| Could you still argue with someone on the forums if?
Posted: 5/8/2007 8:55:40 AM | If I fancied someone, whether it be on the forums or elsewhere, I would discuss things in the same manner as I would prefer to discuss things with others.
If they listen to what I have to say, then prove their point, I would feel immense pride in them. 
If they are stronger at discussion/debate/argument than me and prefer not to listen to my side, or to discuss it further, I will go off and have a little cry.............. , then look for comfort from them anyway.
If they are just bullies, they can go to hell  and they are not worth me wasting my energy on. | |

Posted: 5/8/2007 8:55:41 AM | it never ceases to amaze me on these forums how some people talk so much sense all the time and some don't. sometimes the voice of experience is a wonderful thing and it is nice to see how seasoned forumers are able to detatch the forum from real life.
i think love is a wonderful thing but it is nice to see that it does not make people doormats and that people feel able to have their own opinions inside a relationship. | |

There is BIG difference in finding someone attractive than having sex with them! lol! I think if I had sex with someone off here and it didnt work out I would probably just avoid them, or come back with a different name! I TOTALLY disagree with the saying about a scorned women! What a load of rubbish! I wouldnt give a toss, and I certaintly wouldnt be in into making someones life hell because they didnt fancy me or things went wrong between us! And the only time there was disagreement about something 'fundamental', it was my husband and we split up! But in any case, if I was in a positive and fulfilling relationship, I would hope I would have better things to do than hang around fora. | |

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and besides that person's veiw on some things could be one of the things that could attract you to them.
Most of the times the banter is flirty anyway, if it was something that really got my goat up I would politely write my opinion but avoiding getting into an argument with someone. | |

It'd be a boring world if everyone agreed on everything. Can't see why anyone would let their feelings for someone stand in their way of their principles or integrity really. IF you fancied someone on the forums, or perish the thought you had seen them naked, or slept with them, could you still argue with them with the same venom if you thought that their opinions were daft??
I would have no problem whatsoever with discussing the content of their posts, as my buddies have all realised, but your use of the word 'venom' suggests that flaming in involved.
I've received enough guidance to know that flaming is not the way, and that it ruins a good debate.
does it effect your judgement?
Not in the slightest, although I do roll my eyes at some of the comments made by my buddies. | |

Posted: 5/9/2007 3:55:57 AM | I tend to agree with the one that I really fancy on here but sometimes he does make me shake my head in wonder at the dribble he types.
However, if I was lucky enough to get him naked..... I wouldn't be on the forums much, i'd be doing other things!
But seriously, why not argue with someone you get to see naked! After all, making up is more fun, isn't it??
