| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/18/2007 7:10:40 PM | | I see that POF does nto have the winks anymore. Honestly I keep saying this, IF someone is interested in someone they should just flat out send them a msg. The other thing is, If anyone uses myspace, POF should give options about things to choose backgrounds to spice up ones profile back ground, etc. | |

I'm not interested in moving into this site so any home reno ideas can be left off the table thank you.

| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/19/2007 1:44:04 AM | I could see problems coming on the horizon if the winks had stayed
hundreds of threads starting with 'why did she ignore my wink?'
' why are people so rude? not responding to winks'
Another thing about points is, it always somehow becomes a popularity contest. Like how many friends you can get on myspace. Or how much soul you can get on message boards. Total waste.

| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/19/2007 5:13:42 AM | Ah I liked the winks. The way I see it is he winks, I like what I see I wink back, then we email. Saves face in my opinion you got the ok to contact the person, no feelings of rejection, shyness is overcome great!!!! If you don't get a wink back it's obvious, no more complaints because of read deleted.
Roses are for that special someone, unless the changed the be mine on them.
Viewed me does not necessarily mean they are interested in further contact, just what it says viewed me no more no less.
That's my take on the new features, Oh I love the mouse-over on the pics.

| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/19/2007 5:40:26 AM | Finally!!!!!! Somethign besides a rose that says "BE MINE" ... BE MINE is jsut waaaaayyyyyyyy too intense to be sending out to a bunch of strangers. Heck I don't know If I even want to email these guys next week. I sure don't want to say BE MINE to them!! Yikes!!
Ahhhhh yes, these gifts are cute, I like them. Problem is I just sent one to a Chinese POF (H&S :-)) friend of mine and he told me the custom in China is that when you exchange a gift, it means you have to start dating. Wow. Ok didn't see that coming.
These fancy changes are fun but don't forget the BASICS...
...Once in a while you need to bring in the HAZ-MAT TEAM to clean out and dredge the pond.

| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/19/2007 5:58:14 AM | Yes, the 'gifts' are much better than a rose that says "BE MINE"!
Glad the winks are gone.
And really like how the curser over the profile photos enlarges them! Thanks!

| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/19/2007 6:06:52 AM | OK to teddy bears, et al. I like the range and levels. Can't go wrong with sending a cuddly Teddy! Yep, I'm converted, wished I could go BACK to all my sent unread messages and give out a few more Teddy's. THANKS, better than winks.
In 2 months it will be 6 months til Christmas, is that why they are still hanging in here.?

| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/19/2007 6:27:40 AM | Well it is too bad the wink bashers got their way. Winks go hand and hand with this kind of site.
Flirting/wink - same as giving an internet smile - same as saying "hi I noticed you".
I personally got a burst of activity in that short time the winks were working. It gave some shy gals a way to say something.
It is sometimes tuff to say anything in a first email - a little wink says a lot without trying to fumble for words.
But ....... the bashers got what they wanted I guess. Can't please everyone.
I won’t be sending any of those little “pictures” to anyone - but I would have used the winks.

| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/19/2007 7:18:57 AM | Blooooody hell Ron......
If women don't respond to emails then they aren't going to respond to winks, smiles, slaps or tickles. Women don't send emails. They only respond to what they get if they do that at all. This place is starting to look like a video game.
|
| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/19/2007 9:09:26 AM | mfh2112 I'm with Ron on this one. It is hard for some shy people to respond. I have friends who dont know if they should respond to someone who has viewed them. Personally, I respond to all email as it is just polite and right in my books - I view a message as a compliment. However if a man viewed me and then sent a wink, I would know that he was intereted in learning more about me and that would create better conversation.
I wish they would bring back the winks, myself..............................if they were there, people who wanted to use them could - the rest could ignore them as they do the roses until they find that someone special to use it on.
|
| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/19/2007 9:16:05 AM | Sorry folks but I just think that you're over complicating what should be a very simple activity. If there are people who are far too shy to send an email then that is a behavioural modification problem and they should seek counseling. If someone views your profile then email them and ask. There is no risk involved here. | |
|
| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/19/2007 9:37:15 AM | It was distracting from the site.
I think if I allow winks it will be for women only. Women were sending a LOT of winks.

I have the same opinions as Ron on this. I think it's a shame the winks were taken down - they are ideal for PoF.

| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/19/2007 9:44:12 AM | | I liked the winks too. I got a few from shy guys who werent ready to email so I just emailed them first. I thought it was a good idea. | |

| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/19/2007 10:53:18 AM | DITTO.mfh: what makes anyone think that someone will reply to a wink ?
If guys/gals don't reply to a brief pleasant and sometimes flirting email now, what's a wink going to do? What are you going to do, spend your entire relationship winking at each other?
Now a Teddy is sweet and long time significance and a beer is cool, but not so big thank you, don't want it getting hot too soon.<img Keep the winks for the profiles and forums they are a good tool in those places .

Oh and if you are going to send me virtual chocs and we plan to meet, please bring dark chocolate i.e. high cocoa content as they are healthy!
Real chocolates don't give you real diabetes so I doubt that would happen in the wildest imagination in the virtual cbyernet!

| New Winks and Points. Posted: 4/19/2007 11:55:06 AM | Shucks, I was too busy reading the forums about winks and I didn't get to send any. Ya'll upset my apple cart! :
