At 16, it was statement of humility and trepidation toward a path that seemed inevitable.
I used it on BBS's in the late 80's. I stopped using it when someone addressed me by that name at real world gathering.
About a decade later, the Internet started getting crowded and I discovered that "subhacker" had very useful qualities: It is short, easily remembered, and globally unique.
I've thought to change it. "Subhacker" doesn't seem to have the right feel for a dating site. | |

I'm cooky because it was a love name, and when my brother married a girl with my real name and we all started having babies, to avoid the confusion of two aunts with the same name, i took aunt cooky. Now almost everybody calls me cooky. | |

I was sick of what I had used for a SN before so I asked some of my online buddies to help me out. Sooooo... a (former) friend that lives in Germany gave it to me. I had told her once if a tale I had made up as a kid about the moon and how much I loved the glow of it...(yeah yeah yeah. romantic at heart here ok?). She said LUNARTEMPTATION fit because I was always tempted by the moon.
I said works for me. Have had it since..shoot, I think just before the war started, so maybe the end of 2001? | |

It actually goes back to my first computer in 97 ( which was a Web TV btw)... As im going through the setup process completly confused, I come across the part that ask for a user name... "What the hell is a user name" i asked myself....
I turn to my brother and say "This thing is hard to get goin"...
Thats where it all started.... Hrdtoget1 came when I changed from AOL to Yahoo...

I know it kind of sounds like a negative quality or something but it's not really broken. | |
