| What to wear on a First Date? Posted: 9/21/2008 6:59:53 AM | | I am also in a quandry. I am meeting a man at a sports bar for our first date and I don't know whether to wear a football jersey (Favre Packers hey watch it!) or a nice blouse? I have the jeans and shoes picked out but don't want to go too dressy just want to make a good first impression. Any suggestions??? | |

| What to wear on a First Date? Posted: 9/21/2008 11:57:14 AM | I recently read that men like a girl to wear jeans and a nice shirt when they meet for a drink or a coffee. They don't like women to show off the 'girls' too much because guys actually think that women are to easy then, and they are trying to bait him with breasts. Of course if it is dinner and a little fancier, guys like a girl to wear a dress, but still not really low cut until at least the 3rd or 4th date.
I agree that we all like to look good for the attention, I do it, but guys want to look at us, check us out, but not worry about whether or not they are staring/looking at the 'girls'. Guys want to look into our eyes and if they like the classyness of your choice of clothes and your personality of course, women will get more than one date.
I tend to wear low cut shirts/tank tops and mini skirts most of the time, so when it is time to meet a guy, thats what I end up wearing because it is comfortable for me. I have no problem with a guy checking me out or staring at my 'girls'. I love the attention. Explains a lot though why I rarely get a second meeting or 'first' real date.
I will definitely change my way of doing things in that department, I had no idea really that the kind of clothes a woman wears when she first meets a guy was so important to the guy. I do own jeans, just hardly ever wear them.

| What to wear on a First Date? Posted: 9/21/2008 1:34:47 PM | First impressions are lasting impressions...But also - Don't judge a book by its cover...
The first time I am meeting a guy is a "first meet" not a first date....And i'ts somewhere public like Timmies for a coffee...And I wear something simple but still want to look nice -freshly showered and fragrance - minty fresh breath - clean jeans, t-shirt and boots with matching hand bag etc...But sometimes I've had more luck showing up just how I was - my comfy dawgs - older jeans and T - nothing fancy - nothing planned. Does dressing up too much scare off guys - looks as if we're trying to hard - or do guys feel intimidated - or feel the Girl is too "high maintenance" and out of his league??? Tell us we want to know!!!!

| What to wear on a First Date? Posted: 9/21/2008 6:59:55 PM | I decided to wear my Packers football jersey and some nice jeans. He was wearing a football jersey too and I was very comfortable. It fit the occasion. Plus he knew i was a packer fan and would recognize me. So I would recommend if you are going to dinner a nice dress or slacks, the lake some shorts and a nice t-shirt, sandals or tennis shoes. Just my 2 cents for whatever its worth. | |

I guess this means it is time to update your picture. I bet you get a lot of people who meet you who probably think you look nothing like your picture.
Be honest with yourself and everyone else. Use a picture that is within one year old. Because if you lie about what you look like, what else do you lie about? This is a question for everyone, just so you know. I am not trying to pick on any one person.

I totally agree!

| What to wear on a First Date? Posted: 9/22/2008 12:08:21 PM | Soooo....my bondage gear would be totally out of place on a first date? ;)
I wear what I am comfortable with - sometimes it's sexy, sometimes it's my favourite top, sometimes it's a skirt...I dress for my mood and to make ME feel good about ME. Not that the date is all about me....but again - it's all about comfort.

I agree, we can really effect how we feel just by the clothes we wear!

| What to wear on a First Date? Posted: 9/23/2008 6:48:39 PM | I definitely agree with the posts that state you wear what you feel good & comfortable in...I think if you are wearing what you like, and are confident & comfortable with who you are & what you are about.....that will come across...although....sometimes one wonders, while as the above post mentioned that men like a woman in a nice pair of jeans & a shirt...without showing too much cleavage...it kind of contradicts what some men really want though.....but, guess it is very subjective....why cant you just be yourself...and wear what you want...I do...and some like it , some dont....I do not really worry what anyone else thinks...except that person that I am meeting...and even then...it all depends. I believe we are all visual creatures...not just men, and if we like what we see...it goes a long way. First impressions & all...can be classy & show off your assets...and no, I will not wear my bathing suit top to a meet...lmao...and all the clothes I have worn on my profile, all fit...and the pics are fairly recent ... | |
