am drained
running on empty
nothing more
to give

stop
close my eyes
mind begins to race

wish i could sleep
forever
just for a minute

dissonance
plays her melodies
in my head

looking for comfort
i find
your words
 best kept secret

Oh...dear Manly,
I had know idea you were keeping a fire burning
May I come and sit by it for the learning?
Through these pages are beautiful collections
Of deep thoughts and celebration
Much has touched me and you are the reason
For you gave these works their very own season

Lovely!

Sweet magic adorns beauty’s heart
So much that even one more tiny speck
Of spell-binding beauty dust
Would be excessive
Casting glowing beams of gentleness
Capturing any who glance beauty’s way
But the curse
Who knows when it was conjured
Keeps the One she longs for at bay

Mandrake's Circus Poster

Mandrake's Circus Poster
in the center I saw your pic
How'd you ever manage
to do it quite so slick
Man, it was a great trick

Made me want to run away
from this dull life of mine
If I could join the Circus
and had an act to perform
I'd have a better time

Your Circus Poster is gone
I'm still kinda' in shock
Did the Mods tear down
your only Circus Poster?
Threaten your existence?
Was your head on the
proverbial chopping block?
I hope not.

(I asked my friend to give me a topic to write about. She said, "paint. painting." So, this is what I doodled...)

Paint

I touch it hesitantly, at first.
with sable brush and a sigh,
turn my head sideways at the canvas,
the canvas that is you.

The color is a pale blue sky
wrapped around the edge of tomorrow
with promise, like horizons at sun-up
beckoning a new day to spread his

image across the easel of morning,
posing with a beginner's mind because
I will never see this moment again,
not in this light the

light of potential willing to
lay itself on the smooth cotton paper
arms reaching back for the paint-tipped brush
asking for expression

of paint. Imagination serving the
vision by imprinting color
across linear thinking
in swirls like a weather front

gathering winds in the butterfly's
dress, to splash a rainbow in
cobalt and crimson on the page
that is titled "hello."

sea smoke pillars,
invading the shore,
Neptunes soldiers
by the score

riding in with battle dress,
taking back the seas,
steel spray the shield,
never to appease.

Other side of the Magician's Wand
appears to be to be hitting a gong
probably jealous of "Good intentions" trick
Putting own face within a piece of history
Guess some just didn't view carefully
their always looking for something to reject
It's a pure shame that persons don't stop and think?!
What will my actions do on this day?!!!!!!!!!
It is a wonderful piece of art
Glad I was able to see that part of a wonderful "Mandrake"!!

Unjust!!!!.........

Color me happy
Harken me back to the perfection
Of that long-lost era
Of laughter and love songs
Truth is in the looking glass

Drink in the luscious beauty
Creamy, dawn-colored blooms
Singing wordless songs of
Genteel wildness
A wonderfully oversized statement
Where each light-tipped petal
Emerges like a miracle
From a field of young grasses
Bursting with new life

Ticketing the stars
speeding through the galaxy,
lightyears over the limit,
the interplanetary highway
littered with stardust.

In the court of Neptune,
a warrant was issued
for failure to appear,
as another light shines,

hiding in the flickering
night, blending in a
crowded sky.

(Slipping in an edited version .. real quiet-like ..
much like the elves did for the old shoe cobbler ..
then slipping out again.)

Ticketed among the stars,
Speeding through the galaxy,
Lightyears over the limit,
The interplanetary highway,
Littered with stardust.

In the court of Neptune,
A warrant was issued
For failure to appear,
(Another light had beckoned..)

Hiding on the shining
Flickering highway,
Blending into a crowded
Temptation filled skyway.

Earth's biding time
heating significantly over
decreasing the chill
overflowing the ocean's
with no where to go
but into our neighborhoods
pushing us to a higher ground!!

Thankyou Hammy....always a pleasure to greet your words.

Slipping

beyond the

seventh soujourn,

weaving fabrics
left behind,
molding

from the ashes,

that which makes sense,
parallel patterns

of intricate shapes,
resembling the world

left behind.

I painted blueskies
over dark matter,

and watched it bleed through,

like a silken transparency,
invisible to it's own illusion,

yet, somehow, recreating
itself, installing a new reality

on the canvas
of life.

Nubian deity,
particular to the abstract
exquisite light,
like an aphrodisiac,
arousing the senses
to a primordial
orgasm.

What madness in a full moon,
what sanity remains?

What mathematical fornication
dwells in the lepers den?

What remains are spared
from the empty crypt.?

What is left for humanity
to consider?

What is there for mankind
but to ponder his own existence?

His demise is

unavoidable.

Wow, Mandrake.
Your recent writes are intense.
Nubian deity .. major mind-candy.
And this last one .. sounds like it
could be posted to the Science Forums.
Always get a bit lost in your words..
but these I read again and again.

Pounding the earth
Hard and fast
Madness spared
Under a dark moon
No veil tonight
No poetry in motion
Bare feet ponder
Heart’s existence
