I am a woman who is 6 feet tall and before I go out with a guy I ALWAYS tell him I am 6 ft. tall. Almost always the first thing they say when we meet is "you are tall aren't you?"

A tip for all the beginner daters out there: do not refer to hugging, kissing, or any other form of touching your date as something that should be "gotten over with." Rest assured, if you're with a quality person, the answer will be "no."

when we meet they say, " you really are short aren't you? i didn't think you'd be that short".
well, that's how tall 5' 4" is!!! not very for a guy.

Posted: 4/19/2007 8:20:38 AM | Yikes, I am "only"5'8" and I get the "tall" comment. lol... So many short men out there...hehehe.....I have been asked about all the things women listed on here. I started online dating about 4 years ago, and learned a lot fast!
I just couldn't believe how many dumbass men there was out there! They seem to want to know an awful lot of personal things right away. Once a man starts on any sexual questions as the ongoing topic, I stop the "connection" right away. If they are more centered on my body and not my personality, there IS NO connection! I make it CLEAR in my profile what I want and don't want. But then, the guy needs to READ the profile. lol
I had one man ask me tons of health related comments. He didn't want a woman "falling apart". Yet his teeth were falling out, he said he had to use viagra. He was balding with scabs on his head, overweight, had foot problems, arthritic, and as we talked, more and more of HIS health issues came up lol.. He said he usually only dated much younger women!! But because I looked so much younger he wanted to make sure I was in good health!!! I'm in GREAT shape for MY age (thanks to my genetics!)... He was a several years younger and HE was the one falling apart!!! hehehe... Do people even think before they open their mouths??
Same with the guys wanting to know all about MY finances... red flag!! lol.. usually THEY are either broke or terrified of a woman "taking them for all they got" ....Granted all these things are important. But health can fail anytime, finances are not secure anymore, looks fade, weight can be gained, etc. So LOOK in the HEART and SOUL....Those are the things that rarely change and can get you and your mate through about anything in life.
Usually overconcern about anything is a red flag....
Glad to see though, women here of all ages are getting the same comments as I have been the last 4 years. Good to know its not ME.. Hehehe.. (I knew it wasn't me, just having some fun.)

I was 21 and at a bar... it wasn't really a date... one of the waitresses and I were flirting back and forth all night and at the end of the night I asked if I should go home or wait for her... she said wait
Weeell.. we went back to my house and we weren't there for 10 minutes (talking and what-not) and she pipes up with "Are you going to f@#$! me or not?"
true story...lol
btw. we did wind up having a relationship that lasted for about a year.... no regrets | |

And just the other day, a friend of mine hooked me up with his buddy....I've known him for a while, so I had no problem with hanging out at my house. Mind you, we'd never been out on a date before or anything....in the middle of the movie he asks, " So, where's your bedroom?"
For cryin' out loud dude!!! At LEAST buy me dinner first!!!!
