Posted: 2/9/2008 10:43:57 AM | Ok first of all I must say thankyou for coming out and saying I am a jolly fat girl content with her life yet lonely. It is totally ok to feel lonely and maintain self-esteem. Like you I am completely not interested in meeting Mr. Right now as far as I am concerned that's a waste of my precious time.
I would like to add to your comments and say there is nothing wrong with us single girls. As a matter of fact I think it takes a person of great character to stand up and say "I am not going to settle for the run of the mill bullshit that many men attempt to feed us." As an illustration I could be in a relationship with the wrong person if I wanted to compromise myself, beliefs, or morals in order to fight the lonliness. I could have random sex with "Mr. It seemed like a good idea at the time" if I so choose.
Instead, I maintain integrity. I choose to not allow ppl to treat me with disrespect, unkindness, or alterior motives. As a result, I am on a lonely road at times but I am much better off for it. As an example, I am not divorced and living as single mom over some mistake I made in highschool. I am not living with a man who chooses to use me untill something better comes along.
This single life is hard but settling for something not ideal may be harder. | |

I am tired of being alone and I'm just waiting for the right guy to come along. I feel like I'm always gonna be alone. I find that everything I do, well, I'm doing it alone. My kids r almost grown and about to be on their own after high school, so therefore I'm left alone. So I know exactly how u feel.
They say if u hang in there, it'll get better. But, I believe that's bullsh**.

They all want skinny blondes! I am 5'8 and weigh 180 I work out everyday and I stay healthy. I think men are scared of serious relationships, who knows what men REALLY want? I am waiting on Mr Right # 2 and I will be happy if he doesnt come for the next 10 years. I want my next relationship to be a strong one with trust and monogomy. If I cant have that I am content on being alone forever! | |

Posted: 2/10/2008 11:19:59 PM | I just retrieved my things from my ex's house. We met here. He broke up with me in a text message. He offered no real explaination. He gave me the old, "It's not you, it's me". He is a single father and I'd fallen (hopelessly) in love with his two kids. They care a great deal for me too. I had been caring for them.
He was too much of a coward to face me and give me my things himself, so he hid in his bedroom and had his children do the dirty work for him. I hugged them hard and for a long time. I've resigned myself to the fact that I will probably never know what happened or why. I don't get how I could have been that wrong about a person.
Since I left, I can barely breathe.

Someday it will happen for you like it will with all the people that feel the same like you, enjoy life and remember when you feel lonely, there s alot out there like you and sometimes that can make you feel less lonely. | |

Posted: 2/12/2008 9:02:13 PM | I am a 29 year old guy and I have had 4 or 5 girlfriends in my life time and only that lasted more then 3 months, She was my last girlfriend and we broke up over 2 years ago. I have been ready to date for some time now, but Its got to the point now that I don't think I could get a girl if i was walking around a strip club with a hundred dallar bill hanging from my zipper LMAO. Not that I am looking for a one night stand, its just a saying.
But seriously, I look at like this, I don't believe that there is someone for everyone.... and those people that are lucky enough to find love, usually just throw it away in one form or another. Which is sad becuase there are millions of people out there(myself included) that have dreampt of nothing but growing up and finding love and having a family since they were kids, and never will.
But life goes on as they say.....
Just my thoughts, for what there worth

Posted: 2/16/2008 9:33:21 PM | Being alone is one of my great fears. I look at my grandparents who have been married for 50 years and they have built this happy life together. You walk in the house and Grandma has all these pictures of the grandkids up on the wall and photo albums of her and Grandpa and their kids growing up. Grandpa always has a funny memory to share with us grandkids. I even look at my own parents...still happily married for 25 years and I stop and think...Hey I want that!
Then, I do some more serious thinking. I would honestly rather be alone than with someone who I don't feel is the right person for me. Sure I would love to have someone to hold hands with, tell all my thoughts to, and wake up next to every morning...but if it's not the right person...why bother?
I have dated my fair share of men. I get into it and put my heart on the line...only to have it torn apart yet again. The funny thing is that I still haven't learned. I keep putting my heart out there...hoping that maybe this time I'll get it right and it will last forever...and I will keep trying no matter how many times my heart gets broken because I am afraid of being alone. | |

I think I'm just kinda picky, but I know what I want and I don't wanna settle. I'd rather be alone than to be with someone and be unhappy, thats not healthy.. I'm happy for now just being with my kids, but I know the day is coming soon when my kids have their own life and I'm left totally alone :(
So for now I'm keeping my eyes open but I'm in no hurry.. I think you should just keep your eyes open and the right guy will come along :) I know it has nothing to do with self esteem. We just want the right guy :)  | |
