| Perspectives Posted: 4/28/2008 11:30:22 AM | The minstrel cometh, thus to capture, if but for a moment your ear, that you may hear soft, the melody of mine heart, for too long have I loved thee without utterance, for thou art beyond words, yet I search but one! One that you will know of me in that sweet moment, that my name shall touch your lips, like a whisper, caressing thy flesh like fingers of gentle wind,
as darkness falls upon us, thy passions call out my name, you have known me,
Alas! the minstrel plays our song.
|
| Perspectives Posted: 4/28/2008 11:34:30 AM | Ahhhhhh! That this be my safe place, that I may seek thy refuge, away from tormented souls and poison tongues.
Finally silence, we meet again, let me bask in thy richness, but for thee would I lose my sanity.
O' great solitude, embrace me once more, heal mine spirit with thy warmth, that a rose shall blush my cheeks, hear me now!
|
| Perspectives Posted: 4/28/2008 12:31:53 PM | *smile* .. I will play with this a bit more to capture the right flow, but here is the first draft. Appreciate the inspiration.
The minstrel came The village gathered The women unwrapped their scarves And danced as unfolding flowers Muted, peasant’s colors transformed Into comely elegant adornments Inventively fluid The surprise of their grace Unchecked approval On each man’s face
And it came to be that music Was heard in the village forever after You see, before the minstrel Women danced for themselves Expressing their passions privately But on the day of the minstrel The village beheld It is in the eye of the beholder Seen through her dance, where A woman speaks of herself completely
|
| Perspectives Posted: 4/28/2008 12:46:33 PM | | Wow! Expat....that was just incredible! Lovin the transformation from the Minstrel, thank you sweet lady | |
|
| Perspectives Posted: 4/28/2008 4:30:03 PM | Thank you, Mandrake.
Now I wished I'd waited so it didn't feel like a double post to put up the finished version. This sort of rhythm isn't commonly easy for me, but the words sort of worked themselves into this alignment. Took longer than usual to make it all fit.
The minstrel came, the village gathered The women unwrapped their scarves They laughed, they danced, they bloomed that day Unfolding as new season’s flowers The lute transformed their muted garb Into comely, elegant adornment Inventively fluid, their grace a surprise The men’s unchecked approval, ancient
And it came to be that music Was heard in the village forever more You see, before the minstrel’s magic Women danced only behind closed doors
But on the day of the minstrel The village peasant’s beheld It is in the eye of the beholder of dance Where a woman speaks truth of herself

| Perspectives Posted: 4/29/2008 6:39:40 AM | In a Dream
Far away from this place, between here and there, my world opens into a field of dreams,
consumed,
yet somehow transformed
to a gentle land of love,
where tears become rare gems, liquid flowers in a garden of Eden.
and in this place, my feelings flow like a waterfall, free and gentle, flowing to eternity

easy to open up harder to hear maybe i've changed my mind wrong is hard to say it tastes like dirty potatoes from the garden

holding me while tears subside just listen to me...please i mean it this time
move home to me i'll be there soon i'd sooner kiss the sky or rope the moon

| Perspectives Posted: 5/1/2008 9:29:17 AM | Something a little different, a bit of humorous poetry
I had no munee, I was so baroque, I thought I would dye, or have a stroke.
I went to the banque, To take out a lone, But all they would do, Was throw me a bone.
My investment in oyl, And natural gas too, Turned sour when I farted, And turned the earth blue!
Heaven won't take me, and neither will hell, Now I'm stuck here on earth In this ungodly smell!!
