I agree with you in saying that "by adding to these forums your bio lets others see it (you) exists". Please feel free to write in with ideas and info on things going on in Charlotte County and any surrounding areas, that you know of or interested in attending!! Since you may not know, here's some history of this Forum.
SOME HISTORY OF THIS FORUM
This Forum was named as it was (Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda and surrounding areas)because the "Old Gang" we speak about (of which over 20/30 members are still on POF) ,were , a very active group that extended from Ft. Myers-and surrounding areas to the south, up to North Port -and surrounding areas to the North. Punta Gorda being the center. We had monthly parties from Fall 2006-early summer 2007. One of the regular attendees voiced an opinion of wanting to have an outside/daytime party and Venice Beach was where we all agreed to have the event. This was how the Venice Beach Parties were started.
Members from the Ft. Myers(Lee County area) did attend ,yet, it is a long haul and alot of gas milage. This forum will continue to service Lee, Charlotte, and Sarasota County with fairness to members from All THREE Areas. Please respect it's intent.
Kimi, if you (or anyone) would like to help plan the party at the Slip Knot-in Punta Gorda- some time in July or August, Please jump in on the planning.... Or if you are interested in hosting a party in your area (I believe I read you are from Venice) you are welcome to post info about it, and increase exposure on this Forum at any time.

Posted: 6/24/2008 10:05:47 AM |  I play music every thursday evening at Gilcrist park,we have an open forum and any can join in or just come listen to local musicians.since moving here in early March,only missed one Thursday.It is a great cultural event,if you sing or play or just enjoy live music come and enjoy.Bring chairs,coolers and yourselves. On your profile(bio) page, under "About Me", you can start the entry with info about what you are hosting-be it a party, or a forum!! Many of the members who host parties will write something like: DON'T MISS THE FOURTH OF JULY PARTY AT ....(location)... ON ...(date). COME BY AND SAY HELLO, I'LL BE HOSTING THE EVENT. Accent it with your favorite smilies. The same method would work for pforums as well.
Current info will be at the end of the forums since postings run from when a forum is created thru the present. Yet....as the "Host" or "Author" you can edit the very first posting you used to set up the forum originally. I'm not sure if that can be done indefinitely or if that feature has a time limit on it. Some times you just have to accept the system as it is. And, you can always write to a Moderator or Big Fish and ask for help.
If you are offering to help set up a party down here at the Slip Knot, my next question to you is: What Saturday in July or August would you consider best(excluding Aug 2nd)? Lots of members will say, "it's a good idea, yet, few will step up! So, Thanks,

Posted: 7/18/2008 11:51:08 AM | I believe I mentioned before.Gilcrist park In Punta Gorda, on Thursday evenings has a bunch of local artist's who play a variety of music including myself.Also I am out at the El Jobean Depot on Tuesday evenings,would enjoy meeting alot of you POF people.Great food relaxed atmosphere and good people,I wont guarentee you will like the entertainment though lol j/k. | |

It's kind of wierd to walk up on people you don't know, a bit awkward,I looked out on the patio,was'nt sure. And sometimes we look a little different from our pics.Actually, I'm much more handsome in real life.......,Ok ok,I think out on that patio is an exellent spot.For a while I thought I was chasing a ghost,or someone was messing with me. And no Bylle,if that's correct,I really don't have a bad attitude. | |
