I am a compulsive -er. It comes in stages too. For a long time I just had the page, and never wrote notes. Now, whenever friends do an interesting 'quiz' type-thing, I steal it and post it with my answers. For a long time that's all I did. Then, I slowly became addicted to posting videos from Youtube, I posted 20 in one evening! And now, with the applications. I checked a couple out at first and was not interested at all, but now! I have like 10 extra applications! It's pretty ridiculous...I check it atleast 5 times a day. Sometimes it's scary...lol...but what can you do?

I set up a Facebook account a few weeks ago and its a great way to keep in touch with friends you don't see every day. A lot of the applications are kinda cool. I love sending gifts and drinks to people, so it's kinda fun in that way.

I only log into there for a few minutes a day. It's a bit frivolous for me; fun, but I don't think I would ever become addicted to it! I have POF for that! lol

I joined during the summer after doing a name search first on my friend's account because I didn't want to dwell on what could have been with someone I knew used My Space. I was sure there was no photo there -- only over 350 same or similar names so I figured there was no way.

Then I got my first decent cell phone with a camera etc. I noticed Facebook was on there and so was he. What I didn't notice is my plan didn't include the $5 unlimited internet option so I've racked up one hell of a bill going back to old habits.

That will teach me that it's best to MOVE ON and be done with it! When it hurts me in the pocketbook it's hitting me very close to my heart.

I like facebook , it's more just normal people I knew or grew up with to have a place to exchange things and keep in touch. It's all just a bunch of goofy fun.

I have been on it for maybe six months or so and I do go there at least a couple of times a day just because it makes it easy to communicate through instead of playing phone tag. Heck I use to talk to my sister every couple of months on the phone now its every couple of days either by posting on her wall or through the facebook email system just because its so easy. Its been worth it just to meet up with people from my past who have come out of the woodwork. The thing now is they are adding so many different applications of all sorts of variety that it almost takes a way the need to visit a different site. I can check my hockey pool, talk about my favorite tv show, listen to music, play a wide variety of games and the list goes on one site so it doesn't take too long to get hooked.

I think facebook is a bit more trustworthy in meeting new people because they usually list their colleges or have a college e-mail and they have friends to confirm their identity. I really think social networks will hinder the dating site business in the near future.

NO THANKS TO Facebook !!!!!!!

Did you guys catch the article about that was on the news Wednesday May 30, 2007??? It aired on 660 News here in Calgary and it was also broadcast on A-Channel TV. This is FOR REAL!!

It's a HUGE eye-opener and you guys might want to DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT ASAP...

When you sign up for a account and click on the "I accept" button where their licensing agreement is----

1. YOU GIVE THEM PERMISSION TO USE ANYTHING THAT IS POSTED ON FOR ANY, AND I MEAN ANY, PURPOSE THEY WANT TO USE IT FOR, AND YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO REFUSE THEM USING ANYTHING YOU POST.

2. You also have to give your email address AND PASSWORD.... YOU'VE JUST GIVEN FULL ACCESS TO YOUR EMAIL ACCOUNT!!!!!! THEY CAN GO INTO YOUR EMAIL ANYTIME YOU WANT AND DELETE STUFF, CHANGE STUFF, FORWARD INFORMATION TO WHOEVER THEY WANT----- HUGE SECURITY BREACH!!!!

Essentially, by signing up for you've allowed " Big Brother" to spy on you, publish your personal information anywhere they want, and make it easier for identity theft to happen..

JUST SAY "NO" TO Facebook!!!!!

I don't have an account, and knowing this, I'm glad that I don't.

Anything you post, anywhere pretty much becomes public domain. They can have my email and password. LOL I have over 1000 unread Yahoo Emails, and over 600 unread hotmail emails. Who uses email anymore? It's too slow. Anyone who knows me either gets ahold of me on facebook, msn or txts to my cel.

Pfff...They would have a good yawn if they got my e-mail password, lol

One thing to be aware of though is not showing your entire birth date. That is a risk for identity theft.

I've been on since about last September and except for the scrabble game on there, I have yet to find it addictive.

My roommate is still addicted to facebook.
My facebook page hasn't changed in ages. I think all I've done in the past half a year is change my profile picture to a baby orangutan.

*hosts picture* Here's the one. :D

I recently got onto facebook, I use it to mainly share photos and vids with people I know, but I have discovered it has allowed me to catch up with old school friends I haven't seen in 20 years,

one thing though, is that some people have too many friends it seems, in the hundreds, just to try to show off how popular they are. I don't use it to meet random strangers, only people I know or have know in the past.

another annoying thing is that some profiles have too many applications and other junk, and hence takes ages to load. There is literally dozens of pages to scroll down on the profile page, and you are sitting there for ages waiting for the page to download. It's a simple matter of hiding some of your history or applications so your page will download faster to your friends.

Anyone else find the same?
