Winks, to me, are lazy....nothing personal or special about them....the person winking could be going through the site winking at every photo they like. Granted, you plan to "charge" points for the privilege, so the rampant, indiscriminant winking will be less likely, but still.....meh. Not fond of the wink idea. | |

How about also adding a blackeye symbol as a possible return shot? Send a wink, get a blackeye, little doubt that he/she <<<< (Not to be confussed with another thread) doesn't wish to continue this romance.

What are you trying to accomplish with winks?
A quick expression of interest of one to another?
Some way to reward members for using the site?
Some way to reward members for contributing value to the site?
Some way to show users who's the best?
Make your site more like every other site?
Accumulating winks may be a morale booster to some, but if it's a point rating system, then you're putting a "value"/"label"/"rank" on people which I would discourage. Don't tell me how many winks others have received.
If you are committed to the "winks" concept, start out with 100, and add back up to 3 per day as they are used. Maximum 100 in the bank. Forget about earning them. Let me know how many winks a user has in the bank. People misunderstand the purpose of roses, (admittedly roses are somewhat subtle), are winks so simple that they won't be misunderstood?
generalize it to a group of emoticons - a single button click sends a trolling emoticon, a beer emoticon, a dinner emoticon, a wave emoticon, etc...
There are emoticons I'd rather not see, e.g. the green bouncing ball, the drunkard, I'm not a big fan of the banana, but he has his place, I guess.
Some things I'd like to see
- I've viewed this person's profile, I'm not interested, hide them from my match list in an "I don't think so" list. You could go back to this list and remind yourself of who you've excluded, maybe you'll change your mind, let them back into your pond.
- username below image when looking at matches/viewers - my memory is poor, the more help you give me there, the better | |

Now this is a great idea. Anything added to any date site should help to improve your chances of meeting someone. I don't care much for winks, emoticons or roses. I'm not a child I know how to express myself and if I want get someone's attention I'll email them. | |

Visions of B-Movie "Summer Camp" movies - demerits! - flash in my brain. I don't want "points" deducted, but I also don't want to send out "winks." It's just not my nature.
Points can be spent on winks. Each wink costs 20 points
Even more confused. But after I finish this post I'm going to do a search and try and figure out what this is all about.

The roses are nice because that says "I like you and want to know more about you". Give us more roses. Not too many, just a few. Also, I like the idea of a "Thanks, but no Thanks" reply that you can send.   | |
