The thought never even crossed my mind.
From the moment I started looking My intention was to find a person I could be happy with preferably the rest of my life. I worked on my profile. I contacted people. I talked to people who contacted me.
I stayed optomistic and accepted that I might get my heart broken or that I may not be successful many times in my search.
I dated several and then she found me.
It took about a year and a half.  | |

I think a lot of us get that fear of being alone forever because we've become such a society of instant gratification. If it doesnt happen quick, we begin to feel like it will never happen at all. Your journey took 18 months. For those of us who've been seriously at this for only a couple months, that provides hope that with persistance we will find what we want.
I know I feel like Ill be alone forever sometimes, but I also know that maintaining that attitude will only cause it to become a self-fulfilling prophesy. So I try consciously everyday to not let that sort of negativity take me over. It isnt easy, but stories like Kazot's should give us all hope! | |

Yup and some days i look forward to it. I am getting the house how i want it and unpacking stuff i kept away for over 20 years. I am starting on the yard and building an oasis outside as well as in. The whole place will be my escape and salvation from daily life.
Then i remember the kids are moved out and i have no-one to be responsible to nor share moments with and all my freedom seems lost and i am imprisoned in fear. Yet for all that i cannot actively search out a mate, destiny will provide or not. | |

Posted: 5/26/2008 10:15:56 PM | i feel what you are saying...it sucks to feel alone.....but hopefully you just feel alone and are not truly alone.....i have family and friends that are just a phone call away and i hope you have that too...if you need a man than that's not a good thing...you should have a man because you want him not because you need him...if you are lonely then get a hobby.....a man will come when the time is right... | |

Make friends on this site, who says that you can't just go looking for friends from all over the world here? Ok, so it's a dating site but still you are not tied down under those rules.
Now once you find that Mr. Someone Special you will have already been good friends and that is what's makes for a good marriage.

As for myself right now I'm working on loving myself, and knowing who I am and what it is I really need, not just want. I seem to be really good at meeting guys that are A) Not ready for a g/f B) Have issues to tend to or C) Can't committ. (and trust me, I know enough to read between the lines on those) So, I'm used to hearing the let down one liners and I'm also used to being the 3rd, 5th, or 7th wheel.....BUT, although it does get me down when I start to like someone and they don't feel the same after telling me how wonderful I am...???...I just think that being on my own is great too. Everything happens for a reason and sometimes its fun not knowing or thinking that one day you'll just bump into him...I don't know. Just smile and live life anyways. All you can do is try right? | |

sometimes the cards dealt to you are so unbelievably sh*tty that the only way to survive with your sanity is to change not just what you want out of life but to change what it means for you to be happy
if you continue in your life unhappy because of something you cant control (someone falling in love with you) then youll always be unhappy
and the chances of you finding that someone will be reduced because noone wants someone who's unhappy
so the best chances for happiness is to find it in the things you can change and accept that some things may never be | |

Posted: 6/10/2008 2:12:30 AM | Yeah girl I feel that way a lot of times. And yes I let it get me down, and I get frustrated feeling like I might be alone forever. I guess I get impatient, I want to finally meet that one guy I was born to love, and when it doesnt happen as fast as I want it to I get bummed. But then again I think, y know, I have stuff going on in my life right now, and I kind of enjoy some tiem alone, some down time, to relax and go with the flow and enjoy life. Someone I know once told me "never rely on someone else for your own happiness" and I have to remind myself of those words, I dont need a man to make me happy. Although it will be nice when I do have someone in my life, right now I can just enjoy life as it is, and when the time is right I guess he will appear. I am a firm believer that things happen in time when they are supposed to and when the time is right, I guess I just have to sit back and let natuere take its course. Man, I wonder how long mother nature waited for Mr Nature ??? LOL Wen | |

But yes, I do feel that I will not ever have a relationship (I gave up on getting married a long time ago.) I have many regrets that I cannot release, and because of my mistakes, I really missed out on some chances in my younger days. It's best for people like me to go on, forget about relationships and romantic love (a pathetic fallacy to begin with), and figure out how we can be of the most use to others in our remaining days. | |

I've been engaged three times and each one has ended because Of drugs, abuse, or because he wanted me to up and move my life to somewhere in the niddle of no where. Well now I'm alone, totally lost, and feeling like I'll be this way forever. The only guys who email me are hte ones who only want one thing, old enough to be my father, or don't like my looks but love my personality and still want something else.
But I would keep your head up I am. There has to be someone out there right? | |

then again only plannin to live till 30 is somewhat of a hinder to alot of women i find, with my life, i'd be lucky to hit that age, i already have the bumps and bruzes people should NOT have in life. | |

i kinda figure A) if i don't find that "real true" person whos made for me an i'm made for them, i guess i'll catch the boat for that next life time.
or B) i'll be well into my late 40's or 50's before finding them..
or C) i'm waiting on a ship that anit never coming...an i might as well get a little closer to myself..."till death do me part" | |

Posted: 6/15/2008 12:27:40 PM | I know how you feel, like you I have also been engaged 3 times and each time it either ended becasue of drugs, abuse or them being possive, not wanting me to spend time with my family nor could I have any friends.....in the past year I have had a proposal and turned him down because they were self centered, his mother took care of his kids and all he worked for was to spend his money on himself....I feel as though I attract guys of this magnatude.....hopefully one of these days I will find one who will respect me for the person I am and not be so self centered......I enjoy spending time with my family and my grand babies I would hope my partner would also enjoy family time wheather it be with my family or his.
I know that when the time is right that special someone will come into my life so I'm not giving up hope for my future. | |
