ANGELS & FANTASIES
Posted: 6/8/2007 11:58:38 AM
Fireflies, dragonflies, butterflies and more,
birchbark and pine and spruce line the shore,
All this and more, I see from my canoe,
a tapestry of nature within my view.

Golden sands stretch,
as far as the eye can see,
deserted,
except,
just for me.

walking slowly along the shore,
the seagulls glide on air,
as if,
I wasn't
there.

THIS MOMENT

This moment,
is all that
you have.

In this moment,
just be
yourself.

In this moment,
take time
to breathe.

In this moment,
stand tall,
but gentle.

In this moment,
be present,
and clear.

In this moment,
let yourself
just be.

Souls disgrace each other
in the absence of the spirit,
dishonouring it's presence
with ignorance.

with clutching greedy fingers
all reaching out and pulling in
and smiling mouths not reflected
in their eyes
they walked through life as
'consumers'

leaving behind a barreness wherever they have been

like locusts scarring the plains
swathing a path of bitter destruction

oblivious to life and beauty

wise the ant who makes his way underground
until the hungry hoardes have passed

...and they in turn have perished

WHAT IF
Posted: 6/9/2007 12:25:52 PM
What if's are way too common,
I hear them all the time,
Living with regrets and doubts,
Before you hit your prime.

Just do it, forget the doubts,
don't think yourself to not
Get off the couch and live a little,
Go on and give it a shot.

Went to a party
Posted: 6/9/2007 7:52:24 PM
Went to a party tonight,
50th birthday of a dear friend,
most of our family was there,
with plenty of support to lend.

Sisters, brothers in law
nephews and nieces,
a triple layered cake
of which I had too many pieces.

Here is to family long lost and far
Here is to kinsmen whereever they are
Here is to treasure that all may own
Here is to love and bloodlines of home

Cat's claw black,
feline attack,
on my back,
nails sting,
forth to bring
the blood
of passion

Hey Mandrake.....seems you been lookin' for some words...just thought I might drop em here! lovely song....is true!
Ricky Nelson: Garden Party..........Album: Like Father, Like Sons

I went to a garden party to reminisce with my old friends
A chance to share old memories and play our songs again
When I got to the garden party, they all knew my name
No one recognized me, I didn't look the same

But it's all right now, I learned my lesson well
You see , ya can't please everyone, so ya got to please yourself
People came from miles around, everyone was there
Yoko brought her walrus, there was magic in the air
'n' over in the corner, much to my surprise
Mr. Hughes hid in Dylan's shoes wearing his disguise

lott-in-dah-dah-ha, lot-in-dah-dah-dah
Played them all the old songs, thought that's why they came
No one heard the music, we didn't look the same
I said hello to "Mary Lou" she belongs to me
When I sang a song about a honky-tonk, it was time to leave

lot-dah-dah-dah (lot-dah-dah-dah)
lot-in-dah-dah-dah
Someone opened up a closet door and out stepped Johnny B. Goode
Playing guitar like a-ringin' a bell and lookin' like he should
If you gotta play at garden parties, I wish you a lotta luck
But if memories were all I sang, I rather drive a truck

Lot-dah-dah-dah (lot-dah-dah-dah)
lot-in-dah-dah-dah
'n' it's all right now, learned my lesson well
You see , ya can't please everyone, so you got to please yourself!

SUNDAY MEDLEY
Posted: 6/10/2007 10:35:56 AM
Come in, come in, take off your shoes,
kick it back, and share the blues,
perhaps you'd rather a little jazz,
maybe snap off some razzmatazz.

Let the rhythm move your feet,
just let go and feel the beat,
Lazy Sunday, kickin it back,
gettin down with the jazz attack.

SUNDAY MEDLEY
Posted: 6/10/2007 11:30:55 AM
Sundays at rest,
Are the best
of both worlds,
sit and read,
music to feed
my soul,
appetite hearty,
after the party,
the tidbits brought back,
on which to snack,
during the noon,
not having to cook,
anytime soon,
just my kinda treat!

ecstacy,
passions
of pleasures

lusting
to walk

Long, slow, lazy night,
threatening skies, grey and dim,
No moon or stars yet to be seen,
Chance to clear very slim.

Bring on the storm, let it roar,
with all it's thunder and lightning,
soothing the spirit within me,
these storms I never find frightning.
