i found that the older gens were mostly opposed while the newer gens were for it... the stigma attached to tattoo's has diminished and shifted more into the view of it being an art form and a very strong way for a person to express themselves... despite being viewed as a trend by many, most people have meanings attached to their tattoos...
why single out just women with tattoos? men AND women, both - tattoos are great... i know that when i see tattoos that are visible on a person, i'm always curious to see what they mean...
personally - i have a large back piece, spanning from my right shoulder down across to my left waist - various oriental flowers with a Taoist saying written in chinese kanji - "the longest journey begins from where you stand..." as with a lot of oriental art - the flowers all are symbolic... about two months ago, i started on another piece - on my left hip, a koi fish swimming upstream with cherry blossoms floating... it's about halfway done and when completed, it will connect with the back piece via the wind blowing through... another symbolic piece...
like or not - tattoos are an expression of ME... any man that wouldn't date me because i'm inked is too close minded and i wouldn't date him anyways - his loss for not getting to know me for who i am  | |

Posted: 4/17/2007 8:00:25 PM | Very nice art work.... so many people are still closed minded..... they cant appreciate the time, effort and meaning put into a good piece..... you can see so much into someone with the type of tattoo they choose no matter where its at on the body..... from your childs name to a simple butterfly..... it says something to the world....... I wish the closed minded would open their eyes and see it for what it is.... a beautiful art form that takes talent and dedication to do !!!!!! | |

Wreckless1 - you're a nice guy... i don't post all too often on the forums but i do go through and read them on occasion... i've seen you post before...
she hasn't even posted a response to any of this...
and as to me getting work done tonight - i'm in the middle of working on a koi fish - it wraps around my left hip, swimming upstream, cherry blossoms floating in the water... the wind bars connecting from my back piece to the koi... one session tonight and hopefully one session after for completion... so far - i've got about 3.5 hours of work on it... probably another 3-4 hours to go...  | |

i haven't posted pics yet just cuz it's only partially done - but i may be able to get one up after this session - the rest of the water should be complete, cherry blossoms filled in... the fish is already filled in - however, i think we need to add more white - when it healed over, alot of the white ink didn't stay (it's a calico koi - white, with patches of orange and red)

Posted: 4/19/2007 8:33:46 PM | I am in japan here , got a really bad story , hehehe a sailor girl I was giving a tour to my fav spots decided to get a tatoo from a place full of rough looking people some american sailors , one gruffy tatoo guy asked what she wanted , she wanted some words on her lower back in a stylized japanese writing , so he did it , he said he wrote , as beautiful as a cherry blossom or something like that , well I told her she needs to be here to get the touch up , well i wrote it down for the thought , she took her plane back to san diego a few days ago , hahahahaha, it did not say what the tat dude wrote he said .
OMG it says "stick up my a***" to the effect , I emailed , she is not answering me hahahaha this is horrible and funny at the same time I am wondering if she will leave it like that , I will find out when I take her surfing in a couple of weeks in san diego hahahaha man that is horrible , I asked the old guy why he did that , all he said , she wanted that what it said . | |
