Kenny Shields AKA Streetheart.... LONG TIME favorite from the Junior High and highschool ski trip jaunts and all round good ole fun time growing up in the 80's Bar Band.
One of my favourites. I sent a Sun journalist who wrote about meeting them lately, asking if he will be in contact again, whether they have any plans for a concert DVD, especially older footage. Youtube just has really bad cameraphone vids. They were the first live band I saw, headlining for Rush, the Hemispheres concert. I've seen them since, they still have the talent, I'd just sooner see them as they were. Like Bowie, when he was young and "acceptably weird". But not Jacko weird. He wrote back, saying they'll be playing (and he'll be announcing) again next Nov10th. Monday, not sure if I'm off that week, as I work weekdays but there is a week off around then. | |

| Local bar bands ????????????? Posted: 10/5/2008 3:34:44 PM | Just picked up the Cd the best of Franklin records, a 2 CD volume of vintage Winnipeg group recordings. To be fair, most of them I never heard of, but the article in the Freep today was a glowing review so I am taking the chance. So, any of you old farts danced to groups like The Mongrels, the Fifth, Gettysberg Address, Sugar 'N Spice, Mind Explosion, Electric Jug and Blues band or Dublin Corporation? | |
