What do it mean? What does it mean when you look? What does it mean when you don't message someone you looked at? Why would it be any different with someone else?
But, maybe you want a profile review and just didn't say so. Your P says you're "not looking." Maybe that explains some of them? Your P does not say, "Send me a message if you feel like it." Maybe that explains others?
Here's the thing that's confusing people, maybe. Are you on the market? Are you looking to fill up your dance card, or find a partner? Maybe if you said something about that in your P.
In any case, message someone you like. Then another. It's easy!

- they thought you looked hot
- they are window shopping
- they want to put a face to the post they just read
- they're bored
- they're wasting time at work
- they want to know what the other half looks like in different parts of the world
- they're looking for a stunt double
- they're bored
- you look like someone they know
- they're bored

I try not to let it mean anything, because I have had guys add me to their favorites list and not e-mail me. I have the need to e-mail all the guys who viewed me and didn't e-mail me just so I can ask them why, just out of curiosity. | |

the feature is sort of like making eye contact. I prefer to smile when someone makes eye contact with me. | |

Posted: 5/2/2007 7:24:15 AM | Most of us,and I'm being honest,click on a profile because the picture is attractive to us.
It is what initially stirs our curiosity which is quite normal.
I contact very few of the people I view.A pictire might be appealing but it is the wriiten word that is going to inspire me to contact a person.
Example: I see a woman who I find at least reasonably attractive.
In reading her profile,I find her interests,political views,etc are opposite mine.
Some of these I can handle,some i can't.
I look for humor and a wide variety of interests.
I almost always lose interest in someone who lists "walks on the beach" as their main source of recreation.I LOVE walking on the beach; I also am very fond of air.Not necessary to list it is it?
I also look at writing.A poorly written profile with errors such as "your" instead of "you're" might be indicative of someone who does not read or write much and thus we might not be able to communicate.
It would be unrealistic if everytime somone looked at your profile they contacted you.
Better to have somone say hello after they've read your profile and see some things in common and is not just contacting you because of your picture.

Posted: 5/9/2007 8:55:21 AM | I used to love this feature but now it's pretty depressing. I get literally about 50 different views a day and no emails. So much for the law of averages...lol. Some how I manage to turn off 5o women a day which is a mystery to me, that has to be some type of record.
Also with the whole favorites thing. I used to feel good about the 64 women who have added me, but then I realized I found 64 different ways to turn a woman off. I think I should write a book about that one.
Just had to get that off my chest. | |

I like the ones that view you every time they log in for days and days and dont even send you a hello. If I find I am checking someone out for a few days, I will take the first step and contact them....obviously something peaks my interests from their profile. | |

Did you know that you have your email set to only recieve emails from people who live within a certain distance? I've been noticing you all over the boards and was going to pop by and say hi. I live in Texas, but I guess not close enough to lean over and wave! Maybe that's why you're not getting any emails! | |

Posted: 5/14/2007 9:58:40 AM | | viewed your profile,, is a feature you can turn off or on, if they view your profile and dont contact, you it probably means there is something there whether it be looks personality,age range, could be a bunch of things they dont feel compatible with, , curious about what the person is like behind the picture, where they are from, all reasons,, dont take it personal,, heck i have a few guys check my profile, kinda disturbing there but, it may be something said on a forum and they want to know more about the person that said it. | |

If someone was looking at you in real life, would you freak out that they're looking at you? No. People browse other people on this site no different than in real life. The only difference is that only a scant few things:
-They know if you're single or not. Can't do that just be looking most times in real life.
-They know a little more information about you, based on what you share on your profile.
Just like someone said earlier. The only thing meant by looking at your profile is just that: they're looking at your profile. | |

Posted: 7/12/2007 1:18:00 PM | People who view your profile are often - probably most often - just shopping 'Show who is online, or Search. The tiny thumbnail photos are quite often too difficult to see without opening the profile. So - people click to see the photo better and they might read the profile.
The 'Viewed Me' feature ought to have a timer. Less than 10 seconds should not register as a visit.
Also - some are just shy, some are as I do 'cataloging' for later contact, some weighing and evaluating - going back to the profile to clarify or see what they might have missed - some, well their just brain dead.
Besides - why not contact those who viewed you - at least some of them that catch your eye?
I do this and it seems to stir up some conversation.
