| What kind of profiles do you like? Posted: 1/30/2009 10:59:41 PM | I like the completely wacky oddball profiles which are either stuffed full of science fiction, Hitchhiker's Guide or Monty Python.
I don't like the following:
"im a normal guy I guess. I like to do random stuff, just living life to the fullest and taking it one day at a time. pls no drama and no baby daddy drama. Im an easygoing kind of guy and I like to chill. also be in shape with a good attitude. I dunno. ksjhijvnipdpowiewbncjnokdmc oewjncuh wuyp ospomc'lm[oifjquew"
When men don't put any real information about themselves, I have to conclude that they will be similarly withholding and mysterious (read: untrusting and insecure) in real life.
bearing that in mind, I know a lot of men wouldn't like a Tolstoy novel like my profile...but that was actually my plan.
My profile disqualifies all but those who really like to read and like highly quirky women. (Provided they actually READ it...and their letters prove this.)
Got a cut and paste proposal today...what in the H&&L was that??

Hey talk about cut and paste..... I see you put my profile one here....
Not too many of us can do what's mentioned on the last line.

| What kind of profiles do you like? Posted: 1/31/2009 7:56:58 AM | Jack, most of my experience here has been "cut and paste". Profile's touting past, (waaaaaaaaaaaay past) accomplishments and fake agenda's. All in a day's work in the pond.
Let's see some more "shirtless, in the bathroom mirror" guy pix! I love seeing just how much manscaping product the guy has (and if he ever washes his towels or puts the seat down). Yep, that's all we wimmen need to know.

| What kind of profiles do you like? Posted: 1/31/2009 10:17:53 AM | I like those profiles that are like so obvious the person has about 3 of them and the only thing that changes is the profile name and the punctuation.

^^^Yeah, something new and different. How about the toilet adornments in pink, or pale yellow? Now that's a real attraction...

| What kind of profiles do you like? Posted: 1/31/2009 10:26:34 AM | I like profiles that are occasionally changed and updated as well as interesting/funny enough to inspire me to re-read them from time to time. This signifies the person may be interesting, engaging and creative enough to potentially hold my attention in real life as well (which is no easy task when one has a 3-ring-circus living in her noggin).
Oh - and if they possess some spelling ability it's really helpful. It's a b-i-t-c-h when I need a secret decoder ring just to read their profile ............

I agree totally about the spelling thing! And while I can be tolerant a bit about English and punctuation, too many problems there too can really be a downer for me. And then there's also that "to", "too" and "two" thing! Augh!
Man you're fast this morning Jack! Good to see you too!

Yea, what is up with the cleavage shots. Holding the camera over your head to capture the "girls"......I would like to believe the guys on this site are not that stupid to think there is nothing below the chest that did not make it into the picture...come on ladies.
Thank you nelleb, I'm glad a woman mentioned this. Just today I noticed a woman who had a couple other respectable pictures but then felt she needed to lay on her bathroom floor in a bathrobe. Then goes on to complain about intimate encounter crap. What would posses you to take a picture like that and think to yourself "Gee, I'm going to find a respectable guy with this picture."
I like profiles where the woman appears to be normal and respectable, has NO cleavage showing, No pictures like the above mentioned, doesn't appear to hate all men, and actually has some substance to her profile.

(^^^ Hmmm. Obviously unclear on the concept...)
Speaking for myself, I like profiles where the woman doesn't take herself or this whole cyber-dating process too seriously. Too many women accentuate the negative instead of the positive by listing everything she does not want in a man. That's fishing with lousy bait. And, it leads me to believe she will pick a loser anyway since negative male traits seem to be what she is most experienced with.

Making a reservation a year ahead of time just to read a profile is a bit cumbersome as well. I understand wanting to separate the wheat from the chaff, but I prefer to hear and discover how interesting and fascinating you are. I think the profile should be like a book jacket. Just enough to make you want to open it and discover the rest of the story.

| What kind of profiles do you like? Posted: 1/31/2009 4:26:21 PM | ^^^I especially like profiles with pretty pictures. And, if there are pictures with more that one beautiful woman in a picture, that really excites me. And if those women like tequila, Yowzer!
Ya, I know, typical male. But, when I see a bevy of forum Phloozies, it makes my dancing banana go nuts. Get out your dancin' shoes buddy. Yehaw!

| What kind of profiles do you like? Posted: 2/1/2009 5:41:57 PM | | I like the kind of profile that has alittle about the guy, something that makes me smile and shows alittle personality. A picture is a definite plus. | |
|
| What kind of profiles do you like? Posted: 2/2/2009 8:16:32 PM | I like profiles that don't take an hour to read. After the first paragraph it is all, Blah, blah, blah, blah blah, blah. Just me sayin' >mak^o>

| What kind of profiles do you like? Posted: 2/3/2009 11:19:14 AM | I like the kind of profile that reveals someone's personality, through use of arch humor and sarcasm.
I hate the short ones that say next to nothing and contain only a laundry list.
