Posted: 9/8/2009 11:13:15 PM | Real men have jobs, integrity self respect, take care of their women, help around the house, appreciate their women, make sure their womn gets off first and if by some chance she doesn't will work their magic until she gets hers too, love and take care of their kids, kiss you when you're doing the housework because they appreciate it, open doors, fill up the tank at the gas station, pay the check when you go out to eat without a second thought, eat the home cooked meal you prepare for them and say thank you for it with a kiss, pick up milk and bread on the way home when you call and ak them for it, and rub your feet when you've been walking in heels all day. They aren't afraid to watch a chick flick with you because they are secure in their masculinity, they like sports, but understand when you prefer to read a book during the game rather than hear a play by play. They appreciate when you iron their clothes and shop for them, and will hold you when you cry. They don't mind picking up a box of tampons or shampoo at the store, and know you well enough to buy you the right gifts for your birthday and Christmas because they pay attention to what you like and don't like. They can be trusted to have conversations with your friends without hitting on them, and understand that you have girl and guy friends and know that you are faithful and are not jealous in the least. Real men don't cheat. Real men take care of their mothers and sisters, as well as their girlfriends, out of love. Real men don't have to hunt, but if they do, they eat what they kill and make sure they dress it when they bring it home so you can fix it and cook it. Real men have their priorities in order and aren't afraid to love wholeheartedly.
Real men have a great belief in God and even if not religious, have a healthy respect for other people's feelings about religion. They are not intimidated by homosexuality, or alternative lifestyles, because they know who they are.
I am very lucy, I have a real man in my life, I have a real man in it. I pray all of you too.

Posted: 9/9/2009 12:22:38 AM | A real woman...She takes care of herself, she knows who she is and loves herself because she recognizes that she has value as a person. She treats her family, friends, children, and coworkers with respect and dignity, and is efficient and presents herself with class and maturity. She gets what she wants and needs by working hard and making goals that she strives to meet every day. She is a valuable member of her community, be it in her church, synogogue or community organizations. When in a relationship, she treats her man with respect and kindness, and accepts his love with appreciation. She returns his gentility by understanding what it is to be a strong woman in the relationship. This means that cooking wonderful meals and keeping the home well does not make her any less of a person, it merely shows that she can hold a job equal to a man's and still fulfill traditional roles within the home. If cooking is not her strong suit, she is resourceful and finds ways to cater to other roles within the home to take care of her family. A real woman lets the man be a man, and revels in being the woman in the relationship, and understands that there is no shame in that. She finds joy in making sure that the children are given love an attention from her, and are taught a great role model from her, that women are strong and loving and capable of taking care of more than just the laundry and washing the dishes. She teaches the children to be self-reliant, and knows that her influence is extremely important in raising healthy children both physically and emotionally. She, in conjunction with her husband discipline the children and teach them right from wrong, morals and values so they can become wonderful contributing members of society.
Most of all, women lead by example in the home. They traditionally are the primary caregivers, so their role is much more complex and many times more difficult and stressful, as they are expected to work outside of the home for a paycheck as well as nurture the children. Men are expected to work as well, but do more of the physical labor and maintenance around the home, which is very important, but mothers traditionally work with the children and provide dinner and work with homework and emotional issues.
Both parents contribute, they just do so in different ways. It takes both parents working together to make a home run smoothly, and with them working in tandem, harmony can be achieved.
On a side note, I do not say that all homes follow these standards by any means, but I cite these as traditional roles that are fairly well accepted, and work for the most part. | |

(raising hand, owning Wrangler) Uhhh, you're laughing with me, not at me, right? Lol Actually, I seem to see (or notice) almost as many 20-something girls driving them as anyone. Oh, and it's jeep etiquette to wave at every other jeep (not sure whether it's directed at the driver or the vehicle, lol).
Did the family Volvo, had some bmw's (vintage and new) that were incredibly fast (never went through the little red sports car phase, lol), but I gotta say that a Wrangler is more fun by alot than any of them. It goes, well, everywhere, or at least everywhere I want to go, strips down to, like, nothing, and looks good in the woods. Yeah, we're alot alike.  | |

What is a REAL MAN? He is the epitomy of all our dreams and fears. He likes to help cook a meal together, he is neat, has integrity, he has a work ethic, he can communicate, he shares some of the same interests and he always remembers that the way to keep a woman in love with you is to touch her and kiss her at least once a day in a way that lets her know that she is still the one that totally does it for you. That is the man of our dreams part.
The man of our fears is one that doesn't put up with our bullsh*t, doesn't let us peck you into submission and strip you of the rough exterior that so attracted us in the beginning. We really don't want equality in all things and we don't want you to whimper and beg for sex. The man of our fears knows that every now and then you have to go caveman and grab us by the hair and drag us into the bedroom and just tell us how it's going to be. | |

btw, I've never met an avowed lesbian. Thought I had, once, a woman colleague, well into her forties, unmarried, whom I had once bumped into on the street holding the hand of a tall, dark, black-chokered woman (spikes in the choker), but shortly thereafter, she married some boy lawyer.

These values are the very definition of Machismo in the stricteset sense of the word as it was originaly intended; NOT the definition of machismo that has become a synonym for male swagger and empty posturing.
The true meaning of Machismo is a model any man should be proud to aspire to and any woman should feel proud and fortunate to have one such in her life.
It's a shame we've allowed "machismo" to take on such negative connotations as it seems to be the very thing people are responding to in a postive way. | |

Real men fear God first, they love their mothers and are fathers to their children. If a man can phantom the concept that women. Should be treated like they want their mothers to be treated. I believe all else would fall into place.He would also be a great lover because he listens and pays attention in and out bed.Not to score cool points but because he appreciates the womans body and mind.He would have integrity and choose to tell the truth about anything. Even when it was something she might not want to hear.
He would love, protect, respect,appreciate,and nuture his woman.
