| Camping in Jasper August Long Weekend

I'm bringing my man-cub (turning 17) and two of his buddies too. They get their own tent though.
If you're gonna tarp over the tent, don't use rope, get bungees so the tarp stays tight even in the rain.
Additional items: food cooler (with food in it), booze cooler (with... nah, if you don't get this one...), garbage bags, firewood, grill (unless your food cooler has no food), 2 rolls of butt wipe (counting on the parks people to restock is a dream), spits, (2) LED flashlights, steel toe sandals (chopping wood?), bacon, roasting sticks, ice, a Swiss army knife, Spiderman PJ's (all the rage this summer) AND, if you sleep til noon you get to skip breakfast food requirements. Tough to do though, considering all of the bacon everybody else is cooking.

Posted: 7/29/2007 9:57:07 AM | hmmmm......some things cleared up and I've signed up with my rug rat! we've been gathering all our equipment and such....been a very long time since I've tented....so would definitely appreciate any help from anyone who does this regularily! lol! I'm a fantastic cook though, so favor would definitely be returned! I'm with Soul M8 - Steaks on the pit, with shrimp, stir fried mushrooms, fresh veggies, special potatoe mix, wine......now thats quality camping! woohoo.....and for dessert......Smores......yummy! hopefully won't be quite as hot as its been, gonna bring a few gallons of water to enjoy! Just wondering how many kids are coming? Is there water or electricity at the sites? do the bathrooms have showers? inquiring minds want to know!!

Posted: 7/29/2007 3:46:43 PM | I don't think I'll be camping, but I can pop out with my mountain bike if anyone wants to do some riding, and I'll be around for a campfire etc. I'll bring a guitar and we can do Karaoke unplugged. LOL I'll play and you all can sing.
Or I can be forced to sing. :)
I can probably drag a buddy along for the day as well. | |

Ok I think I'll have enough wood, all jack pine two loads i have or one real big one and yes, i drug it all out of the bush...party at my tent...lol. Is there anyone from the grande prairie area that is going and would like to carry some? Is there anyone from the grande prairie, whitecourt area that needs a ride to get there?

This may be an odd request but I was just wondering if anyone would have room for a couple of sponges and a cooler???....It's not a necessity but I just won't have room for them in my little car! I can handle not sleeping on a sponge but the berverage cooler? Not a chance!!! I just don't think I can go without it! ......

and TheChic..... bring your clubs... both my friend and i are golfers and are bring in ours! great courses in the area!
