Posted: 6/18/2007 8:35:53 PM | Hey I may actually be in to this... anyone interested in flyfishing the Snaring or the Athabasca? Lots of Mtn Whites and rare atahbasca rainbows.
I've hmmed and hawed... as long as I dont have to work... I'll be there.... Jasper is my happy place and will take evey chance I can get to be there.....
heck even if I have to work... I'll be up Saturday night
If your into mtn biking, and you want to challenge youself.... Lets do a trip on Saturday night trail.... 20km round trip....2.5 hours up...45 minutes down.... make sure you have a lid for this one though...

As said above, the math says one plus two equals four because ome of them will bring a snuggle bunny, which means two tents. Still 7 bones pp or does that change the rate for two tents?
Daughter unit asks?- Are there flush toilets and showers?

Posted: 6/19/2007 8:42:46 PM | I have to agree with you RichardSMLD...Happy Place indeed!....I've been to Jasper, almost, every second weekend since spring started! (caught a 'rainbow' at the Athabasca Falls June 2nd! Good stuff! (Will be posting the pics to prove it!)  ...lol
On that note...would it be possible to be (somewhat) taught the fly fishing technique?...shown the ropes, if you will? or at least watch?...I love fishing and I KNOW it's not the same...but....... it would make my weekend!  ...seriously...
I realize fly fishing takes years of practise! If nothing else, the opportunity to WATCH it, in person, well....all I have to say is 'The River Runs Through It'!....hehe
Can't do the bike thing because I don't have one!...LOL...but if anyone is into the hike at Maligne Canyon...I'm in!....Beauty at it's best!...or golf?...(wait! we'd have to rob a bank for that...nevermind!)  | |

There MAY be lakes... (that look crystal blue and almost tropical)..... but they're pretty darn icy...hehe....

Posted: 6/19/2007 11:52:53 PM | I'd be happy to show you how to flyfish.... I'll bring one fmy xtra rods.... we can hit hte snaring... the mtn whitefish always like to come out to play. Jus tremember to buy a licence..... You can get them at the fishing hole or at the fishing center in Edmonton, or at the park gates or at On-line tackle in Jasper. Unless your going to Jasper more than once, I recommend the 3 day or 1 week licence...
THe rating of the mtn bike trail????? hmmmmm? not sure, but I'd rate it as my favorite ride..... lots of climbing, and a fast descent.
OBTW, I'd love to see the pic of your rainbow..... where did you get it out of? I may have missed that.... sorry  | |
