| cost of dating Posted: 5/9/2007 11:07:14 AM | i agree that little Bazstard would've had to stay home. Just because i know I'm going to get slack about call her son a Bazstard. think about it its the DEFINITION of a Bazstard.
Thats another issue when dating the KID factor and how they interfer with you trying to get to know the woman.
Plan some park events with the kid, throw a ball around with him. don't take him out with you all and let her be pissy better train her now than later about it. She's spoiled.

Going dutch doesn't happen with me. I'm a bit old fashioned and have a bit more pride in myself than that.

| cost of dating Posted: 5/9/2007 3:58:23 PM | | a kid doesnt belong on dates period, i'd rather pay for a babysitter [yes that is hinted at a lot also] after you start seeing each other exclusivly then take the kid out as a normal family would. | |

Cheap Trick Fan "Dinner and a movie" still doesn't need to be $80.00+. Maybe in Cleveland! When I go out on a date, I DO NOT WANT TO GO TO Olive Garden, Bennigans or Applebees. OMG How cheesy. I want to try something new and interesting. Movies? $9 per, maybe a popcorn to share and a drink? $30 to start. Dinner for two starting with an appetizer, $6-12 app. , entrees$12-$20. Do the math, get up from behind the TV and stop watching "$40 a Day with Rachel Ray" on the food channel. Maybe I am spoiled living in Chicago, but I could drop $100 on a night out E A S Y ! ! I once went to Gibsons Steak house for dinner for two, with tip it turned out to be almost $400. You want hot dogs on the date? $12 -- You want steak, lobster, and martinis? $400. All depends on what ones tastes and financial status might be.

|
| cost of dating Posted: 5/9/2007 4:55:36 PM | Rachel Ray's $40.00 a Day.....you're right, I like that show! And see, people CAN eat on a budget. What's wrong with Applebees? That's where the "real" people eat. But hey, if you can afford those high end places, more power to ya. I know I'll never see 'em though. | |

| cost of dating Posted: 5/9/2007 5:00:20 PM | | As I read further through the posts, I noticed the term "First dates". Okay, just to clarify, a first date should be about getting to know one another. I would think that coffee and a walk in the park might be nice, maybe a bike ride and a quick bite somewhere. The whole thing might not be more than $20. And then again, how much time do we have in this busy world for 3 or more dates a week? I work way too much for that many dates. Weekends are it for me, a sat or sun afternoon/evening. Dutch should come later, deeper in the relationship when one is paying for the whole thing, its more like a treat and at that point, there is nothing wrong with the woman treating as well. | |
|
| cost of dating Posted: 5/9/2007 5:10:15 PM | The best dates cost the least - rent a movie - $6 - popcorn $1 and a snuggle - free!!! A stroll by the lake - snuggling on the park bench - free!!! A Sunday drive in the country - $20 for gas - stop for icecream $5 I could go on! The only time I expect more $ spent is on that first date and on special occasions!! | |

|
| cost of dating Posted: 5/9/2007 9:53:51 PM | How much does it cost to rent a few movies, watch them on your own TV, pop your own popcorn...and make out all ya want on the couch....that is, after the child goes to bed, of course..... Sounds like a GREAT way to spend time with someone I want to be with....
How about a walk or a hike, or a stroll around quaint little shops...even if ya buy something, the price would probably be just fine. A picnic...a bottle of wine....a couple of sandwiches...and an ice cream cone......and some wonderful time spent with someone ya want to be with.
How about hours spent listening to great CDs...slow dance tunes...dancing to them in the privacy of your own home.....wearing whatever ya want...or don't want to wear.
Playing board games..........cards.......tennis, swimming bicycling ...it doesn't have to be ROMANTIC every minute, does it?
Well, maybe I'm just from the old school...but I'm sure there's gotta be another one around somewhere?
Looks to me like the poor fellas have to search a little harder to find a gal who just wants to be with them....we're out there guys, honest we are.
And, these are my thoughts

| cost of dating Posted: 5/9/2007 9:55:48 PM | Where on earth do all you people live????? No wonder no one has any money left to pay their bills $20 for Mini Golf????
The Chicago guy I can understand. Those people up there sell houses for $300,000 that aren't even worth $60,000 in Tenn. Trust me I used to sell Realistate and I had a couple from Chicago. Prices up there flat out Suck. 400 bucks would be like my fancy restraunt down here in my city, got out with 6 people on 140 bucks. That was our most expensive in the city. If they were wine drinkers it might have went up to 180. Hot dogs?, with fries and a drink. 5 bucks.
Not so sure about the sunday drives. They are going up quite a bit.
And 80 to 100 bucks? What are you doing buying your dates? "Excuse me sweetheart, I gotta fork out some cash to show you how rich I am and how easy I can throw money away." That should make a great impression on a lady. Might as well hand it to her and say spread them. Either that our you people need to move to a cheaper city. Cost of living must be really out there.
What to hear the great stuff???? Drive in Movie.. $10 for both to get in. Pop your own corn and bring your own drinks, that will save you a walk to the long line in the snack bar. Can cuddle just like your on a couch, well kind of.
Mini Golf... $6 for both to play 2 rounds.. total of 36 holes. Not the straight in stuff. The you need to learn bankshot tricks type.
If you do go to one of those,.... Sit in movies. It will cost you at least $25.
Dinner for two? I tasted food at a Steak House in Tennessee. Fancy place with fireplaces, all romantic looking and BS.. 80 bucks. I was depressed.
Next night I went to an average steak house. They had these candles, it felt rather romantic. Nice atmosphere. Less than 40 bucks. And the food tasted 10 times better.
I can take a woman to 3 fancy steak houses. Drink wine at all three, prices Highest would run me 60 dollars. Cheapest would run 45 dollars. Mind you what is with fancy wine added which run 5 dollars a glass or 12 for the bottle.
Here is a good one, Charcoal under 5 dollars. Meat from a store, $12 should be enough for 2 plus left overs. Two tatters and a bit of salad.. total might come to 20 dollars. Couple outdoor mesquito lights, one of those yard lights. some nice chairs, soft music, blanket for the roll on the ground later, lots of room to slow dance. Nice privacy fence. Bottle of wine. I'd say well under $80 dollars. Okay enough picking.
Sure if your out to impress a lady with your money, then go for it. But if you are just interested in showing her how good you are at picking places with great food. Then shop around and find the best places to eat. Not most expensive, best to eat. I also check out service, if I am treated like someone important. I will return. And I love going to a place where I feel I am important. I know my date will enjoy it more too.
I feel sorry for you poor people in Chicago thats gotta spend 400 dollars for something good to eat. But then I bet to buy a hamburger up there you gotta pay at least 10 dollars. I don't feel totally sorry for you people, you also get great wages.
Not trying to sound mean. Just, 80 to 100 bucks is what I spend for a hotel room. Give or take a dollar. And it can't be the average because most of us don't live in huge cities.

| cost of dating Posted: 5/9/2007 11:14:22 PM | | i read through the whole forum.lolz,,you guys are begining to sound like Archie and Reggie dates from the Archie Comics,,dates shouldn't have to cost that much, unless youre trying to impress your date,,first date shouldn't cost that much,if youre goin to meet for coffee,,then plan something special for the next date.ok,what advise would i have?ive never been on dates. | |
|
| cost of dating Posted: 5/10/2007 1:29:32 AM | | You don't have to blow $80-100 for a date to go well, there are a lot of more enjoyable things beyond eating a meal that can be done for less money. | |
|
| cost of dating Posted: 5/10/2007 1:32:55 AM | | I don't think you should date less. Although I do believe women should chip in as well. Split on dinner, and a movie. Or do something that costs no money like have a picnic or go swimming at a beach. | |

Do ppl with less money date less then those with mega money?
Nope. I have a few friends on the low mega money train and they all seem to date quite often. More then I do!
Met some women on here that seem to not be looking for a "settle down with " man but more like they just want to be wined and dined at no cost to them.
Yea. I heard about those types.
Should it be that the guy should date less or get a second job to afford the dates? Any advice?
If you always have to spend - then reconsider the women/man you are having to spend it on and why you are spending the $$$. Especially if they never offer to spend at all for anything. That's just my 2 cents worth.

TigerBlackHawk -- I feel sorry for you poor people in Chicago thats gotta spend 400 dollars for something good to eat. Now dont get me wrong, this was a special date with a special friend at a high end restaurant. And as for spending $100 on a night out(some places charge cover $5-$20 per), I like to drink and have a good time. Drinks can be expensive, when I sit at home and have a beer, I might buy the cheap stuff. And its not always about showing how much money one has, sometimes people can just be generous about entertaining. If I believe in having a good time, why cant those around me have a good time as well? So what if I might buy an extra round or two. Its about enjoying ones self.

| cost of dating Posted: 5/11/2007 12:29:38 PM | Mr Chicago.... That helps a bit in this picture I got, I was starting to wonder.. I was starting to think "Dang" I don't ever want to visit Chicago. I am pretty much a country type and my city has like 100,000 as long as they don't ship out the Air Force. Lose half if it when they take off. So big cities truly confuse me. I could understand a Special date. Had me worried that it was the norm for you folks. And I can imagine the drinks. Normally thats a 100 dollar night where I hang out.
I scoff at a bottle of wine that cost over 10 bucks. Especially here in the States. Now Germany a 5 dollar bottle is wonderful compared to anything I've tasted state side.
And see I never think about cab fees. Around here only people that can't afford a car use a cab. Though we do get some tourist. Though I guess if I'd use a cab I could actually drink more than 2 beers in a night. But I don't like getting drunk.
I bet with the price of Gas those cabs are out there now.
