| Do you believe in ghosts/Haunted houses? Posted: 9/25/2007 5:04:16 PM | | you can think that right now. but just wait till something like that really does happen to you then you will become a beleaver. ..... i had alot of friends and family members that didn't beleave in that kind of stuff untill it happened to them.... most common hauntings is where the wars was located. where people was killed in homes or buildings, and some burial sites. but like i had said before...... If a ghost or spirt wants to be know they will find a way to be known. if they don't want to be they won't do anything to show there presence....so you have to come to terms with that also. people should always have an open mind on stuff like this. becase there is people out there like me that can see them and or hear them even when they don't want too. or even sence them around when the ghost or spirit doesn't want to be seen or herd. | |

The Ghosts you speak of are demons. They cannot exist in anyone or anything, If your faith is in God. The dead are gone.....evil is present where or who allows it to remain!

| Do you believe in ghosts/Haunted houses? Posted: 9/26/2007 4:45:03 PM | | Isn't it nice to consider it likely that our consciousness survives death? Doesn't the possibility we might be rewarded for our hard life on earth bring a thrill to you. If you look into the lives of those ghosts who remain among us you may find a lot of them have led a life that makes them unacceptable in a heavenly society. If they engaged in killing in some way, or stealing in some way, they're stuck. We should see their predicament as a lesson for ourselves. Let's try to live in peace with one another and not get too attached to anything here on earth. We will soon leave it all behind to return home where we belong. | |

THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE ON THIS TOPIC SEEMS TO POINT TOWARD THAT THE SPIRITS STAY BEHIND BECAUSE OF UNFINISHED BUSINESS, OR DO NOT KNOW THEY ARE DEAD. SYLVIA BROWNE HAS SOME GOOD BOOKS ON THIS TOPIC .

| Do you believe in ghosts/Haunted houses? Posted: 9/30/2007 8:35:22 AM | I used to live / own a haunted house. When I moved in, there was a lot of clean up, as the house was left with clothes in the closet and dishes in the kitchen - sold as is. While doing the clean up I experienced several things. Window blinds I couldn't roll up just to find it rolled up when I returned to the room. A closet door that would be open after I shut it, several times. Little things were moved. I lived there 5 years, then rented it out 5 years. I had about 8 renters. Every renter heard "the music", which sounded like a talk show where you could only hear one voice and it would dissapear if you left the master bedroom. One felt a hand on her shoulder and saw a figure move from one room to another. One had re-occurances of dead birds being found in the second bedroom. I saw two very clear men, one floating above normal height level, one in bed with me. Both had a sense of military about them. History on the house.... It was the sight of a military camp and is on the county map as "Langstons camp". I enjoyed all the activity. | |

Someone once asked this man about ghosts........................ In his long life experience and wisdom.......
He chuckled....and said"Its not the dead fellas you gotta worry about......... Its those live buggers"

Then He walked away, wiping the dust off his feet!:roll:

| Do you believe in ghosts/Haunted houses? Posted: 10/1/2007 10:46:33 PM | | Every time I have been to a psychic, a "haunted house", or some kind of spiritual healer with perported funky ass powers, I have NEVER had any kind of paranormal experience. All I hear are people who claim that there are freaky powers of there that we don't understand. Yet, each time I expose myself to the freaky powers, I keep an open mind, and don't just believe that someone is psychic just because they say there are. I experience nothing. It seems more likely that people are just using their imagination when they think a house is haunted. Because something is "unexplained" people ASSUME to explain it with their imagination. lol. I won't buy it. | |

There are only 2 destinations after we die, that is heaven and hell. as far a ghosts go? It is the inhabitants of hell... 's victims of earth. If you don't get a good feeling its not an which do exist! and can be seen by certain individuals.offering a unexplainable peace and deliverance.....without question!
according to the posts on this thread..One can only come up with one conclusion......You all between the and the Dark blue sea!
I suggest maybe moving to round houses.......so the can't catch ya in the corners!
seriously now...lol There is such thing as demon possession....; When the apostles asked Jesus who can be possessed Lord? He responded...'You are either with me or against me .......You cannot be inbetween'
any questions? | |

Yeah. I have a question.
Why is it so hard for you to preface things like the above with the words "In my opinion..." or "As far as I believe..." instead of stating them as absolute truths? You really have no way of knowing them to be more true than a person believing in ghosts to be departed spirits or psychological manifestations or methane-leak induced hallucinations...
So why not just state things as your opinion, which they are, rather than as a fact which they most certainly cannot be proven to be?
Just wondering. | |

| Do you believe in ghosts/Haunted houses? Posted: 10/7/2007 1:30:02 AM | Wow. There seems to be an inordinate number of Truth-shouters in here. Must have been run out of all their other spam-threads.
Anyway, let's get back to the discussion.
As a realist, I do not believe anything that I have not experienced (note the term "believe" in there. It's there for a reason) Having had an experience that, despite my best efforts, seemed most plausible as a paranormal encounter, I have made my peace with it, rationalized my encounter, and integrated it into my view on the intangible. Belief in ghosts and being of sound mind are not mutually exclusive... so long as one remembers one single piece of wisdom:
"Whatever you believe is fact: but only to you".
that's an original Hareism. I call dibs on it!

| Do you believe in ghosts/Haunted houses? Posted: 10/7/2007 6:18:30 PM | I am an active paranormal investigator, my goal is simple, prove what people experience are normal things with normal everyday causes and not ghosts, demons or other things that go bump in the night.
I am here to tell you, there are experiences that I have not been able to explain. Plain and simple. Is it a haunting or paranormal? Hard to say. But I have to admit when your in a place and it feels totally normal and you play back tape or footage and get an answer to what you were talking about or see something weird you take notice.

| Do you believe in ghosts/Haunted houses? Posted: 10/8/2007 7:22:05 PM | I lived in a house that was haunted. Nice little 3 bedroom bungalow. 6 families in and out in 7 years when my parents bought it. For a new place, it seemed a bit odd. But, what the heck.....at first it startled us a bit....family members wouldn't tell each other until one night dad brought it up. Seems we'd all seen this entity, and not said a word to each other about it. The reason dad brought it up finally was because more than one person at a time saw it. So...nobody had to go around thinking they were going nuts, or seeing thigns. Afterwards, it got to the point where it seemed "normal" to have this entity in the house....almost as if you could never be left in the ohuse alone beacuse some friendly was there. He never did any harm. Was quiet, but could give you a heck of a start wher you turned a corner and he was there. Could hear him coming up formt he basement, or walking down the hall...even after the hall was carpeted.
Sure...some people don't believe in such things.....until it bite them in the azz....and some even then refuse to believe even if they DID see it with their own eyes. {shrug}...doesn't matter. I know what I've seen/experienced, and telling me it isn't true can't make that go away.

| Do you believe in ghosts/Haunted houses? Posted: 10/11/2007 11:19:45 PM | | Yes I do. A man passed away in my grandmas house and I saw him walk past the dining room a few days after he passed. I was soooo scared that I ran outside, sat on the porch, and waited for my grandma to come home. I see shadows all the time in her house. Scary. | |

I have seen and heard things that *may* have been such entities. Of course, it could also have been the effects of going home late at night after work and being completely exhausted.
While growing up in CR, I lived in this semi-rural neighborhood which had a cemetery not long from the house. There was this long hallway inside the house that, at night, was very dark. There were two bathrooms in the house. One of them was at the end of this hall. I remember i just could not bring myself to walk through it. There was a strange energy just at the beginning of it, as thought someone was watching you. It is hard to explain. Of course, I would go through hell if I had to go to that bathroom at night.
Supposedly, there were a lot of Indians killed just beneath that house, which helps to explain not only the negative vibe I felt, but also numerous noises late at night, and even a ghost sighting one time. Creepy stuff....

I was on the phone this one time with my brother. He just called me out of the blue, and I told him about something strange that happened to me. I told him that I had heard Mr. Joseph's voice (Joseph was an old friend of ours, a neighbor in our native CR, he was about 63) earlier on that day. He shocked me when he informed me that Mr. Joseph had died the previous night in CR.
Strange stuff. I also have a lot of funny dreams, and then something happens....

Yeah. I used to believe as you do until I read 1 Samuel 28. If ghosts do not exist, then why does the cited text state that Saul used a medium to consult with the spirit of Samuel (NOT a demon or angel pretending to be the spirit of Samuel)?

i think EVP recordings would be harder to explain away if you eliminate most of the external variables that would confound the experiment. [/unquote]
I think that people who have closed their mind to the phenomena are really missing out on so many more levels of consciousness. I've been on investigations where some REALLY unexplainable things have been happening. What I do is identification, communicating with the energies and helping the people to not be afraid o f the things they can't rationally explain.
When you think about it ghosts...spirits are a very natural occurance.. part of our total experiences as human beings.. animals too.. have come across spirits of pets/animals more commonly then people :)
Sometimes you can't get through to people and then you just have to hope that sometime they will get the *** scared out of them so they have to deal with the subject :):)

It actually doesn't have anything to do with the demons of religion... there is no religion on the other side.
Everyone gets along there really well!! No matter what they believed in on earth. :):)

| Do you believe in ghosts/Haunted houses? Posted: 11/27/2007 8:17:19 PM | Acutally, here's the psuedo scientific skinny on ghosts:
Our "souls", the enrgy that drives our bodies, is set loose at death. Hauntings occur when magnetic materials are present. This can be anything from certain rock types to various metals. In modern times, lotsa of houses get haunted because the wiring in the house makes huge magnetic cage, which can trap our spirit energy. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen.
This is why haunting generally occur around existing structures; houses, castles, bridges, all contain at least some kind of rock or metals, even those structures made of wood.
It was this theory that led Dan Akroyd ( who by the way is a long standing member of the American Parapsychology foundation) to use the concept of "ghost traps" and a "containment grid" in the ghostbusters movies. Heck, even the proton packs worked under the theory that energy fields can drain other energy fields.
