The suggestion is akin to asking us whether we have a "break glass in case of emergency sex-buddy" or if we have a backup-plan (or plan B, contingency plan, etc) in case the girl being dated "falls through"!
Put simply, no. I date one woman exclusively at a time and don't keep women on a "backburner". Admittedly it does make it tough if i have several women showing interest in me at once, but put simply i don't make options out of people.
To think that all men can just disassociate sex and love is erroneous and paints us all as **stards.

Wow...More than one affectionate 'you're special to me' in a 6 week period is considered to mean 'you need constant reassurance'? Holy cow...I guess I need 'constant' reassurance then. There’s a school of thought that many single guys actually use a romantic rotation of the girls they date. How many of you have a starting lineup of girls you date thinking or knowing you’ll have mind-blowing sex with and then a second string of girls who like you just a little more than you like them that you keep in a holding pattern waiting on the sidelines.
Girls….
Men don’t feel any guilt about the rotation method and rightfully so because, after all, they’re not married or not in a committed relationship. I wonder how many girls ask the guys they’re currently sexually involved with if they are also currently involved sexually with other women.
I don’t think it’s prying or rude to ask the guys you’re sleeping with about the competition you’re up against to find out the odds of contacting STDs or getting actual commitments from them – IF - that’s what you want.
If asked I wonder how many guys are honest with their answers.

As for competition, I don't do competition. I refuse to get into the proverbial tree pissing match over a man ~ ever. If a man wants to be with me and I with him, no other person will have the ability to thwart that and if they do, it wasn't real in the first place and I would thank them for saving me a lot of grief. | |

I've seen your atttitude before, but only among puberescent girls on their first relationships. These young ones ALL want to date the one boy, the school hero. And the only reason they want to date him is because the other girls all want to date him.
These few guys do juggle girls. The rest of the guys simply havent got enough girlfriends to do any juggling practice. | |

That sounds rather like a football squad's rotation system, far to confusing, tiring for and convoluted for me me.
Seriously how would one plan this "rotation system"?
Mandy on Monday, Tracy on Tuesday, Wendy on Wednesday...because she is dirty and gives me that lift to get through the rest of the week...and then Trinity on Thursday and Fearne on a Friday with Sally and Sue on Saturday and Sunday!
That would be me done for the week. until the Merry go round starts again 
Seriously I would never date more than one person at the same time....it's just....greedy and a tad on the dishonest side, not to mention the whole risk of multiple pregnancy and nasty gremlins.
I prefer to keep it simple, and hope to have one girl...one day

Posted: 5/24/2008 8:12:03 AM | I'm not sure how many guys in my age group have a romantic rotation with their girls, but I suspect it would be more of an online thing than 'real world'.
If I got taken off the pitcher's mound and put into the bullpen for another star player, I would try harder to perfect my pitch and work my way back to starting position.
If I was delegated to the minors for other players, I would probably be heading to the golf course!
I do ask if they are being intimate with others and for the most part, they have been honest with me. (I think)!
^^^ Okay, that was me in a previous persona!! I will not be part of anybody's rotation. I won't be a pinch hitter for when the star is injured. Who wants to be sitting on the bench while Sally or Kathy or Liz is having fun?
Besides, I would hope I would be the star player cos of me being a utility player..can play every position with skill...and I do not mean that in a sexual way either....! LOL

If the gal wasn't right I dropped her and moved on. Some were willing to get togther again for just sex but I find that to emotionaly confusing.

But I'm telling you what this male, me, does. I have a few girls that if they called me right now all bets are off and I would date them in a heart beat. No questions asked. And I also have a few that I "fantasize" about. But that is being human, I'm sure women do the same thing.

It would be too utterly depressing to believe that most, or even a large number, of men behave this way. But it doesn't sell books to say "most guys are basically decent and are as bewildered about the whole mating process as you are."
