| Anime Posted: 4/23/2006 6:29:56 AM | My all time favorite to date is Full Metal Alchemist. The plot is phenomenal and the underlying themes are truly worth analyzing. “One can not gain something with our sacrificing something of equal value” This is so true. I know there are people that seem to go around this concept but if you look close enough you see that even the powerful have lost something.
LUST is…well ..ya | |

| Anime Posted: 4/24/2006 8:44:56 PM | | Since there are no real good anime channels here in Canada with shows that I would want to watch, I dont watch much, most of the shows I have seen like Evangelion and Naruto are far too lame for my liking. I have seen Chobits though, its a good one. | |
|
| Anime Posted: 5/3/2006 12:52:54 AM | if ur in canada, u dont need a tv channel. only high speed internet. if u have internet u can get the gold.
Ive seen most of the shows on TV years ago, let me emphasize that YEARS ago. give naruto a chance but after ep 140 naruto is just all crap. Ive never gotten a chacne to see chobits.
all time fav anime is Berserk, then Gantz. I semi hated full metal because it would get good for 3 minutes and then turn into a 8 year old anime, then it would go mature again for another 2 minutes in a diff ep to go back to being kiddy. the story and kiddy morals didnt do much for me though.

Lesse, some of my favorites.
- Samurai Champloo (Strange mix of hip-hop and Japanese culture, but I love it) - Trigun (The first Anime series I ever got into) - Hellsing - New Getter Robo/Getter Robo Armageddon (Nothing beats a robot cleaving Jupiter in half.) - Fooly Cooly (Very strange series) - Vampire Hunter D - Howl's Moving Castle - Spirited Away - Ninja Scroll
|
| Anime Posted: 5/7/2006 2:56:17 PM | Evangelion and Ghost in the Shell (movie and tv series), both are complex and challenging. However Samurai Champloo gets in there too.
Favorite Character would be Mugen (from Samurai Champloo).
|
| Anime Posted: 5/7/2006 6:00:19 PM | Must say I'm really liking Blood+ atm. Bleach and Naruto were awesome till they went to filler eps. -_-
One of my fave characters has to be Sagara Sousuke & Kaname Chidori from Full Metal Panic. Jus love how hopeless he is, and resolves everything with guns XD
My first post as well *^_^*

|
| Anime Posted: 5/10/2006 11:15:08 AM | There are plenty of things I enjoy in anime, but my consistent favorites are all by Hayao Miyazake...great art, stories adults can relate to, and a lot of just-plain-fun stuff!
Not surprisingly, being a pilot, my very favorite is Kurenai no buta, or Porco Rosso, and not just because I love his gorgeous crimson seaplane. There's a lot going on in that story that's fascinating to me...
|
| Anime Posted: 5/22/2006 4:17:36 PM | My all time favorite anime series is Sailor Moon, I own the whole series as well as almost all of the music and all the movies. I'm a girly girl lol...

I just fell in love with FInal Fantasy VII:Advent Children last night...true it's not exactly anime, but still the CG is awesome in that movie, and it's finally available in America.
Feel free to send me a message...I love talking about anime!!
I lso have a slight obsession with bishies, proper term bishounen, or the pretty boys of anime...I like the good looks and pretty hair LoL...

| Anime Posted: 6/9/2006 10:07:29 PM | OOH! I LOVE ANIME!!!! I love to draw, paint, read and watch anime! lol. I love Mangas more though, I like to read them more than I like to watch. I'd have to say that my favorites are
Chobits- fave character from there -Kotoko, she's hilarious because she is sumomo's complete opposite! Fave scene, 2nd or 3rd episode, 1st book, When Chii makes Hediki's nose bleed while reading one of his "magazines" lol.
Inuyasha- fave character from there- Kirara- She's so darn cute, and she's actually useful in battle. Fave scene, Anytime Kagome says SIT!!! especially when he's in a tree or on a bridge.
Ceres- fave character from there- Mrs. Q -She reminds me of my grandma. Fave scene, When Toya pushes her from the tree after kissing her... I find it hilarious when on mute! I think that's the 2nd episode.
Fruits Basket- fave character from there- NEKO-CHAN~!!!! He's so defensive its crazy.. also he's uber kawaii!!! Fave scene, When they all change into their animal forms for the first time and Yuki calls Kyo-chan a "Baka-neko"... I call my cat a Baka-neko now lol.
Naruto- dont have a fave character, but I do enjoy watching the series
Sailor Moon, Sailor Stars- fave character from there- Luna. She's smart, loyal, noble, and brave... A true friend. Fave scene, When the girls are showing the "starlight" dudes their membership cards, and Ami is member #25, platnum plated card, oh, but she doesnt know much about them! lol! (note: I did like the series as a whole, but could NOT stand that pink-haired thing called "chibi-usa". She was loud and annoying and SERIOUSLY drove me bonkers!)
I LOVED Perfect Blue, not a series, but a damn good movie. I had to watch it like 3 times in a row just to get it. lol. Its confusing but good.
Princess Mononoke. Fave character from there- Yukule (did I spell it right??). I love that little red elk! He's so cute, and plays a part in the movie, he's not just humor or anything like that. I seriously hated Lady Eboshi... She actually made my blood boil.... oh well, its just an anime lol.
Samourai Pizza Cats. Dont have a fave character, but LOVED it when they'd break the "4th wall" and admit that they were an anime! lol it always made me laugh.
I'm not sure if Sonic is an anime or not, but it was a cool show in the 90's, then it got boring. lol. I liked Miles "tails" personally.
I adore anime. My fave character to draw is Chii because she's easy to put into any position and make it look innocent, even if the position she's in is considered a sexual one. lol.

| Anime Posted: 6/10/2006 12:31:13 AM | Im not too big an anime fan. Im into the cartoons made for a north americian audience a lot more. I don't know why, I guess the style is just not for me that much.
Things I have liked though.
Teknoman
Vampire Hunter D
Gundam Wing was okay but the Hiro and Relina thing and the moaning about peace got annoying after a while. Colonel Zech's made the series worthwile though.
I saw some Hellsing, liked it okay but didn't feel motivated enough to catch all of it. Was pretty cool though.
Akira, was okay don't remmeber much about it now though.
Ghost In The Shell, I saw the running series but never saw the movie. It was pretty good but I have yet to see all of it.
Kenshin from what Ive seen is pretty okay.
Thats pretty much the only stuff Ive gotten into thats anime.
Oh and some of the Anime Transformer cartoons but they all really suck and their badly animated. Sure the original 80's cartoon was bad but it could be forgiven for being made way back when. Beast Wars is the only good series really and it's Canadian.

Manga: - Cross - Saiyuki - Chrono Crusade

| Anime Posted: 6/14/2006 9:45:07 PM | Hm.. Haven't watched anime in a while (art school tried to bash any like of it out of me completely..) But some favorites are Cowboy Bebop, Weiß Kreüz, Vampire Hunter D (new and old), and I admit.. ..marmalade boy -cough- -_-;
Hm. Favorite characters from those would be:
CB: Spike first, then the rest of the cast minus Faye, then Faye. WK: Yohji first, then the rest of Weiß + Manx & Persia, then the rest. VHD: D. Yep. MB: Yuu & Miwa
I'm sure there's other fav shows and characters I'm forgetting.. ah well.
OH, and Miyazaki's done some amazing films - my favorites of his are Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. Especially PM.. something in me could relate to San somehow.. heheh.

| Anime Fans Posted: 6/16/2006 8:19:38 PM | | Oh and you're not the only one who watched Gungrave. I loved the series. Thought the idea was pretty damn cool. Brandon heat is a hell of a badass. | |
|
| Anime Fans Posted: 6/18/2006 4:51:43 PM | | I love anime. My favorites are those that make you think (gundam seed-what are we fighting for?), show that people may be something on the outside that they are not in the inside (karekano-many smile on the outside but are overwhelmed by sadness on the inside), sacrifice (Twelve kingdoms-do I stay and save this strange land or go back home?), just plain fun (Love hina) or are just plain entertaining (Cowboy Bebop, Lain, Fullmetal panic, Fullmetal Alchemist, Nadesico, Cobra, Saint Seiya, Samurai Pizza Cats, Rayearth, etc.) | |

| Anime Fans Posted: 6/20/2006 10:24:26 AM | | I watched 3x3 eyes a year ago. It doens't have the best motion pictures, but the story is definitely wonderful :) | |
