I have a coworker like that.

"Crazy one can you listen and see if you can understand this doctor?"

Listens.

"Well that's easy. Look in a book Halo, you'll find it"

Meanwhile I can't even decipher that what the guy said was WORDS rather than random mumbled syllables. But Crazy One goes on:

"And you shouldn't type this sentence here like that it should be *insert totally WRONG way of typing exactly what the doctor said with lots of punctuation that totally throws off the meaning of it* and you shouldn't type hemoglobin, just put in Hgb it's easier *despite getting a few e-mails lately from Q&A ppl telling us NOT do to that* oh and you need to find the family doctors name.. no don't go the EASY way through admission sheet, save your report and look at the doctors name, then type in part of it and search it through the internal dictionary INSTEAD of just grabbing the mnemonic from the admission sheet and do it this way because *I* have been here longer, *I* have put in my dues and *I* have the right to talk to you like you're a 2-year-old rather than a coworker. Why are you grinding your teeth so loud?"

Luckily, we're both at a level where I can turn and tell her to screw off, that she's a uptight anal b*tch and she doesn't get mad. Unfortunately though, I'm developing headaches from grinding my teeth so often.

Mountain lion - I've been thinking about a mouth guard. I'm clenching and grinding my teeth even at home.

Duct tape - I have a feeling she'd enjoy it. She's got a dirrty, dirrty mind. :S lol

“know a lot” "know it all”

Thank s for the distinction Odriver n welcome back…..

Why are we like that sometimes?
I don’t think you need to ask why a person might be the way he/she is but rather “what is it about me that makes me react the way I do to people who know it all?”

She's got a dirrty, dirrty mind.

Soap used to do the trick, now you may add bleach, whitens teeth too and if you apply both at the same time and then seal with duct tape she'll be forever greateful

Serious note:
re mouth guard, I can provide more info if you like, otherwise suggest your general dental practitioner can do so or refer you to a specialist. Suggest it is a good idea for you to do so in your own interest.

you know, the co worker who says, oh you gotta do it THIS way!

There is always someone in your office that SUGGESTS that their way is the ONLY way to do stuff.......
When I encounter said person, I usually nod my head in mock agreement and then walk away.......

As for me being a "know it all". I have found it best to just tell everyone that I know nothing! If you want an answer to your query, find someone else. I have no desire to be proved wrong....... again. So, don't ask me!

What is the point of knowing, or retaining vast amounts of knowledge without sharing it in appropriate situations?
Most people don't want to know that the way they found for themselves to do something, might not be the 'best' or most efficient, and easy way to do something.
This is why it is even more important that the person with the knowledge is able to keep in mind that they 'don't' know everything either, and to be receptive to others that wish to share their wisdom.
Otherwise you don't complete the circle. Just giving out, and not receiving. You look pompous.

As if it's my fault that I've been everywhere, and know everything. I can't help it if everbody else is so stupid, and hasen't been anywhere. The only thing I don't know, is what MN's accent sounds like.

Skullart, if you don't want to be my friend, thats OK with me; when I win the lotto I'm buying all new friends anyway.

Well Mr. MM, you got me thinking and stumped there...I am not sure what my accent sounds like either...or how I sound to other people...and if I did, how would I write it?

All I know is that it is subtle and most people have to ask because they cannot figure it out. It does not sound Spanish...certainly not like Antonio Banderas anyhow!

Mr. MM, you should start a thread about accents! No?
Some accents are very sexy, methinks.
