's.
Never sell yourself short. As I said, you have a beauty that comes from within. A rarity you are, don't ever change. Personally, I can see your smile and hear your laughter when I read a forum you have spoken in. I find that truly amazing.
One the likes of you will go far in life. The man who wins your heart will be a very lucky man.
Take care, Sandi | |

| Do people not realize there are REAL people behind the keyboards? Posted: 4/24/2005 11:05:47 PM | Someone wanted Miss Thang's freshly used panties.....gotta agree on the gross factor there. I've never understood the panty fixation personally, but even if I did, I can't imagine ever just asking someone I've never met for their underwear, that's just way too personal.
I agree that too many feel that they an be rude, crude and tasteless just because they think they won't suffer consequences in what they think is an anonymous forum. Honestly, they're right, it can be anonymous.
I guess it comes down to integrity of who the person is. You just have to blow off those who treat you like that and recognize that they are just poor excuses for a person. In the end, be glad that they revealed their true selves to you before you got too much time or emotion invested in them.

I always say "Do what you can, with what ya got, where you're at". Sure, there's turds among the tootsie rolls (love that cat littler thread...), and you are real sugar candy, Grrl!
