Is, uh,... Is your wife a goer, eh? Know whatahmean, know whatahmean, nudge nudge, know whatahmean, say no more?
Aaaaaaaah bet she does, I bet she does, say no more, say no more, know whatahmean, nudge nudge?
Snap snap, grin grin, wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more?
Cheers! | |

| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/18/2007 10:05:04 AM | I don't need the winks, points in getting someone attention, its called sending email. | |
|
| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/18/2007 10:53:31 AM | I kkinda like the points, it me the option of sending something special, to the special man i am talking to. I think it is cute. | |
|
| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/18/2007 11:31:54 AM | Anyone else have any bright ideas
It would be nice if the winks were subject to the same restrictions as the email. If winks are just a way for the people you have filtered out to contact you anyway, then they make the filters a step closer to pointless.
And a way to delete winks would be nice.

Could we have a system that lets us keep a list of people we have contacted. This could be within each account and only available to me (for instance).
It's there already. I can only hope you read this because your restrictions won't allow me to write to you. Go to your sent messages, centered above the messages is a click 'here' link. You'll then be able to toggle between people who contacted you first and people you contacted first.
Hope this gets to you, maybe someone local could pass it on to be sure?

The winks are gone! What happened?
They've been replaced by the even more pointless, 'virtual gifts'...

Marcus, if it ain't broke...
I agree with the yetti Too many changes here are making this become a not so fun free place to be.

| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/18/2007 1:15:50 PM | | Winks, points, gifts, flirts, whatever....cheesy and ridiculous. We are adults over 18 here, right? | |
|
| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/18/2007 1:23:18 PM | Likely admin is still blinking out a few of the loose eyelashes in the winks. The gifts/points and wink were working earlier. As far as if it's not broke...each change I have seen lately has been for the purpose of helping people feel more comfortable about making a contact. How many profiles read...I am shy initially...perhaps this will be the one change that will let them make the first step. Not everyone can write an insightful or attention grabbing 'first hello' contact. If you are harrassed by overuse of the accessories, perhaps inform the admin or the mods to help define what type of restrictor would suit most people with that problem. | |

|
| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/18/2007 1:47:20 PM | Personally if I see no roses ...I figure they are really interested in a couple of women and avoid them.
Don't jump to conclusions about the roses. I have sent a number of them for a number of reasons. One friend had a son in the hospital, one (a female friend) was just having a blue day and needed to be cheered up. I have male friends on here who use the roses for those reasons as well.
As for the points, I am 100% not in favor of the points. Don't like it. Like the roses, it is too easy for people to read into it. Why does someone have a lot of points? Why a small amount? They already assume that if you are sending roses they are going to potential love interest when that is not always the case.

I think winks are just a way to avoid saying something of substance. the women already complain they get too many 'hey whats up' messages.....a wink would be even worse. And the points system? thumbs down.
Good point. If a first contact was a wink,...what the heck does that give me as a lead in to a conversation? None. I would view it with the same opinion that I do an e-mail that only says "hi".... uh,...ok,...not a big talker, lazy, or nothing upstairs? Either way, I'll move on without him.

| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/18/2007 2:17:22 PM | I liked the winks, and yes I'm pouting.
It was a nice way to let friends or someone you've been chatting with, know you were thinking about them. Why not? Same with the gifts. What's wrong with sending something to someone to make them special? Is it not a nice thing to get the wink or the gift in your email? It is like getting a card in the mail. We all enjoy that.
If you don't like it, don't use it but geez, try to have a little more fun in your life. Hasn't anyone figured out that it really is the smallest thing in life, which can bring the most pleasure? Think about it. You get smiled at on the street by a stranger and you smile back (well I do anyway), and it makes you feel good. Not that you have to wink at everyone who winked at you but its the same feeling.
I know, preaching to the choir that's already decided to go with the stoic hymns rather than the uplifting gospel.

| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/18/2007 2:33:12 PM | | they're gone now...so are the gift thingies. I already had a wink sent to me...now it's gone! I thought it was a cute idea. | |
|
| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/18/2007 3:21:16 PM | Ok... The gift thingees are still on the email page. That one is kind of lame (imhop) but I did kinda like the winks thing. Wink someone and they wink back... might be more inclined to start a conversation. Email is ok starter, but kind of tiresome sometimes to spend the time on a thoughtful email and have it deleted unread. ;-) ;-)
Maybe moot, maybe not? At least all these changes in the last week or so have brought about some lively (to say the least) debates. Sure April 1 is past? How many points for a virtual wet mop up side the head?

I live between 2 very large cities (within 50 miles) and the same guys keep coming up, ... all the time! I'd rather see the present features improved before adding new ones.
Thanks for dumping the winks, nice thought, but POF is just fine how it is. I'd rather see what we have honed a bit instead of expanded. You already have a great site!
Thanks! | |
