| Mandrake's House by the Fire Posted: 6/20/2008 5:55:43 AM | the musty smell still lingers a ghost still remains in her thousands and thousands of pages what words were contained
such life she held together between the pages of her books when i heard the news of the closing i simply shook
for a friend she was to me a friend she'll always be the secrets that she kept were for all eternity
forever she remains her secrets i will keep when i fondly think of her i will silently weep
(i am sooo sorry) | |

| Mandrake's House by the Fire Posted: 6/20/2008 9:27:45 PM | I still remember your scent, pressed against my lips, as I kissed you goodbye, felt the tears of sadness sting my eyes, knowing this was the last time I would touch you, hold you, kiss you...
that as much as I loved you, it was not to be, our journey together reached it's final destination, I knew there would never be another that could ever touch me the way you did, open me the way you did....
Numbed by the pain of life without you, seemed endless, too much to bare but time passed on, and I grew a new life, a world without you in it, where my spirit rose to the mountains, singing songs of renewal.

| Mandrake's House by the Fire Posted: 6/21/2008 9:17:35 PM | Final Evening
The night sky was ours, Full with the warmth of love, I felt your hand in mine, yet a hundred miles away.
I searched your eyes, and fell on an empty field of longing, wondering where you were....
The silence spoke, and my heart heard you through the silence, "are we alright?" and you spoke!
NO!
The next day came, standing at the airport, looking back one last time, my tears whispering,
I will never stop
loving you! | |

| Mandrake's House by the Fire Posted: 6/22/2008 8:38:14 PM | Thanx Sophie, but no that one was just spewed forth in about 5 mins of just closing my eyes, calming my mind, and typing whatever images, thoughts, and phrases flowed thru. glad you liked, think I might try the whole stream of consciousness thing more often. its a "technique" I was turned onto in by the editor of Mind Flight, kinda off a springboard thing.

| Mandrake's House by the Fire Posted: 6/24/2008 7:08:45 AM | ah sunny life began at 50 for me... hell you're a baby i'm up to 53
i hear that we become who we're meant to be hear it happens for us all in our fifties..
oh, don't get me wrong when i reached that dreaded day i cried and cried and cried then i heard it said
take some time to live and take some time to play do this every minute of every single day
and when life sucks like sometimes it surely does breathe in deeply and breathe out love
what we do today creates memories for tomorrow so when i have the choice let it not be sorrow
with these words hope i offered a bit of releif as i ponder the ol' question what's up chief?!
(i'm haunted my the soul of dr. suess this morning!!)
