Sweet, sure but I am old and had a lot of life, so I have accepted it.
Can't really say anything that hasn't been said.
Who cares? ('cept re sex, as you stated and that isn't hard to find if you're gagging and able).
Yes, it is allowed. In fact if you ask Maslow, it's a basic human need. Much better of course inside a good relationship but hey........ they are much more rare.

Posted: 5/13/2005 3:31:16 PM | All the time....It gets real depressing especially around the holidays. All my family live in other states, so here I am all by my self. The holidays are the worst. Thats why I prefer to work Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years.....
One good point, I do travel alot and since I am paying for only one person, I usually fly First Class! | |

Posted: 5/13/2005 4:10:10 PM | Used to feel alone even in a room full of people. That said....you can be alone in a relationship if you are with the wrong person. That to me is a fate worse than being single.
It is no longer even a condsideration to me. I can honestly say that I would fill my life with interesting things....friends, travelling and be no worse off. I don't mind being alone.
Either way works for me.

more easily said than done. Everywhere we turn, society is telling us through advertisment and social traditions that being single is just short of grim death. It's tough to ignore sometimes. It's especially tough when visiting friends with spouses or partners or whoever. Folks who are supposed to represent happiness end up indirectly reminding you that you're alone. | |

It is hard for me to trust, so I try to go slow, but it never fails, I rush into things, and the relationship ends up screwed up. So I think sometimes that it is better to be alone, you dont have to worry that the next person will break your heart too. I know that I can take comfort in the fact that I have my son, and good friends, so I will never truly be alone. I jsut won't have anyone to grow old with. And is that really such a bad thing? | |

People tend to get wrapped up with the idea that they need to be with someone to be happy. Believe me I know. I am 49 years old and always been with someone. I tried to overlook their faults because I didn't want to be alone. I ended up miserable. I was married for 13 years and eversince my divorce have been involved in 3 relationships. The last one lasted 10 years. I truly loved him but knew he didnt love me. He cheated on me several times and I kept making excused because I didnt want to be alone. Especially at my age. But guess what? It has been 6 months and I still have no desire to meet anybody. I intend to enjoy time with family, friends and find new interests. Who know's, maybe over time I will meet someone I want to be with again, but until then I will be positive and learn to like myself alot because I know I am a good person. Hope this will help someone. Life does go on. | |
