A question I was asked that made me run away real quick ...

Can you get pregnant right now? (He did clarify that he had decided that it was time for him to have a baby in his life, so he was looking for someone who could get pregnant right away)

For me would be...

1. "Wow you are short eh. How tall did you say you were?" (Yea yea I'm only 5', don't hold it against me...)

2. "So you really do speak your mind?" 5 minutes later.... "Wow! You do speak your mind!" <- with foul mouth (Seriously, I wouldn't lie about it...)

3. Of course the usual "Why are you still single?"

The stupidest question I was asked on a first date was: "Sooo..how come you've never been married?"
I replied" Because, no body ever asked?!!"

It's actually not a "dumbest question" rather like the "rudest comments".

I agreed to meet this man after several emails and phone calls. I thought I was in for a fun- filled evening due to our numberous conversations and the common interests and laughter we shared.
Boy was I in for a surprise!! He did not look anything like his pics, I was thinking to myself when he got out of the car " Who is this guy??? he's too old to be only 45, and where are those 6 pack abs he bragged about and what's going on with this Elvis do he's got going on" scary. He did drive up in his red mustang though, that's the only thing he didn't lie about.I suffered through dinner (kept thinking he'd grow more handsome with each beer I drank..)Nope, didn't happen!!! We were finishing up our meal and he looks at me and says "You know, you would look prettier if you had longer hair and you are a little too chubby for my taste." I was dumbfounded and speechless for a fleeting second but recovered quickly. I jumped up knocking over my beer, darn shame, threw my napkin down and got right in his face, nose to nose, and told him he was no prize himself. I threw my portion of the bill down and stormed out of there, he's hot on my heels professing how much he really likes me and how much we had a connection!!! Hello???The whole restaurant grew quite as he's chasing me out into the parking lot. He then stood in the way of my car door and I had to physically move his overwweight butt outta my way. On the way home he's calling my cell and leaving me numerous vociemails, saying he thinks he's in love. He bothered me online and on the phone for a few weeks, I had to change my number and get a different user name. I had myself a bonafied stalker ..needless to say I closed my profile from that site. I know you think I'm making this up, but if by chance you were having dinner that night back in September of 2004 at the Avon "Texas Roadhouse" in Indiana then you might have seen the show.

On a first date...talking about everything from A to Z. Arts, symphony, opera, world events, cooking, our jobs, etc.

I happen to mention in passing that the one thing I never knew about was high thread count sheets, but once I slept on them, I would never sleep on anything else...

She looks at me and says "Are you sure you're not gay?" and me being quick witted said

"Actually yes I am, you got me, I'm just a lesbian trapped in a man's body and you aren't going to do it for me honey because I'm not into bull dykes". Then I got up and left. Oh the look on her face...

Roses from Florist $35
Dinner at Restaraunt $85
Look on her face after I put her in her place? Priceless....

I'm me...period...I don't fit in a neat cubbyhole and all my friends that are gay know for sure I'm not, so if their "gaydar" ain't going off, why she would ask me that question I haven't got a clue. I mean, I was on a date with a woman so where the hell did that question come from?

Hummm? (*thinking . . . dumbest question been asked . . . . ?)

Geeeeze . . . lucky me . . . . what "1st date"?. . .

I came in driping wet from a down pour and apologized to my date for being late. She took one look at me dripping there and said "How did you get wet ?"

I said with a straight face "I ran through a car wash chasing a monkey who had stole my car keys."

I think you were over reacting. Why did you think "are you gay?" was an insult? Are you homophobic?

I haven't been to many dates yet. So far I haven't been asked stupid questions.

^^^Far from it, I have some very close friends who are. I took it as an insult because she was trying to push me into a nice little cubby hole, clarify, classify and quantify and then came up with that question.

Puhleeze. Not all men that go to the Opera and attend plays and / or musicals are gay. I just get sick of people and their need for labels.

Ladies, the response to "Are those real?" is "No, they are just pasted on, and I think the adhesive on the left one is letting go, so I have to go home now and get out the super glue."

While I've never personally (ahem) had to deal with the "How big are those?" question, a friend assures me that "Big enough to smother you while you are sleeping one night." accompanied by a demented expression usually does the trick.

Dumbest question you've been asked on 1st date?

Oh my these are all great. I have SOOOOO MANY I don't know how to narrow it down but i will try.

Lets see...
"how much money do you plan on making when your older? I want to marry some one rich."

"can you buy my friend a drink too?" ok its bad enough to bring your friend on the date cause then you don't really get to knoe the person you intend to meet. The friend always ends up talking more and talking more to your date no matter how talkative and outgoing you get. Don't ask me to buy/ pay for them too I'm not an ATM even if I can afford it i don't want to and I wont( I didn't pay for ather of them after that)

"want to hear about my ex?" or any other question involving her ex... I've herd them all. THE LAST thing i want to hear is anything about an ex. If you can't let things go and you just blab about your ex none stop why the hell would i want to go out with you? You hold grudges, your not over them yet, or for any other resion, nont of which turn out posative. BLAH Bring up the ex in general is a no no. IF you want me to be intrested don't bring it up untill we are closer, other wise i don't want to hear it, I never bring up my exs EVER....

I wold continue.. but an extreamly cute girl just sat next to me.... I'll be taking her home shortly Enjoy every one

Dumbest question you've been asked on 1st date?

Ooh! Ooh! I got one!

Okay, it wasn't the 1st date but the second but I feel this is too good not to share. So far everything was going great. It was, "romantic novel" perfect.

After we kissed she then drops this pile of paper on my lap and says "Oh by the way. This is my CV. Could you give this to your company?"

I was a bit bewildered. I mean, it was only the second date. I politely explained to her that my company was on a hiring freeze (which was the truth) and that I couldn't recommend someone that I had just met over an internet personals site (which is also the truth).

"Oh so, I am good enough to kiss but not good enough to drop my CV over at your Human Resources department?"

This one is true. Just happened a couple of months ago. I was already nervous and I thought I was going to have a heart attack. We had JUST SAT DOWN.

"Do you swallow?"

Instead of being more assertive, I finished my coffee and excused myself. I should have let him know I was offended but I was scared he was crazy!

I would say the dumbest question ( and I have been asked this more than once...) was
"So, have you had any luck on these dating sites?"
The first time someone asked me that I truly didnt know how to answer him!
I mean, if I did have any luck, would I still BE here???

I have actually asked this question, but more in the context of that particular site and comparing funny stories of people you've met that didn't quite work out. I assume they are meeting more than one person as I am, and it's a good topic of conversation since it's where you both met. It also sort of gives me a good read of their personality - they could respond that all women are rude, or he's beating women off with a stick, or he's currently dating another 4 women he's interested in, or whatever.

I still like the guy who asked how well women's ovaries worked because his ex wife couldn't have children, so he divorced her and he wasn't about to waste any time on the next woman if she was barren. That dude was a real catch.

Great thread! Keep 'em comin! : )
