If you aren't interested in someone and you certainly don't have any emotional investment, then what's the problem?
Unfortunately many men can't take a polite no and their little feelings get hurt. Having their little tiny egos bruised, they have to seek revenge (upon you for being a miserable cruel insensitive woman - as they see it).
My advice is to never respond to any advance you aren't interested in - even a kind thoughtful polite no.

The profile on that guy would show him to be young, immature, and with a poorly developed ego. While I don't condone his behavior in anyway shape or form, it's not unexpected.
I commend you for answering emails - I do too. However, I think it fair in this case to review their profile and selectively not respond. When I get one from 'luvgurl' that says 'hey baby, i'm str8, how 'bout hooking up?' - that's one I will just delete and go on. From those I can become jaded towards some youngsters and one line profiles, but I'll continue to take a chance on the rest of the nice folk.
Most people who write a decent well thought out profile are also not the sort to flame you for a polite 'I don't think we're a good match' response - IMHO. | |

Really though, did this deserve it's own thread? I mean, your's is probably the hundredth thread detailing a rude reply (and that's just this month) LOL. Just be glad you're getting any mail at all ("no mail / replies" is the next most redundant thread around).

The average person learns not to bother responding in light of rude replies, and lets a few bad apples spoil their behavior.
The exceptional person always politely answers messages, regardless of past rude replies, holding themselves to a higher standard of behavior; Thus setting an example for others so that the world may be improved.
