Posted: 4/16/2007 10:26:51 PM | | well the only reason i say i am embarrassed is ... i am sure there is alot of women that would also look down on a man for having X number of partners ... as well as the other way around .... but .. when it comes down to it .. you cant change the past .... and dating is still dating .. whether you have had sex with an X amount of the people you have dated with the intention of making something out of it .. then come to find one has just been used or ... kinda gotten down to business a bit early or ... later found out who the other person was ... the real person .... various reasons can keep ones numbers a little higher than the next .... i got to admit i wasnt quite the "angel" .... i am possibly working in the numbers around .. 50 ... but if you look at it that way ... i been active since 13 ... ..... and i am now 30 .... about 3 a year .... but . dating doesnt always turn out how one plans so . your off to the next ... and the next and the next lol ... and numbers just add up ... and my intentions were never to see how high the numbers could go ... just was out to find the right partner .. | |

However, the focus here should be on whether or not safe sex was practiced at all times and if regular testing has been adhered to. If not...one may have been too many.
Quantity in general is a useless abstract point. Age of person now, age of first sexual activity, marital (or relationship) status during any or all of the intervening years are all factors that would skew a response.
I am thinking that the information really being sought is...
1.are you currently sleeping around ?
2.are you capable of a monogamus relationship?
3.are you disease free?
Perhaps, if the asker is insecure of themseves sexually, they are wanting to know if they should feel intimidated by the previous experiences of the other partner. Again numbers are abstract in that quality outweighs quantity in most instances. | |

When I was younger, I asked that question to a female I was dating and considering to have sex with. We decided to write our numbers on a piece of paper and exchange them. This way there was a better chance of getting an honest answer without the one that didn’t answer first fluff their number. Dam, I was floored; her number was 350 at the ripe age of 28. Needless to say, this answer made me feel so inadequate, and caused me to view her as so promiscuous, we never did it. Your number I consider low for your age. Any time someone asks that question, answer it with another question; Is the answer going to make a difference? At age 44, I don’t care about the girls number of men she has been with. What counts is not where they have been, but where they intend to go in their life with you. CAUTION ALERT. Answering that question or not answering that question can have a very devastating effect. On a personal note, If you do answer that question. I think most guys would view you as still being chase in this day and age. However, is his answer going to bother you?

The OP asks a quite different question in her post, which is "what do you think is the maximum number of men a woman could sleep with?
I point this out so no one thinks I am refusing to answer the queston of how many I have slept with, but I am actually addressing the question of the OP. Slick huh?
Quite literally, the maximum number of men a woman could sleep with is most of them. That is natures cruel joke, not mine.
The maximum number of men a woman could sleep with and not be considered a ???? (you pick your own adjective, be it derisive, judgemental or merely mildly negative). Obviously depends on the man and his attitudes. Or the woman and her attitudes. And a womans attitude to what other WOMEN think about her 'stats' is usually far too important in my less than humble opinion.
Some people will put it in terms of how old you are or how many were serious relationships vs how many 'flings'. I look at is as how many regrets she has. A woman who has had only one or two lovers in her life and regrets them has my sympathy, whereas a woman who is in the triple digits and has no regrets would have my admiration and envy-but I know there are few such women. | |

Aside from that harviej...I suppose most women have at least one that they regret, usually the first one I would think. Didn't we all think the first one would be the only one?... the forever one?.....or am I just way too old to be here?
Then there is the school of thought of hindsite....."omg I wish I had done him when I had the chance.....he turned out real good." Of course that may apply to men as well, both the regret of the first time and the ones passed over.

I was married for 4 years and as far as sex goes it only got better and better.Haveing sex withalot of other people dont give you experience.But being with someone that dont mind trying alot differnt things, does.I learned alot with one person and got really good at it.So when I get with a woman now.......Well lets just say there will be a next time.Only because Of being with one woman that loved to try things. | |
