Is it worth the read?
Yes: If you want a perspective on what drives a certain class of Libertarian. Yes: If you want to understand aspects of Objectivism without wading through much more turgid philosophical tomes. Yes: If you are studying cult behaviour and have included Ayn and her cohort in your net.
No: If you are looking for a book that is entertaining in its own right. No: If you are interested in learning how architecture works or has worked. No: If you are looking for complex characters following a character arc. No: If you are over 18.
Cheers, Mike (it's a compelling philosophy until you think about it)

In that situation, in an objectivist society, I'm sure that there would still be insurance companies that you could go to and take out a policy in the event of an incapacitating"act of God", and if there weren't you could start your own. =) The insurance company would be happy to provide the service to many, and rake in revenues. =)

| Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged Posted: 6/17/2007 12:54:54 PM | Oh please, "get started on Randists." Believe me, we can take it. Haven't done your homework? Don't know who she is? Oh, cut and paste like the masses here, this all makes your position true of course, if you can decide one in 5 minutes. Don't they even teach critical thinking up there? Christ.
I also take exception to Hollywood "screwing-up" any book it ever turned into a movie. Can someone say "Silence of the Lambs"? How about "The Green Mile" to name a few. Thre's always "The Grapes of Wrath." (Steinbeck) Hey, stay home, we don't NEED your money, how's that? Most of you cannot see beyond the end of your noses, which clearly, are pretty damn green anyway. Again, we don't care.
Angelina? Great actress, too beautiful for Rand, unless they make her ugly.
