Posted: 4/15/2008 8:52:47 PM | Having had the good fortune to reach sexual maturity at a young age before the proliferation of terminal social disease I was able to experience a joyously misspent youth. There were a few hundred before I'd reached 21 and relatively few since as I grew tired of racking up numbers and learned the pleasure to be found in committed relationships.
Good sex is wonderful in its own right but making love to someone you actually know and care about makes it pale by comparison. I don't judge another by their past but rather by the future they hope to share with me. | |

Some of them were flings; some were FWB; some were guys I was interested in dating but after a while things just didn't work out; and of course, a few were in relationships. | |

I won't answer that question either, and not just because I stopped keeping track after college and honestly have no idea.
I won't reveal my IQ, SAT, or GMAT scores for the same reason: they mean far less than the emphasis placed on them.
If someone persists, I'll crossly tell them, "Two standard deviations to the right!"

There is no need to lie, for men, we do it to up the number ante with some prick who is asking. Funny thing, you never needed to lie, as after all, it is YOUR life, and if any of the gals remember your name, and drop you onto their Top 10 list, then you did something right for once. It is never JUST quantity, it is Quantity AND Quality.
You can be good at one, or the other, but you will be better if you make the effort to be great at both. You don't get good at something unless you practice it, and you don't get good at something unless you try to be great at it every single time you do it.
Like Rhonnie said, the answer is Proof in the Pudding, won't take long for the real answer to rear it's ugly noggin'.
For the gals, I could care less. Be it 5 or 5,000, I will either have Bad, Normal, Average, Hot, or Awesome sex, and numbers SOMETIMES lie, especially about actual "skill", but experience does help. Like all things, it depends on Person, Place, and Situation. I am not dependant upon them to make ME good, I am dependant upon myself to make me great. It all starts with YOU, and as always, ends UP with YOU.
Plus, remember that HAVING sex, and the ability to do so, never makes you good in bed. Since after all, if you lay enough Pipe, you can still suck as a Plumber. | |

If she had stopped at 1 she would certainly meet your criteria but you would have never met you - chance lost!
We all seek to find the elusive "one" who we are fated to spend the rest of our lives with, if it had turned out to be you that made all others fade into history would that not have been the ultimate compliment?
Would it have been better for her to have been with 5 guys 100 times each than 50 guys who never made it past the first time (when you buy a car do you check the mileage or ask how many roads it's been driven on)?
If you found the woman of your dreams would you want her to kick you to the curb because she decided you'd had too many past lovers?
If you get an honest response to such a question it bodes well for the future of the relationship, would you have been happier if she'd lied and told you that there had only been one before you?
Just food for thought - if you have a standard by which you measure others just be sure to measure yourself first... | |

A person could be 40 and have had 100 partners but no ltr, where as someone else maybe 40 with only 8 partners but has had one or two very LTR. I think I'd be more interested in how one has lived their life in so far as LTR go.
For myself, I have no problem being absolutely honest with my number of partners because I'm choosey with whom I'm intmate with-its my choice. And I know I wouldn't ever be in a LTR with a man who has had 100's of partners (or 1000 like one man posted) because to me it would feel as if we didn't respect the same things. It always comes down to preferences. If that's being judgemental, so be it.

Posted: 4/22/2008 9:37:08 AM | qypo08......One can gain experience in a LTR with partner who is willing to experiment. One doesn't have to be with 100's of people to become a good lover. Though usually in a LTR, one or both of the partners has had prior experience.
It might also be accurate to say that someone who is/was in a physical/intimate LTR will have had more sex than someone who goes from person to person. I guess its all in one's perception of how they view potential partners.

So I found the STD clinic and went and got the full tests available. Also got the shots for (darn), I can't remember the name of the disease but I got all three shots.
I usually do not jump into bed as a matter of course. I'm not on here just for sex but to get to know some people and have real conversations with them. | |

Someone with multiple personalities, does that count as more than one?
If it's true that by having sex with someone you've had sex with everyone else they've had sex with, and everyone else they've had sex with..., you'd have to track a lot of people down to get an accurate number. | |
