CHUBBYZ 25cent WINGS NIGHT!!
Posted: 6/14/2007 12:42:01 PM
Welcome back Kimmie & Jerry !!! Here's the last posting for the kayak demo---y'all are on your own this time---I gotta work !!! Hope to make to the pier later on tho !!!

Sunni

It's time for our class and demo day to take place, and it's this Saturday! The class will start at 8:30 am at Ackerman Park. To get to Ackerman Park you will take Fruitville Rd east of I-75 to Coburn Rd. You will then turn right on Coburn Rd, and go 6/10's of a mile and the lake is on the right. The class covers numerous techniques, from getting in and out, to paddle strokes that will make your kayaking even more enjoyable. The class runs about two hours, and the cost is $40 with your kayak or ours. You will need to call 941-922-9671 for info and reservations.
Following the class is the ever popular 30 kayak, "Fathers Day FREE Demo Day". What a great way to get Dad into a kayak at "no charge". No two kayaks are the same, so there will be a great variety to try out. We will also have the ever popular fleet of Hobie pedal kayaks. If you have never tried the Hobie pedal kayak, you will be truly amazed by it's efficiency. The demo starts at 11 am and goes to 2pm. Bring Dad out so he can pick out his next leisure or fishing kayak! The apparel for either event is a shirt, shorts, and some type of water shoes. Bathing suits are not required or necessary. Have any questions, give us a call at 941-922-9671

Sunni, Thank you for posting this for us. You are a sweetheart, to follow-up on it for us, even though you will be working. Way to go, Girl!!! We will see you at the pier, if we don't drowned. I'll tell you about my trip, then!!

Lynda, Where are you, Little Lady? We miss seeing your posts on here!! Are you back in town, Yet? Will you join us for Kayaking? Or, fishing this Sat.? I sure did enjoy the time up in the Mountains! How about You?

Is there anything else going on this weekend, for Fathers Day? What are all you single Dad's doing this weekend? With or without your children?

Should we have a "Lonely Dad's party" on Sunday, for Dad's with children, who won't be around? Jerry's girls will be out of town, with a pre-arranged school trip.
So, anyone wanting to get together let us know..He says "we will just work around the house" ??????

Love you all, Kimmie

HI DAD'S, WITH OR WITHOUT CHILDREN TODAY!!!

Jerry and I are celebrating by taking his Dad (and Mom), out to lunch, then spending the day doing whatever Jerry wants to. His girls are out of town-on a school planned trip.

ANY LONELY DAD'S WHO WANT TO HANG-OUT, E-MAIL US!!! Jerry and I always have room for friends in whatever(ok almost-whatever) we do on weekends.

I truly Love you all, and consider our POF friends, to be like extended family, so no Lonely Dad's sittin' home today cryin' in their Beer. Let's get together and BBQ, at our house!!

Thanks Bylle, for the reminder to post this:
My daughter Lyssa takes bellydance lessons in Port Charlotte 3 nights a week.
Mondays, she is at the Yoga place in La Playa center at 6:30p, cost $10 per night.
Wednesdays. , she goes to Higher Ground dance studio at6p, cost $8 per night.
On Thursdays, she is at Starchild Bookstore at 7p, FREE.
All of the locations are on 41 The first two are just south of W. Tarpon BLvd. LaPlaya on the west side, Higher Ground on the east side.
Starchild is just south of Conway but before Gatorz.
The attendees are a wide range of ages and skill levels, so, ladies, no one would be out of place.

One Friday each month, Starchild gives a show/party at House of Prime restaurant, at 7p.

Artist, thanks for informing me of the change in the date for the Baseball Belly Buster Event at Ed Smith Stadium.

I am interested in going to the happy hour in O'Leary's this Friday. What time does the happy hour begin there?

Hello everyone, I plan to take line dancing lessons at the cultural center this July. That is...if I don't forget to register before the classes fill up, lol. Everyone should go on their website...they have many different kinds of cool classes available. I am always looking for silly, different things to keep me occupied. Of course, eventually the funds run out and it's back to the beach. The beach...always fun! OOOhhhh, a get together on the beach afterdark. Yeah right! Doubt we could find one where it was legal, lol. Anyway, I plan to have a birthday party for myself next month. I never do, but this is a special occasion...I am turning 30. A little semi-mid-life crisis, lol. I already got my first tattoo to confirm this! Actually, I have ALWAYS wanted one, so what a good time to do it, right? Ok..back to the party, so easily distracted! It will be July 27th, the day before my birthday....my mom and I started a little tradition last year for the day of my actual birthday. Lunch, shopping, pedicures...it was fun. ANYWAY...sorry, lol. The party is probably going to get a little crazy, so I am not sure who would be interested? It's going to start late afternoon as a BBQ. The adults playing horseshoes and the kids playing on the slip and slide. But when it gets close to dark, it'll be time to ship the kids and the goody goodies off to the babysitters. I am joking here...please don't be offended. Well, not completely...the kids shouldn't be around at this point really! Anyway, I plan to have certain games available (beer pong included) and a keg. I promise it will be a crazy party, so if you are not into that, you may not want to attend. I will explain a little further what I mean if those who are interested email me.

Pete, Where is O'Learys? Sarasota? Venice? What time do you get there on Friday?
Are there very many POF'ers there or will we meet new people?

It looks like your party in July 15th, has introduced a bunch of us who didn't know about Sharky's to a new Favorite place, Thanks Pete!! Jerry and I have gone twice now to meet with Bylle and Fish with her friends, and it has been great both times.
Your Party is going to be a blast.

I saw, Donna has set up a party too...I'm guessing you recruited that happening. Way to Go Pete!!

Bylle, How about the Bellydancing class this Thursday? Those(Ladies) who don't want to go to the class, can meet with the group at Chubbyz, with Jerry, Ron, Bruce, Swede, Jim(Scubaguy)! Mary, Lynda, Sunni, Brenda?Buffy?Karen????? any of you ladies up for Bellydancing?
Michael(ol blu eyes), thanks for the info..is your daughter ready for us to join her?

Love ya'll, Kimmie

Missy, You can set up a party site if you want to make your Birthday into a public party? Or just connect with people thru this site.

As for the line dancing and other classes, post the Days/times/ and if there is a fee for people to join you for the classes. It's more fun to do it with at least one other person. 3 other people is best. One always seems to drop out, then the other two will show up every other time. It's the law of averages!! Keep us informed Missy!! Do You want to join us for bellydanceing class on Thurs THIS WEEK? I'm going and I'm hoping Bylle is going too??

With the line dancing lessons I believe the first lesson is July 5th? It will be a 6 week course, on thursdays 9-10 AM, with a one time fee of $15. That's the thing about the cultural center...so cheap! I have a friend that is supposed to do it with me, and I plan to find out if they will let my 9 and 10 year olds do it too....I hope so. I don't think I would be comfortable doing the bellydancing class...a little too much belly here I am afraid, lol. Maybe when I lose a few more? It does sound like something that I would really enjoy though! A little jealous, but you girls have fun! Thanks for the invite.

Kim, O'Leary's is in downtown Sarasota near Marina Jacks (US 41 along the waterfront). Artist didn't mention a starting time, but I am probably going to get there around 6PM. O'Leary's has beer/wine & mostly light fare (sandwiches, salads, & small dinners). If anybody is into sailing, they also have sailboats that you can rent. Artist will be there & she said that at least a couple of other POF members might be there as well, but the majority of the people are probably going to be business bigwigs from downtown Sarasota.

Yes I saw the post for Donna's party. It's the same party as what they normally host at the Cay Club, it's just a different host this time, but the same time (Sunday nights 7-11pm). I don't think it will post to the inbox page in time because she forgot to email BIGFISH about the party.

Missy, Thanks for Posting about the Line dancing classes. Can you post for everyone how to get to the place it is being held? Say from Hwy 17 (isn't that the road that goes out to Arcadia? I'm new to this area!! Sorry)!

As far as the Bekky dancing class....It is only women, and for us who are attending the Beach Party Pete is having on the 15th of July it will be another way to "Get in shape"!
I go to dance classes ....because they HELP..you get in shape!! Don't wait until you think you look good enough to go....your thinking backwards, Baby!!

Bylle, Is Cheri one of Bluesladys Fans? Does she work at the Frosted Mug?
Michael is the one that gave us the info on the Gospel Gifts Store. We can meet there, or right at the place the class is being held!! Either one works for me. But if it is at the store make it early enough we can look around. I have two "old favorite"-study books, I haven't found at regular book stores they should have.

By the way, Bylle, Jerry is really enjoying our " Sat's at Venice Pier" with you!

nope, Cheri works at my office.

I do want to stop at the store.............just for a looksy. I will get there by 6:30 that will give me 15-20 min. to look around then go straight to class. If you want to look for your books I will meet you there.

I am glad Jerry is enjoying the outings.......keeps the family together instead of just girls day out for us. My son is happy too..........I don't get bored and we stay longer, more fishing for him.

Kim, as far as how long the sailboats are, I don't know exactly. I know that they are small in length--I am guessing about 20 feet or less. The boats are anchored right off the dock at O'Leary's.

Thanks Pete, Jerry and I will have to take a ride up your way!!

Sunni, are you still interested in going to a White Sox Game? They are "weekday games"-not good for Jerry's schedule-we might have to make it a "Girls night out" trip!!
Anyone else (guy? of Girls?) want to go? Lets make some plans? The Soxs are playing Monday June 25, 26,27 and 28th? The group Pete was talking about meeting up with are going to the Thurs. game (28th). Sunni, or anyone else interested let me know!!
