Posted: 4/15/2007 7:25:34 AM | | Well if i've had enough to drink on saturday night, i will goto the pub and pay for my sunday roast, its well worth the money, cos u get to do the hair of the dog, as i have been doing this afternoon, and i really can't be assed with staying in cooking and all that malarkey.. so much better after the roast dinner now.. and i didn't lift a finger.. fandabbeydosey! | |

A pool - Jan you're so posh!
Not at all posh, but I consider myself very lucky - communal pool, so we are all out there getting the rays before the BBQ gets fired up in about half an hour.

Posted: 4/15/2007 8:10:34 AM | Usually depending on whether I went out the night before as its only for myself anyway.
If went out and am feeling a little fragile I will pop down the local and the landlady will sort sunday lunch... as well as a couple of drinks to level me out again...
If not... Its roast spuds, carrot and swede mash with plenty of butter and salt and pepper... brocolli, cauliflower, beans, peas, cabbage... (depends on when I went shopping last) chicken/lamb/beef/pork... depends what I have in... and whether I remembered to take meat out of freezer in time. 
Also plenty of gravy is required... none of that Granule rubbish! 
I like to take my time and get things just right... I hate it when I have to complain | |

omg this is a must
id have it everyday but must be loads of meat,,, what is it with these veggies or peeps who have 2 slices of meat
many moons ago 1 of my exs came 2 mothers 4 dinner she was like"omg u have more meat on 1 plate than all 4 of our family have",,,,,, guess what never went to hers 4 sunday lunch lol
awww the thought of half that sheep on me plate 2day with roasties n thick gravy | |

Posted: 4/15/2007 12:26:03 PM | I don't have any family so it is rare I have anyone to cook a traditional roast dinner for. Today was way to nice to be in the kitchen anyway, so I have made a herb and citrus crust to top a salmon fillet. It will be in the oven for about 20 minutes and served with a green been and toasted almond salad, and new potatoes which are currently roasting in the oven with red onion, garlic, butter and mint.
There is a nice Pinot Grigio in the fridge, and if you can get round here by 9 you are welcome to join me.

Just wondered if people still do the Traditional Sunday Lunch or Not?
Do you make it at home or go to the pub to eat?
Does it make a difference when you have more people over than your immediate household?
Do you have your main meal at lunchtime or evening dinner? Does it matter?
With the recent PoF meets in mind - Does having a skinful make a difference?
What do you eat on a Sunday
1. Yes, usually at Mum & Dad's
2. Yes - It is always a surprise when I arrive as to who is there at my parents for lunch, can be just the of us or 8, 12, 20... depends
3. Varies on the weather, who is coming and what we are having
4. It is usually a "dry" affair unless, some people pop to the pub for a quick pint before dinner
5. Roasts, or Salads and meats and stuff... | |

Alas I cant cook sunday roasts but theres a pub along the way that does a mean carvery for a fivaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrr
I shall get the afore mentioned oven mended at some point
However I would much rather be lazing round Ms Rookies pool for sure
And for all you people who are gonna report me to social services for lack of oven??
