Enjoying our first real snowfall of the year, taking the time to enjoy the beauty of the new fallen snow, and having a snowball fight with the kids....
lol, oh yes, and explaining about 'yellow snow' to some pre-schoolers!!

Posted: 12/10/2007 2:18:36 PM | We were making christmas cards for our troops overseas today, and I was asking the children what they wanted to 'say' inside their cards. Here are a few comments that made me smile......( these were all comments from pre-schoolers)
* " I am sorry that you have to fight. My mum doesnt let me, she says it is bad"
* " Have a happy Christmas, and please dont die".
* " Is it very teeny tiny inside a tank...? And where do you have a pee..?"
* "Do they let you stop fighting and stuff so you can decorate your tree, and hang your stocking?"
* "Are you allowed to wear a Santa hat on top of your helmet..? That would be COOL!"
* " I think your kids will miss you, and they should let you all come home for Christmas".
* "Does santa use a sleigh in the sand, or a camel..?"

Posted: 12/24/2007 6:34:30 AM | This is Christmas Eve. The Christmas tree is trimmed with all the ornaments I have collected in the past 2 decades and some were given by my children(handmade). My son is home to spend Christmas with my daughter and I. My home is filled with the unconditional love, sometimes foolish chit chats, and other time serious issues.. and they are stuffing their little faces( I can still see their baby faces in my mind) and massing up my kitchen continuously....Home is where the heart is.
The calmness, the silly laughters , the comfort of home and they know they are loved, I am happy so are they. Althought there is a special man missing in my life, but I am content and smiling.
Happiness is a delicate balance between what one is and what one has. ..so very true.

Posted: 12/24/2007 7:11:09 AM | | well put imadarling,,, i too can still see the baby in my daughter,,,if i imagine,, but she is a young lady now,, i used to think i was the worse parent on the faceof the earth,i have since realized that isnt true, and while sitting making foolish talk with her yesterday i yet agaqin realized that i did pretty good with her,,, the values and the good sense that she has had to have come from somewhere,, i do hope that she continues on the path that she is walking,, so that is what made me smile yesterday, today, and hopefully continue into the future | |

I had my turkey dinner and my wine all by myself, and just sat around on my own. And today I spent the morning getting my turkey soup/stew ready for supper and was having a good time doing it. Whatever works I guess, but y'all have a Happy New Year. | |

Food bank, one of those Out of the Cold things, etc. Least you'd do something good and it's always good to see that you're actually lucky compared to other people. There are far worse fates than being alone on Christmas
Tho it would be nice if a few pubs were open Christmas eve. Then one could go there, drink and use their wireless to surf POF forums. | |

Posted: 2/3/2008 8:44:09 PM | I became a grandma tonight at 11:36 eastern time (9:36 in Saskatoon)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stacey had a baby girl.....Isabella Ohsay ...7 lbs 5ozs. I am a proud grandma !!!!! One down and one pregnancy to go......lol..............
I was not able to make it for the delivery but I got to hear the birth on cell phone. My granddaughter has a heck of a good set of lungs..............lol....
My joy and smile could not be wider both Mother and daughter are doing wonderful!!!!!!!!!   | |

Posted: 3/17/2008 3:24:44 PM | Well, it happened Saturday, not today, but I thought of it today and it made me smile again, so that counts, right?
I was listening to "Saturday Night Blues" on the radio. (CBC Radio One, 10pm-midnight, if anybody else digs that kind of thing.) Suddenly, my cat started to purr, very loudly - and she was purring in time with the music! It's nice to know that I've brought her up right, and she has good taste in music!
Besides that, summer is now only 98 days away! We're down to a double-digit countdown!

Some of you know that I have been here for awhile and met some fantastic people and had some really great times.
Recently I have met a lady who is "all of that and a bag of Doritos".....she is an unbelievable soul.
I have never fallen in love like I have with her.
She is my sun in the morning and my moon at night.
I haven't even had sex with her and I don't intend to until she marries me.
I know what you all are thinking...this dumb **stard is a divorce in the making.
To "Em, "Tee,"yellow" and "smurf".......you all had a significant role in getting me to this place and the invites are in the mail.
This will be my last post here as I am now gone......moving on to a place where I have wanted to be since I was 18.
I will miss all the "POF" stuff but I am now enetering the final stages of what I have spent the last 20 som eyears building.
I have met the woman who will be my wife and allow me to dote on her and take care of her eternally.
I will take my profile off in a couple of days to allow those who have come this way with me to say good bye.
Please be happy for me......as I am for you....wish me well or keep your thoughts to yourself.]
