| Just for fun: What was your first car? Posted: 2/12/2008 3:18:31 PM | My first car was a 1974 Plymouth Duster. It was brand spanking new and a very basic model.. complete with no radio, a 3 speed column shifter and was a six cylinder.
My mother paid cash and I spent the next 11 months paying her back. It was a whopping $3,000 dollars!

| Just for fun: What was your first car? Posted: 3/26/2008 8:19:08 PM | | My dad bought me a 1972 FIAT four door sedan for my 16th Bday - yes - A Fix It Again Tony & looked like a little kids drawing of what a car would look like. $200.00 original cost used and about $800.00 in towing and mechanics to try to figure out the short in the electrical system. Ditched my Fiat for my first car I bought on my own - a Baby Blue Chevy LuV.... I loved that little truck too. | |

Thank god they were made from real sheet metal back in those days. Now have a 71 Dodge Superbee. It's got a 440 with a SixPack set up (3 two barrels). Who gives a s*** about gas mileage. lol. True muscle car.

| Just for fun: What was your first car? Posted: 3/29/2008 11:19:14 AM | A blue, 1984 Mercury Marquis... It was the same body style as the Fords the cops drove, so I thought it was fun to drive reeeally slowly like I was "on-duty" when I would drive on neighborhood streets at night. It made me giggle when people would start driving like angelitos when they saw my headlights! | |

| Just for fun: What was your first car? Posted: 4/1/2008 1:06:45 PM | | A '56 Chevy 2-door (sedan, and not hardtop, unfortunately.) Six cylinders and Powerglide, with navy blue Earl Scheib paint. I sold it for a song to a kid and his Dad who just wanted the body, because they planned to make a hot rod out of it. | |

| Just for fun: What was your first car? Posted: 4/1/2008 7:07:48 PM | My first car was a yellow 1974 Ford Pinto. It was a hatchback. That car got me up and down the Califorina coast. I really enjoyed having it for a while. It cost me $400.00. You can't get a horse and buggy for that price now. The poor car died while I was in New York City because the friend (who was only to drive it just to keep the battery alive) ended up using it for his main mode of transportation. Oh well, "Old Yeller" lived a great life. | |

| Just for fun: What was your first car? Posted: 4/3/2008 12:33:43 AM | My first car was a 1980 Jet Black Z28 Camaro...the last year with the cut front.
This car was gorgeous, black or chrome everything, all leather interior, booming stereo system, and ffffffffffffffffast...
One problem though...
The damn thing musta known when my pay day was because every time I got moolah, that darn car needed some thing else fixed!
One other story about "her"...
So I had this car right out of high school & met this lil dance team girl from the neighboring town. My pal and I decided to detail the car and we Armor Alled the bahjesus outta the leather interior.
Well we pick up my girl friend and we're cruising around town when we get alongside this other car full of young 'uns so of course I have to put 'er down when the light turns green and squeal the tires...
My girl friend, who made the mistake of wearing those Nike parachute pants proceeds to go from one side of the car crashes into the other then gets sling shot right back to where once she came from...of course hitting her head on the roof of the car on both trips as well as getting her tush bounced senseless from going over the camel hump between the seats...
The best part, I caught the whole "show" if you will in the rearview mirror! Try as I may I just couldn't keep from laughing at her not so good fortunes on this particular adventure...It was like watching a pinball bounce off those bumpers! Of course we broke up a few days later...apparently my laughing made me an insensitive jerk...I wish I knew whatever happened to that car...I sure do miss her
Good topic Gang! Thanks
